It's super CUTE! I feel really amused reading this whole short-chaptered novel! To take a quote from another novel's title, then it would be "The Pitiful Stand-in Lover and the Scum Boss's Secretary Must Be True Love"!

The MC and ML are not your typical pairing. This is not about an independent Shou and rich tyrant Gong. This is a cute and great story about the "Stand-in Shou" and the "CEO's capable secretary"!

Like, you know, in every story about Companies, CEO, bosses, and the likes, how many times have we seen... more>> the "CAPABLE ASSISTANT/SECRETARY"? They are so capable, flawless, cool, witty, and even very sass sometimes. Some of them even have good look on their own! Most importantly, they are the ones who actually take care of the Boss's little lover, from transportation, life necessity, even their physical or psychological healths! LOL.

So, reading this story makes me amused because the CP is not mainstream. The romance is great! And the couple dynamic is very nice, I like them! They didn't give in the vibes of Fictitious Couple, but more like a REAL and normal couple, because how rationale their relationship at the beginning was.

Lastly, while some novels would antagonize the White Moonlight, the past lover of the Bosses, have we actually thought first, if the Boss is not a Scum who wanted to find a replacement, how could there be a showdown between the Real White Moonlight and the Stand-in Lover? In the end, because there is such a Scum Man who wanted to pedal on two boats, that the dog-blood drama between two rivals is happening.

So, I am extremely satisfied to see in this novel that the Boss was slapped straight, when the White Moonlight leave him, even the Stand-in Lover leave him! LOL <<less

What happens when a just out-of-school university student gets a nurturing contract to act as a stand-in for a big CEO's white moonlight? Will they fall in love or...?

For a short story of around 15 chapters, there are quite a few twists that make the novel really different from the usual substitute-type danmei.

The MC doesn't end up with the scum CEO, but instead he is caught in the carefully woven net by the actual ML. Sometimes I felt slightly sorry for the CEO because as scum gongs go, he was not really the worse (the 188 Boy's Team was much worse). Alas, while the president could not decide, the ML swooped in and got our darling MC.

A really good novel! Even though it is short, it covers the important points of the story. Very much agree with the first 2 reviews! I don't regret reading this ❤️ There's also this twist at the end. For ML, he is slightly manipulative but it is okay because the MC won't suffer since the ML loves him.

I don't know if I'll feel bad about Hou Zhou. Among the scum President, he isn't the worst. He doesn't forces MC to cross the line and their relationship is contractual,... more>> meaning the MC is not cheated and the MC has consent over the relationship. But I really dislike Hou Zhou's indecisiveness that led to his misfortune. Probably, it is unfair for the white moonlight but the white moon light has his own fault when he suddenly left Hou zhou <<less

The CEO was a cannon fodder here ◖⁠⚆⁠ᴥ⁠⚆⁠◗ You know the type of "arrogant, the world revolves around me, I can abandon you but you can't, kneel peasants". Such characters unless they have the plot armour end duh. A protagonist, even if they are scum eventually apologize and move on! The white moonlight moved on.... But the CEO he had it bad. ML was a scumbag. He kinda gave MC to his boss talking advantage of the condition of MC's mother who lasted like a day? He was redeemed though! He helped MC find his parents, got beaten up, helped MC withstand years pretending to be a person without being Mentally abnormal.

Seriously of ALL the characters! ML has a total win! Got a good job, a good marriage, lovely partner and beating your super arrogant boss with eyes on his head! HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO GO THOROUGH CHASING HIS WIFE! He helped avoid MC fall in love with the CEO but with his companionship MC fell in love with him instead! Except for occasional aching of his conscience he got everything. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠ (⁠ツ⁠) ⁠_⁠/⁠¯

MC isn't an airhead either, he's just a kid fresh out of University with some experience in society. He was deceived into signing a contract without fully comprehending what it was. Like can you understand how much pressure a stand-in must go through via dramas? He understands that ML actually cared about his secretarial position. He still loves ML. He knows ML doesn't have to help him and can kinda tell that ML likes him. His music talent is better than the white moonlight!

