I like it. Basically a redemption novel for the character of the world who is a waste of life who could've been something. MC replaced him. Where'd the original go? No idea. And also, MC is a Swordsman! Not a mage. Not a magic swordsman. A pure swordsman! I wonder how he'll do against magicians, dragons, demons, and such.

idk why so many 5 star review.

Spoiler

this story is about collecting female first and everything else second.

MC literally speak and act ambiguously everytime and it easily created misunderstanding.

the narrator is also unreliable. Theres big differences between dedicated teacher and seeking harem. No teacher would kidnap UNDERAGE girl in FRONT of her friends at MIDNIGHT into HIS PLACE.

[collapse]

read this if you want easy women collecting simulator.

I dont like rating novels so early at the start, but sometimes it has to be done.

The translation I've read so far, up to chapter 30, is horrendous and trying to puzzle out who or what is talking, doing something is a massive effort on its own.

The story itself was pretty bland and lacking entirely in tension, though I'm not sure if that's just the story or a result of the translation.

This story doesn't tread any particularly new lines, the MC transmigrates into a random villain in-story but doesn't get... more>> the benefit of the villain's memories, so the guy doesn't know what the heck is happening other than what he has already learnt from his original world.

He also doesn't try to hide or run from the plot line and practically adopts the protagonist of the plot right off the bat, which is nice.

He spends the rest of his time trying to improve his skills, but there aren't really any challenges and some of the things he does doesn't really make sense, although again, I'm not sure if that's because of the story itself, or the translation.

For instance, early on there is a duelling competition between the instructors and some random knights. But why? No one ever explains it.

The MC supposedly refuses to join, but the very next chapter he does join, but again how that happened, and why, isn't clarified.

Many of the interactions so far are like that. Things are happening, but I cannot understand why or what. And so, I gave up after 30 chapters of this nonsense. <<less

Enjoying this so far. It's not plagued by a lot of the common tropes of the genre (misunderstandings, characters witnessing the MC perform saintly acts one after another and still doubting them for hundreds of chapters) which is a breath of fresh air. MC is also seemingly competent and intelligent and makes use of his modern day knowledge of physics to interpret the magic/fantasy systems which is nice to see and gives him a plausible edge over other characters who don't understand concepts like gravity, matter, etc.

4 stars for now... more>> since it seems promising. <<less

It's nice seeing so many mtls getting proper translations these days. Since the beginning has been kinda explain by the other reviews. I'll just talk about the later parts. First thing I liked was that he isn't super overpowered, of course there's still some plot armor but what can you expect. In the beginning, you might think he's over powered because he's just beating everyone with training even tough he has never held a sword before. But that's just among his peers at the school, later on you'll see that... more>> many entities can just destroy him. Ofc privia (best gurl) can just help him. Another gud thing is that there ain't no weird ass romance. Except that one time he saw his sister in a bath towel, which I honestly don't get why author-nim added because she ain't a love interest. The only love interest are privia and hailey, and Ophelia if you can count her. In case some of you don't really like age gaps I just list the ages. (Mtl names might differ from translation) Lua is 14, and since she is first year and hailey is third year, so she probs 16 or 17. And Privia is a dragon so ye. The reason why I don't consider Lua as a love interest is because she doesn't act like one at all, ofc she still likes MC but she more like a lil sister or somethin and Privia might be a bit annoying in the beginning but she gets better (like chap 70, but peak Privia is after she reforms). Novels like this feel like a harem ending after a time skip which is completely fine with me, though some people might not like it. Lastly there are chapters that are just there establish relationships between characters. Like sometimes there's just some chaps that are dedicated to side characters building up their relations with each other and it isn't just all females around. Well, mostly but in his club there's two males. Though they're not really mentioned all that much, at least they are included. Overall, it's aight but for NU I think it's valid, I can explain more but can't really remember since I read too much that the plots for novels gets discombobulated in my head. So just go for it, I honestly think it's better than the other novels on noblemtl, since I rarely read to the latest chapter for mtl and did for this one. <<less

I had a lot of hope going into this novel because the synopsis sounded interesting and it had high ratings. But this novel is really dull (and I'm speaking as a huge fan of slice of life novels).

MC spends way too much time in his own head trying to figure out how the world/powers work, but somehow it's still very poorly explained. The author tries to insert tension/conflict, but it's always resolved within a couple paragraphs.

MC is a genuinely a super likeable dude. So likeable, in fact, that he very quickly bulldozed his old terrible reputation in rather record time. I like his researcher-like perspective in approaching Sword Aura. While story itself still seems in the formation stages, it looks to be interesting. We know that there is a giant demon army invading somewhere and that some of the students he is fostering might be the key to do something about that. Beyond that, MC has basically been playing catch-up regarding his personal life and... more>> subtly altering future events when he can.

Edit: Story has remained interesting throughout. My only gripe is that it appears the author keeps introducing characters and then forgetting about them for long periods of time, spreading their appearances thinly. Other than that minor gripe, the story is quite engaging. <<less

The story was pretty interesting for the first 20 chapters, but then the story quality took a hit. Power ups and items that took a few chapters to get are dropped immediately, without even being used once. Some of the actions the characters take are just unexplainable, and even if you try to apply some suspension of disbelief, it's too hard with all the nonsense that's going on.

