The antagonist boss, Shang Lu, has a reclusive and melancholic personality. He is extremely cunning and mercilessly eliminates anyone who betrays him, leaving them in a miserable state worse than dogs.

After an unexpected death, Su Banxia transmigrates into the role of the supporting character who abandoned the boss on the wedding day in the book.

Su Banxia: ‘…’

Thinking about the tragic fate of the supporting character in the original book, Su Banxia feels a chill run through her body. Running away from the wedding brought great shame to the boss, who solemnly warns her with a dark expression, ‘You better behave.’

Su Banxia: ‘Yes, of course.’

The life of the wealthy family is so blissful that there’s no need to risk her life.

The system says that she needs to get closer to the boss to stay alive. So, she tries every possible way to get closer to him, help him out of crises, and lead him out of the darkness.

Shang Lu assumes that Su Banxia will see him as a devil or a fierce beast like most people would. However, to his surprise, not only does she not run away, but she also occasionally shows affection towards him.

‘Shang Lu, you are the best, no one can compare to you.’

Finally, after completing the plot and regaining her destiny, Su Banxia takes the initiative to propose cancelling the agreed-upon marriage contract.

Shang Lu stares at her with his dark eyes and says in a deep voice, ‘Don’t even think about leaving me.’

Su Banxia: ‘What?’

I'm conflicted. The premise is good, but the execution is flawed, and parts of it seems to be borrowed from other works I've read, which isn't a big deal, but the author seems to have FL abandon one of the system mechanics because of the relatively low return;

Spoiler

FL should essentially be doing dailies to accumulate points, but that's fallen to the wayside around halway through because the rewards and their leveling requirements seem to be too much of a hassle I guess.

[collapse]

Also, I really don't like it when the ML is a full-on working adult in a position of power (nepotism or no) while the FL is still in college. It's kind of icky.

The face slaps are pretty mild and aren't too satisfying. FL's family matters also wrap up a bit too quickly and cleanly. Overall, it's way too short for how many plot elements the authot introduced. More issues:

The divorce and FL's interim company involvement needed much more fleshing out, as did FL dad's post-divorce life.

ML's dad died so unexpectedly and without any build up. It didn't feel that impactful.

And what happened to the friend? Why introduce her and her relationship if we weren't going to get follow up details?

[collapse]

The ending is basically just a summary and an anti-climatic line.

2 points for the potential. -3 for the disappointment <<less
