Fate dealt a hand to Ye Zhao, who became a vegetable after an accident.

Identity: a cannon fodder supporting character despised by her father and vying for affection with her step-sister…

Ye Zhao wiped away the plot and no longer cared about competing for affection. In 1988, when the economy was about to take off, she wanted to realize her dream of becoming a landlady.

With a small piece of turmeric and her bare hands, she embarked on a journey of wealth explosion.

Years later, the successful Ye Zhao was interviewed by a state media outlet.

Media: The neighborhood downstairs was rated as the most commercially valuable business district in the city, but it used to be a barren land. Why did you choose to invest here with your unique insight?

Ye Zhao: Simply because it was cheap, and it was all I could afford.

Audience: !

Media: The Wealth Building is filled with famous enterprises, and it’s difficult to find a room there. It was said to be a failed project at the time. How did you have the foresight to buy it?

Ye Zhao: They begged me to buy it, and I didn’t even want to.

Audience: !!

Media: When everyone else was rushing into real estate, you made a quick exit and instead invested in Xiongmao Communications, which is now the wealthiest company. Did you have the gift of foresight?

Ye Zhao: You might not believe it if I told you, but I was tricked into investing.

Audience: Ahhhhhh! Why wasn’t I the one tricked?!

Media: You and Mr. Luo are the enviable immortal couple of the city’s well-known wealthy family. Can you tell us how you two met?

Ye Zhao: We met through a fight. He was riding his motorcycle and almost hit me.

Audience exclaimed: Did he hit you?

Luo Shen explained: She’s the one who always hits me.

Media: The Luo family is a well-known wealthy family in Hong Kong, and it is said that it’s not easy to be a wealthy wife. How did you fit in?

Ye Zhao: Why do I need to fit in? I am already a wealthy wife.

Audience screamed: Ye Zhao!!!

I LOVE HER SHES SUCH AN AUDACIOUS SMART KIND BADASS b*tch!!!!

I haven't finished this yet but I think first of all the translation could be so so much better but I appreciated the start I guess. Besides that point I feel so refreshed reading this. Like every single book that is about business and is about buying land etc and truly making a lot of money (and not just a fashion business which is fine but there are so many of those w female prog) is always with a male... more>> protagonist. The best ones are obviously the BL books with male protagonist Like "epiphanies of rebirth" which is fantastic.

This book's writing, the translations don't help, feels a little awkward comparatively to that book but the level of business is up there - in terms of ambition. The ambition the MC has as a female character to truly go into business and land whatever is up there. She's not trying to make only one business; she is actually not afraid to do a lot to take risks and to be that bad ass bit*h to be rich. I have only seen this with male protagonists. And the fact that her company is all female at the start? Okay maybe someone could be like that's just intentionally overly feminist or cringe or whatever, but hello every other business novel you read has only male employees unless there's that one hot lady. So stfu This is amazing and I love to see it because I like to see these girls feel like badass b*tches okay because it's doable and you just have to have the courage and money to back it obviously.

It helps that she has family relations to help her at the very start but she only does it after she's cheated them out of money which is pretty f*cking sick I'm not going to lie. Because the a**holes that she does it to deserve it. But besides that, she entirely makes the money and networks all by herself. The ML never really helps her besides being there to be the muscle and occasionally buy her a gift that's like a bass or a camera. I love their dynamic because it's very best friends and Veronica Mars. How Veronica was the detective but that other guy if you remember him was always with her to support her, break down doors and stuff. But like he wasn't the one doing the main work because she is.

So yes this novel And it's writing could be slightly better and way more polished, but I just think what it has inside of it (and the relationships shown and the business aspect) is just so different from any novel I've read so far with a female protagonist I love. It's definitely like ridiculous in a way that you want her to demolish all of these a**holes even if it doesn't really make sense to you: like go off girl. Get them. I don't understand what's going on but I support bc they suck!! It's a fun and EXCITING (for me) read and I haven't finished it but I think It's different and refreshing to me so I think it deserves five stars so far unless the ending completely ruins everything.

Updated: if you like clever bold High EQ / IQ op female protags, best friends as lovers, satisfying (not lazy writing) faceslaps, intricate relationships, business politics, negotiations, trickery & maneuvers, a**holes get slayed, business in the millions, foreshadowing, and low-key mystery, this book just gets better and better as I continue to read T-T fun to read but man capitalism is really a piece of shit. Lol. The ending is very clean cut.

Spoiler

tbh her father could be worse. He's still a piece of shit. And she does call him out multiple times. But he does at least feel guilty and relenr to some morals. But that's it. He's still an asswipe but at least he doesn't ignore the MC's spitting logic and insults.

Her mom is kinda a piece of shit. I mean f*ck. Holy. Updated : ok wow representation but also why does it have to be emo. Still I understand but she's still a sh*t mom. Omg the MC is so right. The mom is worse than her dad!!!

The ends of the villains may feel a bit anticlimactic but I'm glad enough for the clean ending.

A rich-to-richer story with some convoluted family conflicts and a bit mystery in the background. Good ideas and interesting plot development, though I had to reduce the rating due to somewhat weak narrative (?).

In order to live in the new world, the transmigrated MC had to fulfill three wishes of the OG character she took over. Defeat her stepsister, find her mother, and save "someone".

The easiest was defeating her stepsister. The most time-consuming was saving "someone". And the most complicated was finding her mother --this was the source of the... more>> mystery.

While seeking answers, MC stepped forward to climb the ladders of wealth and prosperity. She started as a poor & bullied daughter, but quickly turned around to bully her s*upid rich dad along with other villains. There were lots of business intrigue, but I can't comment because of unclear MTL... I will probably get back to this novel when it is fully-translated in the future.

As other reviewers aptly said, the story had more drama and less romance. The lovey-dovey scenes where other novels can spend a full chapter on it, this novel narrated it in a few sentences. Perhaps, this novel would be more suitable for fans of business/detective drama. <<less

it was okay, started out great, although a little confusion about MC background and the vagueness of the system. Although I had read the prev review, I somehow managed to miss the 10% romance lmao and found it a little sad when it was so lacking in the novel. It was kinda random too lol-lacked depth. The mtl made it so hard to enjoy the novel esp at the later stage. It didn't get more interesting and it felt like the same repeat of buy a lot of land,... more>> properties, set up a business, invest all the money earn more money and invest again... the business ventures didn;t draw me in or give me any particular thrill reading it and the lack of 'hidden vests reveal' is just disappointing since thats what makes such novels interesting. The face-slaps are meh and tbh the main conflict with ogMC n her family as well as ML n his family is anti-climactic and just so-so.

it;s not a bad novel as such, decent to pass the time ig.

Probably 60% career development, 30% drama, 10% romance.

So if you're for the romance (I was) this is not for you cause it's really minimal. But I did like the way they get along both before and into the relationship.

If you're for the career, I can't really evaluate it cause I don't understand most of the business terms here lol. But it was also great seeing how YZ rose step by step. And the business wit showdown was also entertaining.

But if you're for the drama, then you're in for... more>> a good tea. As for your expression after you finally get a taste of the tea, I guess it's a matter of preference. And I'm not talking about step-mother drama or YZ's money disputes. I'm talking about og!YZ's background history. It's actually what kept me entertained enough to finish this novel. (cause I'm mostly into romance and I didn't understand business terms) As it slowly get unfolded, I almost crushed this teacup multiple times. When I got to the depth of it I just wanted to switch this tea with alcohol, drink it straight, and smash the teacup. An analogy is all you get cause any spill is a spoiler but d*mn. <<less
