Quite interesting story with a decent, not OP (so far) MC and acceptable characters.

Main problem I see is with the logic of "monthly" examinations that can be lethal to some students (and they know it!) with completely inadequate compensations: it's really not worth it to take part in any of them.

And the most s*upid thing is the duration of those examinations - they train for a month and have a three months long exam afterward.

The beginning was very good, but then it got messy when there was more political struggles and loli whatsh*t nonsense and the focus turned from the MC to the worlds.

The ending of the big enemies felt anticlimactic, and near the end it turned more and more into a tragic drama rather than an epic story.

It had a very good potential, tbh. Very very good, in the beginning, in fact. I had much expectations because it was kind of like Hogwarts with game elements. Unfortunately, the development later was disappointing.

I don't... more>> know if it was the real ending or there will be next volume or something. The story just got stopped in a very abrupt and shitty way. Perhaps the author got tired of it and decided to quit, Idk.

It was such a shame, really. If only it didn't turn out to be a sad drama of political strives, sacrifice of the world, and collecting lolis, and better qualified enemies....

Sigh, I sincerely hope this got remake. But oh well.

At least the author had a very good idea of a story in the earlier parts. It was quite entertaining for a while. <<less

I have quite a mixed opinion for this novel.

The begining was really good with a clever but discret MC, with an interesting goldfinger and with a very good world building. So I was quite happy to find quite a good and unknowed novel for once.

But after the MC reached the first threshold of the cultivation system (Black iron level), or even during his first experience in the "other world", things go in a completed different direction.

The novel is no more only focussed on the cultivation principles, on how to become... more>> stronger and get new skills, but more on legends and politics.

The MC, because his cultivation level is weak, is like a leaf in a very agitated sea. Instead of spending his time to use his goldfinger to be stronger the way you would use his gift, the MC is ploted against the big bad guy (unfortunately revealed too early in the novel) or even people from his own world.

It is a sharp contrast with the premise of the first chapters. The MC is no more "clever" in his decisions and even if he has lots of thing to learn at the academy, he still spends his time worring about things he can't change.

Now, this part of the novel is not that bad, and is still entertaining, but it feels quite a waste of potential compared to what I had expected.

ps: the mtl quality is quite good :) <<less
