She losses all senses during a confrontation and her mother dies during that confrontation and she didn't even thought things through and blames all it on the other people. Yes those people had played part in her mother's death but she was cause her mother had to get to that point and also she could talk to her mother and explain things rather than that she goes on to fight with her father's wife which was the reason why her mother landed there. Main contention between her mother and her father's wife have been brushed over and never fully explained why her mother was so afraid of her (Father's wife) and there are several things like that never fully explained. She feels more like white lotus who always relies on ML, also her falling into love with ML was also never given enough time to settle. She is always have to look for ML even when they just barely goto know

So far, it's exactly what you might expect from one of these novels, but I will say that it's definitely readable.

There's the standard:

• • Ex-girlfriend of the ML who left him and came back 5 years later expecting things to be unchanged

• • Drugged first encounter between the ML and the FL (bonus: both parties drugged! drugs all round! -_-''')

• • Horrendous wife and daughter of the FL's Terrible CEO Father

• • Terrible CEO Father setting up a blind date selling his illegitimate daughter (FL) to save his company

• • Super rich CEO ML taking an "interest" in the FL and becoming "s*xual partners" (their words not mine) for a give and take of s*x for power

As you might agree, the standard concoction for one of these stories.

There's the less standard, more highly convoluted and infuriating:

• • FL's Terrible CEO Father r*ped her mother who was working at his company, resulting in her pregnancy

• • Terrible CEO Father's wife couldn't handle it and pretends that the FL's mother "seduced" the Terrible CEO Father (TCF)

• • TCF's wife and daughter regularly bully FL and FL's mother

• • After [plot], FL's mother dies and everyone just stands around watching, including TCF.

Briefly, on the characters:

FL's mother: A pushover who devoted herself to her daughter and rapist (ORZ). Even though she is weak you can't hate her to the bone as she has her moments.

TCF & TCF's wife and daughter: the standard. But even more shameless.

ML's ex-gf: as yet unknown. Probably standard.

ML's sister: sweet? Frank. Definitely frank.

FL: Talks SENSE (haaaaallelujah, hallelujah!). She regularly told her mother and her TCF what. Was. Up. She still gave in, but this was because she loved her mother. She is decisive. She is sensible. She goes a little off the rails when she snaps though... >__>''' The only off-key thing she did (so far) was to loudly declare "And remember, I raped you" to the ML. Like -_- dude, r*pe is a serious crime.

ML: He is hung up on his past ex, but he treats the FL decently. Their relationships starts with them having s*x due to both being drugged, and their current relationship is one of give and take, but he's never forced her. Neither has he fallen into any of those other infuriating ML tendencies like: restricting the FL's freedom; making choices for the FL without asking her opinion; manipulating her emotionally. I'd say he actually has some depth to him; he's very clear on what their current relationship is, and although he's very clear that he should not return to his past relationship, he's still struggling.

So... I actually like the FL and the ML. I think they have good chemistry. I think the ML actually has manners. I think he treats others as actual human beings. I think they both have the capacity to think like adults.

Overall: Yeah, I'd give it a read. Is it pretty standard? Yes. But it's on the higher end of standard. You can read it without wanting to throw your computer away from the interactions between the male and female leads.
