Years later, Lin Mo Chen was the owner of a billion-dollar company, one of the youngest influential business leaders in the country.

Someone asked him, “What’s so good about her, that you wouldn’t forget her even after all these years?”

Lin Mo Chen replied, “I also once thought that I deserved better, but who in this world can emulate the woman I love?”

Amongst Ding Mo's works, this story triggered my emotions so deeply. It did not only revolve around the commerce war but the doubts and weaknesses of the main characters. Ding Mo perfectly delivered their daily personal development and how it affects their working environment and personal relationship. The pain that the both MCs felt could be felt through the author's words. Seriously if this is going to turn into a drama, I really should prepare boxes of tissues. I loved how they got through with their ups and downs. They... more>> got separated countless times but fate always brings them together. The author nailed it with the line that they really are not fated to be separated.

Ah, this story really affected me to the point that I even wondered if this were to happen to me, would I be able to be like the MC and become so strong to face all those setbacks she faced?

Overall, this story is truly worth the read. The quality of the story is definitely undeniably high. Recommending it to all of you. <<less

I have read a lot of romance novels before, most of them were easy to give up on the first few chapters, but this? Oh god!

One of the things to actually say about this story, that the Female lead is smart, and not in a I'm-smarter-than-everyone-and-I-figured-everything-out-by-just-a-glance way nopeee. She actually figures out things slowly, learn things beside the Male lead and tries to catch up to him with both intelligence and skills.

Also, the story builds up slowly to reach a point where you are like, yes! Please be together and... more>> I approve. Not just a plain love that was achieved and built over nothing. Another thing I love about this the hinting-not-telling moments, which means they hint stuff here and there with expressions and little conversations rather than explaining everything straight on.

Oh, the translation is 10/10. Understandable and able to capture every moment. <<less

The plot's story is very interesting from the beginning. The male lead is handsome and intelligent, but he is ruthless at the business's world. And the female lead is someone honest and smart with an ordinary life. P.S.: I will hope that someone can continue to translate this.

5 stars for the translator (s) and the translation; 3 stars for the novel. This novel wasn’t my cup of tea. I don’t like reading about (advertised) “strong” female MCs whom are still dependent upon the MLs’ strengths. If the MC was truly strong and mature then she should be able to stand her own ground and with her own strength. I felt the time skip was very unnecessary because all the ML had to do was crook his finger and she was back in his bed. The only thing... more>> that changed was, she got an education. <<less

This is such a good read!! I enjoyed it a lot!! I swear if I didn't saw a review here in NU saying it was HE I would've dropped it because there's a lot of angst I was so scared I thought they might not end up w/ each other. It's also great that the author really made me feel that the ML & MC are really smart.

As a business student, I also learned a lot. When the MC is saying that her blood feels like boiling, I also felt... more>> the same because they are really discussing interesting topics not just about the business world but in life as well.

These are my favorite lines:

Spoiler
  1. The best time usually is also the worst time.
  2. “Everyone dies, only profit is permanent. If the current brands are knocked out the market, there must be a huge room of demand and profit. This enormous new profit, will be whose?”
  3. The weakness of anyone hides at no other place than in his own strength
  4. Opportunities are for those who are prepared
  5. No matter where you are in your life, a person must have the mind to look down and the courage to walk upwards.

I love this so much I guess I'll just spend the quarantine reading Ding Mo's other novels <<less

A very mature and pleasant read. It is very realistic in most regards. That being said- it's essentially a modern, business-world Cinderella story. The romance is slow building and the characters go through a lot of growth. To be honest, if it weren't for this character growth, I would give this story a 3/5 instead of a 5/5. My reasoning for this difference in ratings is because I frankly do not like the ML in the first arc. He is extremely arrogant, cold, calculating, etc. I normally do not mind... more>> characters like this, but I think my dislike comes from him seeming more like a narcissist than a truly logical character that understands human relationships and such. I understand his reasonings for many things and would traditionally side with his decisions, but how his thought process is written makes me immediately want to roll my eyes at him. I nearly set down this book on a handful of occasions. I'm glad that I pushed through, however. I still don't fully like the ML, but I haven't quite read his full character growth journey yet, so that's up to debate, but I do like him much more in the second arc compared to the beginning. I got great satisfaction watching him be humbled by the end of the first arc of the story. The FL is truly the diamond of this read and is who that awards this story the 5/5. Her character growth is amazing. I wish she wasn't so wish-washy at times, but it is this character flaw that makes the story so realistic. She ultimately makes sound decisions btw.

