Honestly it was an okay story. I just found it a bit tedious and boring to read so I'm dropping it where the translations left off.

It has a lot of drama regarding MC's past that led to the mpreg and the start of the story where he accidentally meets the sp*rm donor and then the child. The story then tries to go the romance route whereby the child wants to be with the MC and ML then makes a contract before realizing that he's fallen for MC. MC is cold... more>> and indifferent to ML but adores the bun. ML thinks of using the bun to attract MC's attention but luckily that stops fast.

I just felt that the chemistry between the two leads were very lacking. And the drama between the surrogacy and exboyfriend is so annoying?? The ex bf character is quite narcissistic and annoying but I felt that he didn't deserve his ending.

Spoiler

Somehow he got kidnapped by ML's enemies cause he is also ML's ex bf of four years. Got into an accident, and became deaf in one year and his career is jeopardized. Like wtf. His father was a screw up to cause problems to MC and he was a scum but I don't think he deserved that too. Anyway this irked me.

[collapse]

The only saving grace of this novel is the cute bun but I couldn't go on. <<less

I read this just for their kid Dou Sha, so I can't write a proper review as I mostly skimmed the other parts. It took quite a few chapters for them to finally meet and reunite, and I loved the scene. Dou Sha is so cute, while he's described originally as indifferent & independent, the moment he meets MC, his birth giver, he's sticking to the MC everywhere and needing to be coddled. He usually never cries, even when he's being hit, but he starts brawling when he meets MC,... more>> and is so embarrassed later. He likes to act like he doesn't care about his dad (ML), it's hilarious when he's like "I'm gonna send you to a retirement home in the future XD Also, in the beginning he makes his dad promise to chase MC, but then later when ML's advances are failing, DouSha is just like "whatever, he likes me! So it's okay."

I liked that the novels switches POV, so you get to see the perspectives of all the characters.

Some aspects of the novel made little sense, like how MC got pregnant and all the drama behind it, but lets just ignore all that....

While the relationship between MC and Dou Sha moved very fast the moment they meet. So far, the relationship between the MC and ML is still pretty lacking. The ML falls for the MC fast, I think a lot of it had to do with how much he liked seeing MC and his kid bond. ML attempts to woo the MC, but he's pretty terrible at it. He's the typical cold, aloof and rich ML, and the MC is the cold type as well, and doesn't give ML any chances to make advances, he just wants his baby. So his only shot is using DouSha to help. <<less

Very fluffy and heartwarming, especially when Wang Yincheng meets his son. Though this story definitely struggles a bit concerning the actual plausibility of events that occur in the novel

Spoiler

ex. The whole male surrogacy thing, since Wang Yincheng was said to actually be carrying the child, with the big belly and everything, as well as the secret magical hormone drug that apparently makes men able to carry children. Since I MTLed it it’s possible I missed some details, but from what I know there was nothing about developing a womb so where did he carry the fetus???

[collapse]

the drama was resolved quickly to make way for the love and chasing <3 the author even added a note on one chapter that they were planning on wrapping up the part with the scum former lover because even they couldn’t stand it anymore XD.

I personally adored the MC. Though he sometimes came off as terribly cold and some of his decisions may seem reproachable to some readers, I can understand that he
Spoiler

did so because the events gave him a huge trauma, and it’s not surprising that he wouldn’t have many good feelings about the fetus, especially since it was forced on him without consent.

, showing a mature outlook and a “things have passed, and it’s best to just pass each other by as strangers than hold on to grudges” kind of outlook. This can be really rare too, so it was refreshing to see an MC that acts like a responsible adult concerning emotional affairs.

