The MC is not enough for the ML. It’s also ML fault for loving him so much that he prefers to be a doormat than to stand up in the relationship.

Also, doesn’t really help that he got pregnant while they were reconnecting. This novel could have finished at 80 and that’s with extras but of course, they had to add unnecessary drama that made no sense to the overall story.

ML should have finally had some balls to move on and MC should have stayed single.

i am writing this review because the rating is not really doing this book justice.

i chose to read this book because I am a fan of second chance romance and I’ve been reading this book nonstop since I started it.

The MC might seem weak and incompetent in the beginning but as we read further into the book he’s like a diamond lost in dirt that needed polishing. Though he’s not super competent and smart he has boundaries and makes sure to defends himself when needed

Spoiler

The MC was a very pragmatic person in his youth. He grew in a single parent household so he was more sensible than others. In order to save his dying mother he gives up his body and future.

[collapse]

The ex husband is just uggggg🙄🙄

Spoiler

I am glad that the MC knew his true facade since the beginning and only stayed out of obligation because of his debts

[collapse]

The ML really has my heart in this book. He’s not one of the those cold super smart elites MLs. He an emotionally wounded person who found comfort in Wen Ke’s (our mc) care. He’s also alway true to his feelings and has put nothing above his love for Wen Ke.

Spoiler

They’re love story actually starts from 10 years ago in night school. Their were each others first love but because of a mistake they missed each other for ten years

[collapse]

Another thing I really enjoyed in this book is the communication like even if there are arguments and sad moments, they always communicate their feelings they barely keep them bottled up, even when they were taking a break or whatever they were doing they always communicated it like they never stayed quiet and cause misunderstandings.

I would def rec this book, plus the updates are super fast <<less

This is a very good novel for people who like angst, not fluffy kind of novel. For those who like to read fluffy one, please don't vote this novel badly just because your taste in novel is different from others. This novel is really good, it feels more real with the emotion. The misunderstanding between both of character also doesn't take that long to be solve because they communicate and trust, please don't vote this badly just because you can't take a little bit of hurt and sad in your... more>> emotion <<less

Oh it's the side couple of Evil Love Appears. Wait which story appeared first tho... hmmm. Edit: (It's this story first [2020] then Evil Love Appears [2023]afterwards.)

*funny enough, people prefer Evil Love Appears more than this Last Love. Maybe the author got better at charactization, who knows. Or there are too many heavy themes in Last Love.

Well anyways premise is good I guess, but I just don't like Han Jiangque at all. The ML of this story. Wen Ke is fine, but Han Jiangque urgh, he caused so... more>> much trouble in Evil Love Appears. I'm pretty sure that this story paints Han Jiangque in a different light. But with how Wen Ke and Han Jiangque relationship affected Fu Xiaoyu : (Bruh. I can't let that go. Man. I'm still irritated as f. My baby Fu Xiaoyu deserves the world. But I am definitely reading this later on, so im not rating it. I have to see why Han Jiangque acted like a total Buffoon in Evil love Appears. And if his actions actually were plausible. Can't fault a guy for acting s*upid for someone he deeply loves. <<less

I just finished the story and holy crap, my eyes are burning from so many tears. There were times I really thought things would fall apart. I couldn’t see how the author was going to get from this point to a HE. But they did, and it didn’t feel forced. If I have any complaints it’s that it ended too quickly. Once the final conflict was resolved they just cut to 6 years later, but there were certain things I wanted more fleshed out. Like a resolution with the Omega... more>> dad. Or how their relationship changes after the marking. The MC spent so much time and heartache resisting the idea of a permanent bond so when they finally resolved this, I wanted more time dedicated to the happiness of it. His first mark left such a heavy scar on his heart so he viewed marking as dominance and submission. So once his mentality changed I wanted to see the love and devotion between the two with this new bond. <<less

I really enjoyed this novel, my only regret is that there are no extras.

There is some angst sprinkled throughout the novel (some instances more heavier than others) but the story is a HE.

I really like how the author wrote the relationship between the MC&ML. Despite the unwavering mutual affection they had for each other, both parties also had deep scars they were scared to reveal to each other which was ultimately still brought to surface. Although these obstacles were resolved in the end, I was surprised by how layered their... more>> relationship was, which made the story a lot more meaningful to me.

I definitely recommend this novel whether you're looking for something meaningful to read or something angsty to read. <<less

This is where the angst lives.

Really good scene setting and character building. This was one of the rarer types of stories where not every situation had a black and white solution, and the motivations and reasons the characters had for making some of the deciding plot point choices they did were impactful and realistic with lasting impacts on their character design and future actions. This extended to some of the background characters as well, not just the spotlight main couple.

The author did a great job of building up suspense and... more>> turmoil, but the resolution didn't always feel as detailed or cared for. An example of this is when the MC/ML decided to be together. There was a lot of work that went into explaining their histories and why the story needed to start much earlier than this pivotal point; when it did happen, it was very quick and nondescript. The relationship after getting together was sweet and worth the wait, though, and it was clear that they cared deeply about each other.

Overall, good storytelling, good scene setting, but a cerebral story. <<less