This story isn't a MUST READ by any means, but it's a GREAT read for long car rides. <<less

This series is another interesting one from Ding Mo, this time against a business backdrop. I love how the author weaves the characters again a plot line that is detailed and compelling. These 2 MC I really love. Li Mo Chen, has to be one of the most captivating of Ding mo heroes... so ruthless, really want to see him fall in love. And the female, she is smart and not dense in matters of love. I really hope someone continues the translating please!

fiuh~ reading this novel now actually feels refreshing. I guess I read too much revenge / transmigration / reborn novel which makes me tired of it.

Reading another genre feels good bcs the story focuses on the present. Both FL & ML are smart-ass. Even tho the FL is poor financially and not highly educated but she is passionate abt her job.

Waiting for romance development b/t main leads. It has started but I want more. The ML is also not too prideful so he notices his feeling quicker compare to other... more>> male leads from different novels.

I notice that the previous translator has stopped translating and now picked by NovelMultiverse, hopefully they can translate this novel till the end of story.

BIG THANKS to all translators and team who had been translating Don't Turn For Summer. <<less

I've read almost all the novels from Ding Mo and I've to say that this one will trigger your emotions like a jar of honey and salt. It will be a roller coaster ride to your heart. We've seen in almost every novel about how omnipotent the main characters are... but here, that's not the case. Here, they are somewhere faulty, which makes the characters feel like a human. People falter in the face of temptation, they make mistakes when one is in front of the dead end, humans are... more>> no saint and emotions work with the cooperation of heart and mind and that's exactly what's shown here.

I'd say if you're up for a smooth sailing romance then this is definitely not for you. But if you're looking for a romance with a touch of realism, having ups and downs then this can be a good read. <<less

This novel is so angsty! So angsty! Ughh....

Spoiler

The FL was quite strong despite how the ML treated her in the beginning but the time skip really makes him realize how important she is to him and later, He is the one suffering. I really like the FL and how she is not vulnerable or a door mat. She really suffered alot but pulled through. I Loved her growth, absolutely loved it.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Later on, the ML really treasures her alot. I think he was confused because initially, He thought he was too good for her. But he soon understands his own mistake and realises that he can't live without her.

[collapse]

This novel after the time skip is amazing. Loved it and the side stories are hilarious.

P.S. so glad the annoying *third-wheeling* women weren't mentioned later on in the novel. <<less

The business passion of two protagonists, how they operate start-ups from scratch and their clever ways of eliminating rivals.

Resilience, adversity, ambition, youth and fresh.

This is the real world portrayal and these two characters taught me what being sexy actually means. I am glad that the author could actually create heroine in this work.

read this and be entrepreneur-spirited, guys!

I've read other works by Ding Mo (When He Comes, close your eyes and Pristine Darkness) and the style of this novel is very different from the others but still contained typical Ding Mo elements; disappointment, high emotionally wrecking moments, an unpredictable plot.

"When it comes to relationships, for the men who always rack their brains, the more they do it, the more ruthless you need to treat them. You need to do this until there's nothing left to them but their true hearts." This was said by the ML... more>> and I think it summarizes their love story, a story that started out beautifully but because LMC was more calculative than sincere in his love, he ended up spending years of suffering and loneliness before they reunited.

About the characters, I personally loved the FL; her fight for change, for independence, her will to make a name for herself and be a person she can be proud of, her ability to bounce back from her lowest while being and candid and straight-foward as ever, her strong principles etc. I think her decision to leave the ML to pursue her dreams was necessary for her growth and for their relationship

Spoiler

After all, there were times when Lin Mochen made the difference in status and background between them obvious (like when he was drunk and when he had that episode with Serena) and though she may not have said it aloud, it made her feel inferior and she would never have approached their relationship with sincerity if she had not overcome that barrier by making a name for herself

[collapse]

All in all, no matter what riches you have, what heights you've reached, there will always be an aspect of your life material possessions won't fulfill and love and business are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Sometimes, that love is the fuel you need to go higher. <<less

One of my favourite romance stories on this site. While most romance novels I read feature "smart" and kind female leads, the female lead of this novel somehow feels unique, especially as her character develops throughout the novel. Many have said they didn't like the ML, but I really do — he's arrogant but not hot-blooded or a show-off, and the love story between him and the FL is both believable and immersive. Both characters are likeable but imperfect, and while the story is angsty, it's not completely dog-blooded.

The fist thought that comes to my mind after reading this novel is really "bitter sweet"

I have read a certain review saying : "Amongst Ding Mo's works, this story triggered my emotions so deeply" I didn't understand then until a started reading and then I understood !!! Ding Mo perfectly delivered their daily personal development and how it affects their working environment and personal relationship. The pain that the both MCs felt really could be felt through the author's words and my poor heart experienced a crazy rolloster of... more>> emotions, sometimes it was happy, thrilling, hope and then sweet, desapointment, pain and despair. Personally I hesitated for a long time before starting reading it because I know that I 'll be crying my eyes out and finally I did cry miserably.

