For example, one of the characters wanted to resign from her job and she did that. There weren't any extra side quests where the MC or ML needed to "rescue" them. I hope there won't be.

The best example is probably the MC and the ML's relationship. So far, there really isn't any, which might be a little bit surprising if we're basing on the vibes from the title. To her, he was the child's uncle and her financial backer. To him, she was the child's emotional support and the creator of his sleeping pills... or sedative coffee in this case.

There wasn't any instant feeling of possession or attraction from either party, which will hopefully continue for a little longer.

When MC wanted to refuse his offer to go with them (because she wanted to avoid the possibility of her life ending in his hands like in the novel), he promised to invest in her shop in the capital. No emotional manipulation or blackmail or threats, and I'm more than happy with such an ML, believe it or not.

Another moment I particularly liked was when ML made MC go with them to the imperial palace because he knew that the child needed her as emotional support. He may have declared he didn't need or want affection, but he wasn't going to sh*t on other people for that. I'm begging for other MLs like him!
