Just like the novel "I cultivate passively" It has the vibe of a low key passive protagonist then suddenly they are a very active character.

The differences are that this novels setting is perfect for a low key MC while the system might not be for a low key MC. The setting and system if this novel is opposite to "I cultivate passively". Another difference is that this novel is executed poorly.

The world building is warped for story development. At least in " I cultivate passively" the author makes fun to read while retaining some sense to the novel. In this novel however the world building is thrown out for the nationalism.

The unranked weapons the MC makes (China's historical weapons) are suddenly important. It tries to give excuses like how there are many people therefore it would overwhelm them, as if this author doesn't know the existence if the art of war. It has been shown in this novel that 7th ranked martial artist (mc) could assassinate the leader of an imperial troop (unranked), so all they need to do is use demoralizing tactics to beat these armies unless all of them were brainwashed to die for their country.

What is weird is that after 71 chapters ranked weapons have never appeared but Grandmasters have. Grandmasters are higher than a high-level master forger which is higher than a low level master forger which is higher than forging apprentice/s*aves. The ranked weapons importance are bloated and became so rare in the novel just so MC can be called important for making unranked weapons. There is a reason why forging apprentice are s*aves yet that is all thrown out the window just so MC can show off the modified toys of China.

Wanna know how rare ranked weapons are? In the story an enemy empire sent assassins in order to assassinate the MCs second brother, who is a fourth ranked martial artist, the enemy knows this and knows killing him will have dealt a blow to the Xia empire. When the Second brother planted an ambush for the assassins guess what, all those assassins does not have a single ranked weapon. Like excuse me why do they have no ranked weapons on such an important mission? They do not even have low ranked weapons. The second brother is even using the MC's UNRANKED WEAPON to fight and kill them.

The event before this is even worse. THE ENEMY EMPIRE WHICH HAS USED HIGH RANKING PERSONNEL AS SPIES FOR 10 YEARS JUST GIVES THE PAPER DETAILING ALL THEIR SPIES AND ASSASSINATION TARGETS TO A BUNCH OF UNRANKED TO LOW LEVEL MARTIAL ARTIST GROUP. This happened just so the f*cking MC could save the day.
