After being used by his adoptive parents his entire life, Woo Hee-shin is forced into an arranged marriage with Kwak Tae-beom, the President of the Moojin Group.

Just when he was about to be happy by his side…

It's pretty early in the story, and maybe I shouldn't be judging so quickly BUT!

Holy Moly the MC is a frustrating character.

He was deceived and abused in his past life by his parents multiple times. And when he goes back what does he do? Does he question the medicine his mother told him to take? No. Does he try at least to change his situation with his husband? No.

He thinks about it but ultimately decides that he wants to have a good memory with him first. Because since he didn't... more>> mean to deceive him and it was his adoptive parents who lied he has the moral high ground and is allowed to live a lie a little longer.

He knows he is unhealthy but does he go to a doctor immediately? No. Because his husband would learn about his deception.

It just... Some of it can be explained by his long history of abuse. Like him agreeing to his adoptive parents requests and not talking much, having problems with communication in general. But taking meds that an abusive, deceiving and lying adoptive mother just gave him without him knowing what it is AFTER being reborn and AFTER

At this point the ML is a cold Alpha president who is showing some semblance of an interest in the MC despite that at this point in his past life he didn't. And he works a lot. That's it.

Right now I am reading this novel mostly because I want to see the scene when the MC tells the ML about the lies. Through probably, with the way the MC is acting it will be the ML who will have to find out on his own. Again.

Maybe I will change my mind later?

But this is not a story for those who like a strong MC. <<less

The novel in question initially seemed like a typical angst-filled story with the typical backstory first and then the second life later, but to my surprise, it turned out to be a novel about healing with the narrative taking place after the second life with occasional backstory. The author has taken an interesting route with the story so far, but it's still too early to make any definitive judgments based on the current chapters. The author's writing style is such that it portrays the main character's feelings in a way... more>> that evokes empathy from the reader. (Only works if you're the type to overthink aha) I'm looking forward to the MC's happiness with the ML, but at the same time, I'm expecting the numerous misunderstandings that are yet to be resolved from their past life. Nevertheless, I'm excited to see how the ML's character develops as the story progresses. Cannot wait to read more!

Seeing the other review made me sad but personally for me, I do NOT give a sh*t of how MC acts because I had every reason to prepare for it. Generally, I wanted this review to NOT have spoilers but I don't want anyone to be put off from other reviews and stop reading the novel.

SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, THIS IS HOW I SEE MC.

MC is a weak person with a weak mindset, I experienced the "same thing" with him like him being naive, greedy, and a dumb idiot, and that is the reason why I felt sad for him. For me, MC doesn't care about the medicines or anything, it was like he had given up on the world to give a sh*t about it all, he just wants to be happy but his weak mindset is preventing it all. How is it preventing him? Well, a weak mindset comes with a weak ego, he doesn't know other people care for him, he has no one by his side, he's a dumb idiot because he doesn't know which route to go, and he has NO ONE to rely on, and he's scared that ML will give up on him when he learns the truth. So for a little moment of happiness, he was prepared to lose it all when the moment of truth was revealed, nothing is important to MC other than telling the truth to ML.

Well for ML, I have nothing to say, he's shallow like a kid's pool. The ML felt like a dumpster mostly because the author has already exhausted their skills on MC ALONE, the MC was receiving all the Author's love while the ML was receiving leftovers.
