This novel was pretty good and refreshing. Although I skipped some chapters (at 100+ch. arc's - not all of them), I really enjoyed reading it

MC and Ml

They are quite ruthless. In one of the arc's, MC paid some old creep money to keep one person (not ml) safe, although he had enough money and power to send him to prison. And ML was ok with it. And they also skinned and ate tiger cup (and it was not necessary - they were sitting at palace) . I was okay with it, but if you are vegetarian or vegan that may be a lil bit disturbing.

Their relationship, on the other hand, is quite perfect. MC is affectionate towards ml, and ML is also very caring (although he has memory loss). You just have to wait a little bit until later arc's.

World setups

They all are quite good, but I disliked a "feminist" one. They kind of demonize women and show matriarchy similar to patriarchy during Middle Ages at the modern world. This setup was... quite unnecessary, especially considering the fact that it had no impact on the plot.

Side characters

Plain and simple, but I don't really pay attention to them, so it was okay.

Seems like it's a similar premise to 'Strategy to Capture that Scum Gong', but the main character is a lot more emotional, which is unusual for these types of novels. Usually the MC would be unaffected by the actions of those around him, but this one takes it personally. It's refreshing, but I'm not sure if it'll continue to be as fun, since the MC is already showing a little emotional instability...

The arc is so long... Each chapter is short so it makes sense that the arc is long, yet I cannot really muster my attention for so many chapters. Arc 1 ended at chapter 108, I managed to mtl until chp 40 and then just skedaddled to chapter 100. It seems the first arc is the only one that was over 100 chapters, but the other arcs are mostly above 50 chapters too.

I actually like this kind of story like Scum Gong, and better yet, it wasn't filled with r*pe... more>> here r*pe there, but just too long for me (especially since the story is quite simple and cliche). I'd probably come back to read this after enough buffer time since I do like the MC and the plot. <<less

Short, 1v1 in a variety of world settings.

As other reviewers have noted, it is somewhat similar to Scum Gong but also different because of Xie Yu's personality.

Xie Yu is not out to abuse his targets- his goal is to earn affection points, and he is perfectly willing to spoil and shower ML with love in order to complete his task. But when he meets a dog man, it's only obvious that MC will abuse him in turn.

Xie Yu is enthusiastic and willing to take initiative to approach ML, and he sometimes comes off as corny due to his little "love at first sight" excuse. But he pulls it off as ML is moved by his sincerity over time. In fact, MC downright goes OOC in some worlds and turns into an obedient little baby in front of ML despite his character settings. Hilarity ensues as side characters wonder if the original has been possessed (yep).

A big plus point for this novel and what makes it work is that MC often transmigrates into characters of high standing. He is not a helpless white flower like in many other QT novels. Put into other terms: Xie Yu is the sugar daddy, not the sugar baby. His willingness to lower himself and give everything of himself to ML is what wins ML over.

Regardless of Xie Yu's standing, he is never weak or emotionally vulnerable- although he does get annoyed and vows to take revenge on ML later for scumbag actions.

What also makes this novel fun is that not all arcs are dog blood abuse. ML is sometimes very sweet and respectful, sometimes very pitiful and desperate for love, and other times scummy and deserves a beating. Occasionally, Xie Yu is the scum instead.

My favorite arc is probably ARC7 with dragon MC x fraud ML. ARC9 wins for best scum abuse with medicine jar ML who wants to kill MC.

It's 1v1 because while MC does like good looking faces, he is especially good to the targets of various worlds because they resemble his ex-boyfriend. Makes sense since it is ML playing the role with no memories.

Overall, great read. Chapters are very short, so each arc is actually rather short, high-paced, and to the point. <<less

Yep, the other review is right. This novel is quiet similar to many bl novels with scum ml. The novel in the beginning was really good especially the Arc 2-5 cause the MC was quiet fun but jn last arcs, I dont like the MC. Its like glow down of the novel because the MC kept babying the ML like in the last three arcs, it ticks me off. The ML turn useless.
