I suggest you don't try the series, IMO it's very mediocre, average, full of cliques with a very annoying MC, in fact, the main character in this series is so goddamn immature that it amazed me like he is probably one of the most immature and childish MC I've ever read in my life, let me tell you why I think this.

The MC is from what I understood an orphan, both parents dead, he has a little sister and they have no financial support from anyone, the MC has to... more>> take a part-time job to pay for their expenses, now from this description, you might think that the MC is a mature and responsible person, no quite the opposite.

There is one scene in which the MC buys a bun (a meat bun, just a normal meat bun) from some store and some rich guy wants to buy the bun from the MC since that bun was the last one, the guy even pays the MC 300$, he has a somewhat bossy attitude, but it wasn't anything overboard, what do you think the MC does? Our super mature MC decides that because that guy 'forced' him to sell the meat bun, he will ruin that guy's whole life (the MC devoured 17 million$ worth of fish from him and basically bankrupted his business) and why did he do that? for a god damned fkin meat bun, FOR A MEAT BUN, holy molly this is when I dropped the series, I've no interest in reading a series where the MC has the mentality of a 12-year-old kid, like really now from his life experiences you would expect the MC to be mature, but no, he behaves just like a ret*rd..... <<less

When you read how a person yesterday was absolutely nobody, today he is trying to look (look and lead, and not seek to become) as the master of the universe. The question is, how many classes did the author of such a work complete and how old is he? After all, such behavior is characteristic of an unreasonable schoolboy, and not a 20-year-old young man? So it turns out that an unreasonable schoolboy, here is not a character, but the author.

This is a hilariously overdone wish fulfillment, face-slapping, overpowered MC cheat system novel. If you want to see MC get the girl and beat everyone who offends him into cruel levels of retaliation look no further. Overbearing young masters can't hold a candle to the overbearing attitude of this new cheat system young master. The author writing the MC as worse in many ways than all the miscellaneous villains one's meant to hate is very impressive.

This novel is filled to the brim with face slapping young masters. It's not even satisfying. All that happens is for some reason, some random rich kid will make an enemy out the main character, they will both spend three to four chapters posturing about their shitty background, and then the main character will break their legs or someone with a bigger background steps on the side of the main character.

I could forgive the novel if it was martial artists doing this, but it's literally just random rich kids and... more>> old dudes trying to start a fight.

EDIT: It doesn't get any better, in fact it gets worse. The main character should easily be the most well known person in the city, and for some reason not a single person in the school knows of him? He literally caused three of the largest families get driven out of the city, owns the most famous restaurant, pissed off every other family, and has two of the strongest families backing him. Surely at this point random young masters will stop making him an enemy right? It's not like the main character is moving around, he stayed at the city since the start of the novel. So irritating.

As for the cultivation aspect of the novel? It's nonexistent. 20% of the novel is focused on fights and cultivation/the system, the other 80% is the main character face slapping young masters and posturing, the further you get in the novel the worse it gets. <<less

In the beginning, this story looks very promising and good, but then cliche young masters started coming everywhere ruining the novel. In my opinion, this novel is nothing special, its a cliche xinxia story, but I gave this 3 stars since of the fact that the MC can become a dragon and non-human MCs interest me.

Very good novel for those who like OP MC (no too op).
Spoiler

But it gets Boring since our MC is always just one level above the antagonist (very little number of exceptions). MC and all of his subordinates can resurrect infinitely (with enough resources).

Good time passer if you can ignore boring fights and non-stop young master slapping.

Actual score: 2.5/5, but I was nice and rounded it up. On a side note, webnovel pretty much translated around 680 chapters, but I think they dropped it coz it's been months since new chapters.

This story is decent (to kill time lol) but very generic. It's a classic cultivator in urban setting type of story. Very cliche in various ways, but executed better than half of the novels of this type (which is half a compliment at most). However, it also is pretty generic (it deserves to be repeated) and... more>> has a lot of things that could be improved.

The protagonist is a bit meh, being one of those I-offend-nobody-but-just-try-offending-me-and-gg-for-you-loser MCs that are common in Chinese webnovels. He also got random inheritance system all of a sudden, so he's pretty much low-key arrogant (I'm saying low-key because the text doesn't make you feel it, but the context does). He isn't a wimp, but the author could've done a lot to make him a profound character.

The harem is so-so - not great, not terrible. As usual, we have no real idea what the women look like, and they could use a lot more characterization. The author doesn't really have much idea how to write about relationships, but at least he isn't one of those personal pet peeve authors of mine who don't know and therefore avoid it altogether, sending love interests away so that they almost never appear. The author could've done a lot to deepen their interactions with MC too. Minor spoiler below.

Spoiler

What I liked, however, was that the MC starts having to choose between two women, and he does choose one initially. However, he ludicrously ends up messing her up so much on their first night (since he's a dragon) that she realizes she can't take him on alone. It's not the best way to handle polygamy, but not the worst, either. Another thing I liked was that not all love interests joined the harem, at least not in the first 600-odd chapters, and it doesn't look like the will

[collapse]

Other characters also could use more developed personalities. Some characters end up fading from the story too, which isn't too great. I would love if MC's subordinates had more interesting personalities too, but...