The ML was also really good. He did his best to understand the feelings of the MC and respect him. As of where I am right now, he does not force the MC as many danmei novels unfortunately like to portray. He respects that the MC is a character with his own pride and ability, and instead wholeheartedly devoted himself to wooing the MC without crossing boundaries *crossing my fingers that this won’t change*

One thing I felt was lacking was the portrayal of the relationship between the ML and MC’s former lover. They’re supposedly boyfriends, but
Spoiler

seeing how quickly and easily ML broke up with that scummy ex-boyfriend of the MC despite them supposedly having 4 years of “affection” (very hesitant to label it as that, since it looked more like a sugar daddy type relationship)

[collapse]
as well as how little time it took for the ML to get over it (did he actually care to start with, though?) means I didn’t really “feel the love”, so to say. While I have to admit that I kind of liked it that way, because I couldn’t stand how narcissistic the ex-lover was as well as how blind ML had to be to willingly spend YEARS with this person, I have to admit that it didn’t feel realistic.

Dousha is adorable, even though he flips between acting like an iceberg teenager (do I spot an iceberg CEO in the making) and a kid his age. I also admit to feeling odd whenever I see his name because my mind automatically thinks about dousha stuffing in baozi and then I question the naming choice.

Would I read it again? Perhaps, if I really wanted something fluffy. For where I am now, there’s little drama after the “big unveil” of the MC’s past, so it’s more slice of life? Not too plot heavy, so for people who want that dogblood drama there’s little to be found here. <<less

Okay did the author made his research?...

According to what I learned, in the terms on surrogacy, the MC will carry a baby for another person. By any means, he got paid, and that it is in no way he can be considered a donor.

Now that we know this, shouldn't the MC know the father of the one he will carry for?

What I meant by saying this is because in the description, it says "Wang Yincheng did not expect was that the six-year-old son of that indifferent president looked strangely similar... more>> to him by as much as seven points out of ten."

And like c'mon shouldn't the MC know who the father (the one he bears the child for) is?

Because there should be an agreement and this make no sense that he doesn't know the father of his child... <<less

I really love this novel. ❤️ I mtl-ed it until the end and will reread it again. ? It's a family-centered story and there is really a balance between the ML chasing the MC, and the MC caring for the cute bun.

Spoiler

Dousha Bao will have a cute sibling.

[collapse]

I also read the story of Liu Heng's brother. It's also cute and I love it. ?
Spoiler

Liu Heng's brother met his wife unexpectedly and they also have a cute son and also twins.

Too few review, too low rating and there's a decent number of chapters already available. The story is not really bad (troll voters)... it's pretty cute and fluffy the part I like the most is that there's a heavy exposure of the kid, Dousha. He is so cute. There is a very sad story of human trafficking behind MC's pregnancy you'll understand later as it slowly reveals. The couple are both victims. MC and ML's meeting is pretty serendipitous and lovely.

However, for those that are new to mpreg, better... more>> not start with this one bcos leans more on logic-bending (mpreg) fantasy which does not match the modern setting otherwise, just easily gloss it over. One thing to note is the wedding is super sweet and detailed. The story has the potential to be dog blood but it never went that direction but just focused on the good things. It left a few plot holes but author kept the focus on the couple and not stray off the topic (just to chase dog blood) is a good choice so I'm alright with that. <<less

To the person upstairs, MC didn't know the ML when he became a surrogate because he was forced. Don't you think it's to much to let that kind of writing mistake slide in the work? Someone obviously didn't read through the novel

Though I did not read much but it's a interesting read. The only problem is I am quite not satisfied with the translations as I am not able to understand the chapters. Maybe it's my problem but yeah I wish someone else could pick it up to translation.

By the way thankyou translator-san for bringing this sweet and fluffy story and especially our sweet and chubby "Dousha bao" to us.I appreciate your efforts.☺️

The plot is good. I quite like it that's why I'm reluctant to drop this novel. But, on most occasions where author describes whoever is indifferent/cold yet acts differently afterwards just don't sit well with me. I get it, okay, the ML/MC or whoever is such and such, but explaining it repeatedly makes me disinterested.

I read MTL'ed novels, so wrong grammar or what not is no big deal for me, but the way how the author describes someone as indifferent/cold repeatedly made it too much for me to enjoy what... more>> I'm reading.

Again, I really like the plot and my mind can't stop imagining what would happen next even right now. But... *sigh* 'Will read this novel again some other time maybe. <<less