You could say that this story is anothor "silent separation" in business world but more impactful and more painful.

to sommum: I rocommend you this novel if you don't have a sensible heart like me !! <<less

This one is not like the other Ding Mo novel for sure. The portrayal of the character is not strong enough. As if this belong to another 'romance specialist' novelist. Don't put too much hope with this. Too emotional.

What a wonderful story, I loved this book, as much as I loved first frost. The main characters are lovable, so much angst in the story. I couldn't put the novel down. I was hooked. Finished reading the novel through mtl raw translation. Grateful for the author and the translators. I hope this story becomes a drama.

This is an incredibly poignant and mature read. The characters are very strong-willed people who understand that all is fair in love and war- in business.

Let's start with the star of this novel, MHX. She is without a doubt, one of my favorite characters ever. She is incredible smart, driven, and even kind. But, she is also ruthless when she needs to be in the road to her goals. She starts as a young and smart 20-something year old and after her journeys, she becomes a strong-willed person who never... more>> loses sight of what is important and who is important.

I really love the relationship in this novel. There are misunderstandings, yes, but the way the characters handle them are unlike any other novel I've read. They are short-lived misunderstandings but the choices the characters make are what adults would do, there are not pink bubbles here. I really enjoyed how their relationship has such strong undercurrents through the novel, from the soft touches on the back of the neck to just their presence with each other. I could vividly feel all the rage, happiness, and sadness the characters exhibited.

We are reminded time and time again that the choices MHX makes are not rash and that everything she decides to do is well-thought out and in her best interest. Even though she loves LMC, she recognizes that they cannot be together in their current early circumstances.

Spoiler

When LMC get involved with the drunk kiss from XN, MHX sees and there is a brief misunderstanding. But the cause of their split is NOT this "kiss" that LMC immediately rejects. Instead, it is the reflection of MHX understanding that as long as the two are not on the same level whether it be monetarily or with education, they can't be together. MHX is constantly reminded that they are not people of the same level. She even understands that LMC loves her in a way she cannot grow or be her own person if she stays with him at that moment. This is something I really admire in her character.

[collapse]

As for LMC, even though he is incredibly ruthless, both he and MHX understand that these are the rules to the game. In the lychee incident, MHX never holds it against LMC, she even recognizes his strengths and goes to stand with him. LMC also knows he cannot compromise his own ideals and goals for her in the beginning. As the story continues and they fall in love, LMC still respects MHX. He never tries to force her to do anything and respects her choices, even her choice to leave him.

A lot of people really dislike this male lead, but I find him painfully realistic. Who would give up all their hard work for a single person? I wouldn't. And even later when they reconcile, LMC is still sweet and incredibly vulnerable. The silent care he has always had for her doesn't change. He plays everything by what SHE wants. When she needs space, he gives it to her. He doesn't even approach her until she comes back to China because he knows that is when she is ready to be on the same playing field as him. LMC is 10/10 one of my favorites of Ding Mo's MLs right behind Ji Bai (LOL).

Watching them continuously miss each other is really painful and you can't help but root for them to be together. My favorite thing about this novel is the understand the couple has for each other. By the end, the understanding and respect they have for each is what makes me really love them.

Spoiler

When ZZ dies and LMC sees what his SZ has done, he does not try to hide what has been done and he doesn't apologize because he knows words will never be enough. But he really did understand what HMX said to HJ. She had said that LMC would understand her thoughts about her plans, that she would never Feng Chen. For this, I believe is why LMC really didn't sabotage their plans even though the story leads us to believe he hurt her. When she asks for him to step away so she can recollect herself, she understands he didn't harm her but still needs to cope and he gives her the necessary space. To the very end, they still love and respect each other

I really enjoyed the pacing of the story, eventually even the technical details concerning the business world - this actually considerably improved the flow of the story. I would say this was not too cliché, quite a refreshing story. An MC that is resolute and independent, although, sometimes not selfish enough to show the world what is hers (in my opinion). In any case, it seems that beyond chapter 64 there is no English translation available anywhere online (the author disagrees? Who knows, it has been a year since chapter... more>> 64 was released), which is very unfortunate - I really would like to complete this story. <<less

As well as other Ding Mo's Novel this installation too full of emotion from love to hate and sweet and sour moments that contain in each chapter made me even cry. Different from other which the plot quiet oblivious this sure so unpredictable~~

If you have a faint heart like me please do prepare a lot of tissues since you really need that. The business theme themself sure grab attention by gave us a lot of thrill from the begining~~
