A extremely refreshing perspective! Normally when you hear ''elf'' you automatically think of those tr*shy *** japanese novels, but a good novel? With a male elf? As the MC?? This is a first (at leasg for me). This is still in its early chapters, but nevertheless holds great potential. It started really good, but then the author forced an ambiguous romance between the 50 year old boomer Elf MC, and some underage 10 year old cat girls he saved from a hate crime.

Right now, it's only the cat girls showing interest, and if it were anything other than eastern literature, that would've probably been it. Regarding the age gap barrier.

Like a kid getting a crush on a cool adult/father or mother figure.

I wouldn't have minded it as much, since it's a Korean novel, and they tend to be more dignified than this, but as far as I can tell, the writing is following the Japanese formula, and I can't trust the lack of a Harem Tag anymore.

I don't know if the MC is gonna subtly raise these kids into Yanderes like dense brick character archetypes usually do, but the very real possibility alone made me drop this as soon as I realized it wasn't going to be a one-off gag. <<less

I genuinely enjoyed this. I'm a sucker for heartwarming interactions between mother and child so I loved that part of the story.

The worldbuilding seems interesting but it's still in the very early stages so we'll have to see more.

The MC is great. Not a wuss like some Japanese MCs. But also a compassionate person willing to go very far to protect some innocent kids. And genuinely thinking about the protection of their race. Also being very protective of his mother is a big plus without a doubt.

The characters all have their way of thinking and doing, have their own story to tell and my favorite part is the MC care about that

It was really fun for the first 100-150 chapters, and then it kinda starts to feel a bit long in the tooth. The distinctive separation for me is that it felt like the characters mattered a lot in the early story, but now they just seem to exist to get to the next story beat/action moment.

Additionally, the author seems to ramble a bit. There are many times in the 150+ chapters where you could just skip the chapter and/or summarize it in a single sentence.

Lastly, while the story does have... more>> some nice unique twists/mechanics I think the author expanded the world far too quickly and failed to properly manage critical characters and expand on portions of the plot like the s*avery group. <<less