Spoiler

... it makes sense that they don't, because some of them are animals that are evolving and gaining intelligence, so it's normal if they don't have complex personalities, and draconians are basically brainwashed dudes, so it also makes sense that aren't complex characters. Prime minister turtle shows some promise, but I wouldn't have much hopes for this author's work in that regard.

[collapse]

Plot and plot progression are nothing special. We've got MC leveling up as a dragon, we've got MC building his influence, we've got MC interacting with love interests, and we've got a whole load of face-slapping (well, later it becomes killing offenders outright). The author tends to forget some things (examples in spoiler below this paragraph). One thing I like that there's a lot about exploring and expanding in the seas. This is maybe not a fresh concept, but it's pretty rare in webnovels translated so far. It's at least enough to kill some time, though.

Cultivation setting is too half-assed. More specifically,
Spoiler

I don't like that MC goes and learns human methods of cultivation later on. He should've just kept to dragon abilities. It isn't really fun to read about I-can-do-it-too MC. It would be more interesting if he had obvious weaknesses too.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Examples of forgotten things are the restaurant (it becomes forgotten when MC gets more involved in jianghu stuff) and the whole dragon evolution in the format it initially appeared (there was some baby dragon, adult dragon, and whatnot mentioned at the start, but later MC just levels up and grows physically, while those stages are never mentioned again).

[collapse]

Because the novel is generic, there are many cliches, but it's not as in-your-face as in some other novels.

To finish, I will address some points other reviewers made:

    • people do learn to recognize MC and avoid offending him (but it takes them several hundred chapters and thousands killed by MC in large-scale massacres)
    • there isn't much cultivation at the start of the novel, but it changes later, and we also have some alchemy and crafting (sadly, the author doesn't go into much detail)
    • in 600+ chapters, there indeed are some places where skipping chapters is advisable... I skimmed a dozen or two myself, deciding not to read the same crap and faceslapping plot that had little impact on main story
    • as for repeating things in dialogue (peanut gallery and so on), the first 600+ chapters do have it, but they are not a (very) serious offender
    • the MC isn't worse than minor villains or major villains, because the latter are far from anywhere good, either... which of course speaks volumes about MC too
    • the guy (novelgold) who said MC doesn't try to become a dragon and build dragon palace shouldn't be trusted - MC does try to develop as dragon (just that, like I said before, the initial baby dragon, juvenile dragon, adult dragon etc setting was forgotten and replaced by just levels... MC literally became dozens of times bigger as dragon), and he does get new abilities and whatnot; he also does gather resources for the dragon palace, but it's just that it's hella expensive, and with reason because it's a bit op when it's finally built (and it was also upgraded before chapter 640, sorry, but this minor spoiler won't hurt)... dude, did you even read the story lol
    • the MC is indeed childish, but honestly, he's just a brat who got handed a big cheat, so it's quite believable that the power got to his head... sure, he was orphaned and taking care of his sister, so he should be mature, but when all problems vanish abruptly and he gets handed a great power with tremendous potential, he could realistically just become drunk on his power, thinking that all the past problems are no more, and he doesn't have to be careful and think his actions through so much anymore
    • not all enemies are at or below mc's level in power, especially after more sects appear; however, MC is one of those who fight above his levels, and in that way he is rarely unable to match his enemies (but this is also because he's smart enough to lie low and increase his strength when he isn't confident he can handle everybody in the region, with the most prominent case being when he was in the realm above golden core and waiting until he broke through again before he rampaged around)
    • not all of mc's subordinates can be resurrected in his dragon palace (it was mentioned around ch 600 (roughly) that one or two from his love interests can't be revived)

Like most really long novels, it's great in the beginning where the author sticks to core of the story. In this case, a fairly fast paced story where the MC gets stronger really fast due to him having a system from the Divine Dragon. But slowly but surely, the story slows down and the things just gets dragged on and on to the point where I skip entire chapters and it does not impact me on understanding the story.

Things get repeat anywhere from 3-5 times. One person says "the dragon... more>> king is so strong" second person says "yeah he is so strong" then third person says "of coarse he is strong, he won a 1v3" fourth person say "what? wasnt it a 1v4?" fifth person says"..." and you get my point, a lot of the writing is just garbage gossips and conversation from the gallery or random background characters that adds nothing to the story.

Now I'm reading to the point of chapter 3800s, the author is just making up random crap to fill in the "billions of years" until the calamity.... literally going from thousand year time skips to tens of thousand years and straight to 10-30 f*cking million years. The MC literal says that sitting for 20 million years to wait for a treasure is perfectly fine, when he has only been alive for 2 million years... When you start wasting time and makes those random long time skips, it defeats the purpose of having a system that makes him the fastest cultivator. Directly skipping 20-50 million years basically makes him no difference than any other genius with a peak bloodline. It's boring to continue reading. <<less

Some people read only little bit, and says the novel is worst.

Please read till c500 before you hate comments.

  1. First the System is good, it not the op system, or not the lose system.
  2. It not support MC more or not less, it support medium.
  3. System support, like only making dragon palace, or little bit on some techniques.
  4. All other abilities is not from the system, but from his Dragon Bloodline. So not confused in cheat system. He done all on his abilities.
  5. MC is good on revenge, because if we not take revenge, then other person think we are weak, and use our weakness to destroy us.
That's all, because MC is good, and plot is also good, so I give full stars.
