Lu Zhi Wei is an often overlooked person. Her father didn’t dote on her, and her mother didn’t love her. She lived alone till now. Her sense of existence was so diminished to the point that even if someone had accidentally bumped into her, that person might not even realise they bumped into someone.

Her life was simply tragic and absurd.

Until one day, a “male protagonist halo” crashed onto her head, and her life flipped upside down. Along with it, came something called a system. The system requested for her to immediately become a protagonist, doing everything the male lead should do and making it a perfect world.

This kind of female lead with incredible dodging skills was too ridiculous!!

In the end, the rebellious and ridiculous female lead finally followed a plot point. She fell in love with the “male lead”.

In short: Best Novel I've Ever Read - S Tier

This is my number one Baihe novel that I love. I have read this before while it was ongoing and lost progress of it since I was impatient. I thought it was amazing the first time. But, when I read it the second time, I was just blown away again. The whole world was very fleshed out and the characters were really 3D. Every main character was so loving and the main couple was just so loving and sweet. The story... more>> was just so beautiful and made me happy, bawl my eyes out, excited, and just various other feelings.

The translator was amazing too! Nyehhh really words the novel (and other novels they have translated) into beautiful work of art. And, for more context, they add little notes to explain what something means.

All in all, please read it and give it a shot! I wish I could erase my memory just so I can read this novel for the first time again! <<less

I can't believe I've never left a review for this.

First thing's first... Do not open up the spoilers in Nylazir's review. They literally summarize the whole story. Luckily for me I don't open spoilers until I finish a novel... And I finished this novel before they posted their review.

There are some interesting things that might surprise you the first time you read through this story, and clues that you'll catch onto if you decide to read it again (I read it a few times because it's one of my favorites).

Unlike... more>> in She is the Protagonist the system agent (Lao Wu) assigned to our MC (Lu Zhi Wei) isn't antagonistic. They're helpful and kind and they care about LZW. That's not to say that things are exactly as they seem. This author likes to play with fate and autonomy in their writing so be prepared for some emotional moments.

LZW isn't like YRB from She is the Protagonist either. She's warmhearted and caring and she comes in to the story wanting to be helpful, agreeing to Lao Wu, her system, to restore the world-line after becoming the new ML. This doesn't mean that she doesn't have some hilarious inner-monologues, it's just that her overall attitude is different. More lovable protagonist, less iron-bar-salted-fish. Not that either is a bad thing.

Sang Wan Ci is a lot like THQ from SITP however. She's cold, quiet, and fiercely independent. Her motivations stem from her family and not wanting to be controlled by them. If there's one thing I'm disappointed in this story about it's how little of SWC we get a perspective on. But there's a good, narrative, reason for that.

The side characters are also funny and have depth. Except for the ML, I think the author has a vendetta against MLs in stories (and I do too, which is probably why I like this author so much).

In the end the author wrapped up another amazing story (I think I like this one more than SITP) and managed to weave everything together in a beautiful way. I highly recommend this author's works to anyone looking for a bit of subversion of the "system" trope, and for excellent writing. And of course for really sweet yuri. <<less

Nice fluffy story with a lot of loving moments, yet it managed to stay consistent, well paced, keeping a believable overarching plot running, and at times make you cry.

Really nice translation too.

Light and fluffy novel. I liked it very much. I really liked both the MC and FL. They are both so outstanding but also realistic with their own weaknesses.

The MC is kind hearted, lively but also strong willed. She has a low sense of existence because of her past. She is also a hardworking actress. And the funny thing is her « goddess » the woman she is a super fan of and is crazy about is not the FL but someone else.. Usually in novels the MC likes the FL and is a fan from the start.

The FL is a fairly know actress but not yet a movie queen. She is also hard working and kind but has a cold personality (except toward our MC ;)). She seems confident but she also her own demons because of her family.

The side characters are also not 2D characters. Everything is really well done. I can only say thank you for this novel and keep up the good work. I also liked the other novel She is the protagonist and I hope I can read more stories like them.

To sum up, stop hesitating and read it!

I love the author! It has the same universe as 'She is the Protagonist.' It will reveal some dark truth about the systems. It also made me cry, but don't worry because it's a happy ending!

A nice and sweet story that also contains painful moments.

Lu Zhi Wei is an absolute treasure of a woman despite growing up practically isolated and ignored by the world.

Sang Wan Ci is also precious and has her own troubles.
