It takes time to build trust, but only a moment to break it.

One day, Renya Tsukuyomi is accused of mol*sting a girl on his way home from club activities. Renya, who didn’t actually do it, thinks that the misunderstanding will be cleared up soon. However, the police, his family, friends, and club mates all refused to believe him.

Even his childhood friends who he had known them for over ten years….

And so, Renya stopped believing in people.

But after a while, it became clear that the mol*ster was falsely accused.

Many people came to apologize, but no matter what they said now, it didn’t touch Renya’s heart…

Read the raws, it's not laid out yet but clearly the plan is for him to be "reformed" as he repeatedly gives in to other character's nagging. I really hate these stories the concept is interesting but the main characters never seem to stick with their believes at all, constantly being influenced by others when their "tragedy" started because of the influence of others.

this series starts following renya, who has been falsely accused of mol*sting and how as a result he lost the trust of his friends and family, which resulted in him disregarding the value of trust and forsaking any attempt to regain him. The series is mostly told from the POV of different characters related to renya, such as his childhood friends, classmates, family and even strangers as they interact with him and aim to help him because of several different reasons, like regaining his trust or making friends as well... more>> as his opinion on such action and his view on life. All in all, it a very interesting story with a quite unique view on life and the bonds holding people together. Very recommend to try if you up for something unusual. <<less

I like this novel for its realism, and IMO that's why I'm also confused why several reviews have given poor reviews because the problem could be "easily solved" via more communication. The whole premise of the novel is how the MC doesn't trust easily after getting betrayed by all the people he once trusted (other than his parents, who seemed to stand by his side until the end but I guess he ostracizes because of teenage rebellion?). It's hard enough for the other characters to apologize and admit their fault,... more>> and good on them for doing so. But it's a lot harder to restore trust through "communication" as other reviewers seem to put it, especially if that communication was the whole cause for the loss of trust in the first place. The novel's not particular happy go lucky, but IMO it realistically captures what might happen in such a situation. The MC slowly makes new friends over time, not through apologies or crying but through effort.

I'm also calling out the BS in c50, screw losing your memories of the past two years due to a car crash! I'm not sure how the author will take it in future chapters, so it may be OK, but I'm wary.

This novel is a toned down version of The girls who traumatized me... where the MC only suffered the fake accusation of mol*station for 3 months. He turned from a seemingly warm, kind, and gentle guy into an introvert. He doesn't seem crazy, broken, or depressed so far, just a normal introverted dude who doesn't like going out or talking to people.

The whole problem here is the people who were close to him. They want the old him back but suffer from communication disorder. They can't, for the life of... more>> them, talk directly to MC without being fearful of being rejected which made their actions super awkward. They also jump to conclusions way too quickly from simple sighs or minor actions that the MC made. Example:

Little sister cooks for MC and asks MC to eat together. MC agrees, sits down, and starts thinking about random stuffs while little sister is bringing the food joyfully. Suddenly the MC sighs, as a result of those random thoughts, making little sister think that MC doesn't enjoy eating with her after all.

Simple misunderstandings like this happened way too frequently while the MC was just minding his own business. He didn't go edgy, had dark humor, or thought other people hated him unconditionally. He was just an introvert who followed normal logic such as not getting too close to a girl in case a misunderstanding happens, which usually resulted in the girl thinking he hates her or something. As the others have said, all of these wouldn't happen if they just communicated properly like normal human beings.

Later the MC meets a girl that has suffered as much as himself, perhaps more idk yet, and he'll oftenly be with her as he didn't mind her small antics, perhaps felt kinship towards fellow introverts, and perhaps liked how peaceful & quiet it was when they're together.

But getting hit by a car to save 2 girls to get an amnesia? And said amnesia is only for timespan of an accident and his own changes due to it? Really?

My problem with these types of novels is most of problems is caused by the lack of communication between the characters. Most of their problems can be solved if they just talk properly to each other. But unfortunately the MC is an edgelord and nihilistic piece of sh*t and the other characters suddenly develops a communication disorder every time they start a conversation with the MC.

Until the end of chapter 45, it was getting interesting, even if annoying at times at what a pushover the "I wanna be a loner" guy is, bullsh*t reasonings for getting dragged into things with his classmates, but the end of C45 and onwards was complete nonsense.

"Let's go to the festival, just us four childhood friends", he says to the guy who wants to create a distance and not get close. AND HE ACTUALLY GOES.

"Let's add a car crash, the MC saves the female childhood friends and gets injured! He ALSO conveniently gets AMNESIA and forgets two years, PERFECTLY coinciding with forgetting all the betrayals and the mol*station accusations".

Just suddenly, interesting and decent pacing goes out of the windows, in exchange for "Let's throw tropes and tropes and tropes and tropes".

Complete and utter nonsense. It started to be interesting with him finding friendships with the other loner girl, and potentially the others joining on that group, but this just went zero to one hundred insane "throw everything in there". Even with most of the things he did, it seemed like nonsense that HAS TO HAPPEN for the story to continue, but he literally could have just kept going with the new group of friends that had somewhat similar experiences. <<less

Redemption story. Synopsis is a complete lie. This is in-fact a story of - quite frankly - a sensible young man being transformed into atypical Japanese male by the people - especially the women - around him. The greatest problem is that MC has no issues - he's not aggressive, or depressed. He just has new hobbies, and interests now. Is it a crime to be introverted? According to this story, it sure is.

I actually liked this story a lot, and contrary to the popular belief held by many readers of these kinds of novels, I was actually hoping that Renya would eventually make up with everyone, if only to a certain extent. The way the author went about making this happen however, was not the best idea.

Having him get into an accident, which causes amnesia which conveniently makes him forget about everything after the accusation. That was seriously such a lazy way to start the redemption arc of the friends. As someone said on the TL's website in the comments (can't remember which chapter), by taking this route, the author seems to have written themselves into a corner, as the story has been on hiatus for nearly a year now.

All in all, a decent read, but you'll likely find yourself either exasperated or outright infuriated by the last 4 chapters, as many in the comments of the TL's site would indicate. <<less

This was a nice read. He doesn't blame anyone but himself in a self depreciated way due to circumstances not in his control.

. Living as care-free as possible in the new high-school, people (not his old friends) tend to help or rely on him in an aggressive matter with him going reluctantly or with some purpose.

Isn't there some similar anime called hikimori or something?