The Wu family isn't well made. But it's okay for being a background board. I still don't like the white moonlight though. He was made out to be a character to mock the CEO? Or should I say to kick him while he's down? Even the CEO was better written than him! I really can't match the character he was shown to the one he has in the last chapter. He just doesn't click at the right place! He's also very arrogant, taking emotions for granted, running away suddenly and then confidently looking down in the CEO! Bro you aren't much better than him.... Ugghhhh.... I just don't like him or the big brother.... But they are good for background board which they are.

The Sun family. What happened to it? The villains were the past no longer mentioned.... They were the upgraded version of CEO's "Kneel before me peasant". The CEO was only too involved in his imagination and had the overconfidence to play stand-in literature and I'll wait for you to prove my love. He isn't that bad and his ending was quite good for him. If he figures it out he can have character development. The author didn't just destroy him which I really like! He just brought him to reality. As for dislike of WM? Well ex are not always harmonious and ML took him as a love rival soo we can't look at that. I guess he needed a psychologist more than a stand- in.

Amazing short read though.

Logic was a bit unfulfilled like why can't they find the mother for so many years? You are a powerful family for god's sake. There's a thing called police in the world.

I really want to see the POV of the ML! If you look at it from another perspective you may find that the whole thing looked too much like a scheme!

Take away MC to secure his position. Finding out that he loves him. Let's revisit the plan. Finding out MC's background. Making a careful plan. Making MC fall in love with him. Gain the boss trust. Help MC gain extra money. Getting beaten up to arise sympathy. Smoothly moving to his lover's side.

So surprised at how funny this was!! I loved it. Both of the main leads were perfect in this little novel.

Cute short story. MC, Qiao Guangyu, is hired as a stand-in for a white moonlight. However, what's different from other novels is that he manages to not fall for his employer. He's still able to find love with a happy ending.

MC ends up with his employer's secretary, Quan Quan. ML was the one who found MC for his employer. However, he ends up regretting it and becomes protective of MC.

MC turns out to be the white moonlight's younger brother. They share the same parents but their mom was kidnapped and threatened, that's why MC was raised by his mom as a single mother.

Super fun short story.

I love the interaction between the replacement white moonlight (MC) and the secretary (ML) The way they go planning the interactions with the big boss is like strategizing before a big game. "If he feints left then kick the ball to the striker." "Help, coach, help! I've been pushed and the ref is giving me the yellow card!"

Hehehe! It's just too cute. I also really liked the way they wrapped up the story. It was just long enough, with just enough detail and the people who deserved... more>> to be out in the cold had to go and buy sweaters.

Great for a read on the commute home! <<less

It's such a somewhat Unique and Absolutely Well Executed story!

The author did Awesome Job to make the story Clear, To the Point, and well detailed without make things too Short nor too Long.

I truly Love how the story mentioned that being a Stand-In was such a Mental Challenging where people could fall into 'Feelings' and MC was almost fall at the beginning if not for the ML actually help him as The Psychological Support.

ML know everything was his Responsibility and he did Awesome Job! So Awesome that even I would... more>> never saw the sudden second plot arrived out of nowhere but it make sense without being Absurd.

ML was So Thorough, Smart and Hardworker. MC was equally Hardworking but a Silly Cute one with Great Talent.

In a way you can call both are Smart Couple, in Unique way.

All in All I'm Truly LOVE how the author wrote the plots and the flow of the story and all the characters. I'm ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT!!! <<less

This is such a fun read! LOL

I like the cooperation between the MC and the ML. They both liked each other but they both knew how important the money was and so they both worked hard for it despite the troubles that come with being a stand-in and a secretary. It was funny and cute but it must've been quite angsty too underneath it all.

I didn't expect the twist about the MC's family but it was a bit funny too. I really like how even the white moonlight left Hou... more>> Zhou. I thought he would linger around but it's great that he also realized how scummy it was for HZ to hire and stand-in and even want to keep both of them at the same time. Such ew. <<less