The same happened with the translation, you can barely tell who is talking, and you need to re-read parts of the story multiple... more>> times to make sense of what's happening. For example, paragraph 1 could said that John was going shopping for a weapon with Mary. Next paragraph talks about how John is now shopping with Jean. And the next says how they found the armor that they wanted. And the pronoun used for the characters change all the time, so you are still not sure if Jean is male or female. Another thing is how selective the novel is with the MC knowledge. The guy could remember the 16 movement sequence to unlock a secret staircase, and obscure trivia that nobody knows to pass some tests, but is absolutely clueless about the overall plot of what's going on around him

Pretty interesting idea for a novel that sadly was handled poorly <<less

I've only read until chapter 10.

Not much happening yet, but here's what I thought about what did happen and what I assume will happen.

Reincarnation into a game is a very convenient excuse for any author to instantly make MC go stronger. For me, what author did in this 10 chapters feel lackluster, like MC conveniently gained sword understanding because he got reincarnated into a talented person, so it's too easy and there's no suspense at all. Even a typical plot of game stats/skills system is a better way to get... more>> stronger as MC got reincarnated into a game in the first place.

And then the so called "hidden pieces", I don't like it when there's no proper world-building yet (or the world-building is just a plain boring info dump) but MC already got hidden pieces left and right.

I don't like how other characters didn't think about or outright ignoring MC's suspicious and questionable actions
Spoiler

the waifu sword didn't question about how he knows what he knows (a lot of things) ; op archmage who kidnapped og protag's twin brother ignored how MC suddenly ask her to take good care of the brother, even though he's only a stranger to them, and in the first place that's not what he can say as someone who knows nothing and got no connection to them (according to the archmage pov, so it'll make more sense if she at least got suspicious of MC or doubtful if someone from her side leaked the information outside) ; og protag's roommate doesn't question how MC hugs her and then outright bringing her into his room, even though they were in the same room previously (MC got a real bad reputation ffs, why does no one think or got suspicious at least when he brings a girl, underage no less, to his room at night)

[collapse]
and some other I don't remember. In short, the story suddenly got real weird sometimes, even though it was okay previously.

And I could smell it already. Handsome MC and weirdly skewed male:female ratio of important characters. I bet this story will be the usual MC's pokemongirl collecting journey. I don't hate harem, but easy harem typically lead to the deteriorating of story quality.

In summary, I think it'll be a slice-of-life harem story with a non-existing plot, or author will forcefully introduce crises just to make it less boring (either MC said "oh this didn't happen in the original story, did I change the future?" when a problem occured with no foreshadowing, or villain that get no proper introduction and just got mentioned in a couple sentences attacked the academy just to be MC's and og protag's experience point).

TL quality is good for the first couple of chapters, but it changed into somewhat edited MTL later.

I won't rate it yet, and I will update this review later after I read some more. <<less

Showed a lot of promise at the beginning but took a nose dive around c30. Seems like the author doesn’t know where the story is going. Added a much hyped ancient OP dragon and she does nothing but follow the MC around and praise his intelligence while saying “I’m not usually this easy to manipulate” and then does whatever he says.

One of the better novels on NU. I have a good time reading this.

It’s unique enough that it doesn’t feel used up, although it doesn’t reinvent the wheel.

Basically, there are many more female characters than male, but they also differ, so you can definitely remember names.

Also, the female characters are not just for fantasy fulfilment, so it’s also about interpersonal relationships instead of c*p size.

The character was surprisingly pleasant to read about. He hasn't gone through 180 degree change from the original owner of the body which was a new one for me. Also I love how the female characters have been introduced, unlike pardon me, just my view nothing else, japanese novels where the female characters just fall in love with the MC and the MC just thinks of them as sisters, it seems so that the ffemale characters have much more personality. I like how they often have a love hate relationship,... more>> and as for the I forgot the name, the one who needs the golden seal, she wants to have a closer relationship with the MC not just for her personal feelings but it'd would be beneficial for her future. <<less

Despite being competently written, at its core, this story is lazy and disingenuous. It seems to be copying the popular tropes of the MC being isekaied into a villain of bad reputation, and therefore having to struggle and scheme their way to survival, but actually the MC's reputation issues are quickly solved and they quickly pick up cheats for infinite money, powerful seniors who can bail them out of dire situations, and so on.

With that said, the core conceit of a mildly OP isekaier doing their best as a teacher... more>> is pleasant enough and more or less well executed. If you don't expect too much from the story, it's decent material to turn your brain off with. <<less

The premise Is nice but the execution is dull, there is no tension and the MC isn't interesting, the romance could've saved it but not as a harem.

All in all I Don't recc this unless you have nothing better or new to the genre

The idea is good. The implemented elements are thought out, and it doesn’t progress too fast. The translation is well done as well. However, the Harem trope is definitely showing its colors. Also, some things are just not lining up. Although, it’s better than most stories I’ve read.

It gets a bit boring and repetitive? But it’s alright.
