Please use proper spacing and paragraphs. In the pit of blood, which proved to be the site of a demon summoning, there were the remains of twelve bodies without their hearts. Then, in the center of the pentagram, the scattered corpse slowly rose. The tattered pieces of flesh clumsily stitched themselves together, and it gazed down at itself. “I guess it’s going to be a little tough,” muttered the seventh great demon of Hell, scratching its cheek. The shell it had possessed was that of a girl born of s*ave blood. She had to become the noblest of rulers on earth with this body.

- In the first half, MC's journey reads like the making of the 'Monstrous Northern Duke Male Lead' trope from romance manhwas, which is really refreshing and fun haha
- main character is female, which is extremely rare for this genre. She does spend a lot of time dressed up as a man, but in the final ~60 or so chapters she is mostly openly woman. Oh, the devil also originally preferred the female form.
- although there are a lot of setbacks in this story after the first 100 chapters, MC's comebacks are always absolutely EPIC
- MC is great at manipulation, it feels good to see the results of her schemes come to fruition
- there are quite a few decently written and interesting side characters
- there are several turns this story takes which are really unexpected
- evil MC is actually evil (which can be both good and bad tbh)
- although this story probably contains every trigger warning in existence, I like that it doesn't heap graphic r*pe scenes on us. There are definitely mentions of r*pe and assault happening because this world is grimdark, but there is no gratuitous s*xual abuse and violence for male readers to jerk off to
- this is written in a style that's easy to understand even in mtl, so you can read it on the original Korean site (if you don't want to buy chapters, you can read 1 chapter for free every day, and the first 20 or more chapters are free)
Things I didn't like so much/outright hated:- For the first 100 chapters or so MC is such an amazing manipulator and reached such a peak that it feels like the author took one look at her, realised she's too OP for the rest of the story, and nerfed her by making her make bad decisions that don't make sense for the next 200 chapters. Some of MC's abilities get completely forgotten in the second half of the story, and she needs someone else to learn basic manipulation tactics that she used herself in the first 20 chapters for some reason. A lot of Korean commenters also expressed the same frustration, so it's not just me being picky.
- There is a lot of humiliation and really gross stuff like people getting pissed on, living in the barn as human pigs, etc
- The ending felt somewhat weak and rushed, even though it fits quite well
- The author's inspiration for this was something along the lines of 'evil cannot be changed or controlled' and as the MC is true evil, she destroys some people who sincerely help and follow her without any regret (though of course she does have some henchmen and advisors who survive till the end and she has a good relationship with)
- Wasted opportunities with some of the land development plotlines. The first half of the story follows MC as she builds up her territory among other things, but we barely see it in the second half and some plot threads get abandoned. Like, for example, MC got the head of the best university to come to her territory after retirement and become an even cooler founder of the first university in the north... but till the end we don't see it happen.
- Constant up and down is frustrating. MC falls from grace a LOT! The only thing that kept me reading was that I read the ending in advance when I was in the middle of the novel, so I knew it would end all right. Also, as I've mentioned, MC's comeuppance moments are all amazingly cool, dramatic, and cinematic.
- Some of the ending bits were a bit too over-the-top for me.
All in all, although some of my complaints are quite big, but I still ended up enjoying this story a lot for MC's brilliant scheming, her being an apologetically evil female protagonist, great character interactions, lack of graphic r*pe everywhere, and vividly dramatic scenes.
