This is one of few entertainment themed novel that got me hooked. It kept me alternating between wanting to know more about the MC's acting career, their relationship, and the mystery of the past. Which, in itself, is quite rare that I care about every part of the plot pretty equally.

At first though, I almost dropped at around chapter 20 because the ML was such an inconsiderate, out-of-touch-with-reality a-hole, seriously, I'm still slowly getting over that. But as the story unfolds you kinda get to know more about his psyche... more>> and it became somewhat understandable (still, inexcusable). The relationship is being built up nicely. The banters between them and their dynamic are precious.

It wouldn't hurt if you give this story a try. I like that it stays relatively grounded to the realistic side. Gaining popularity isn't done in a flash. Career and talent didn't magically happen. The CEO bears real responsibility and is actually busy with work.

Translation being good and writing flowing nicely is definitely a plus.

I would love it though if the MC turns out not to be that person from the past. It'd be a great story about a chance encounter and learning to heal from your wound.

Wow, this is so good and beautifully translated! The storyline is heartfelt and intriguing but not melodramatic. There's an element of mystery where you're not sure if the MC is really the 'stand-in' or the original person, but then the more you learn about the MC, the more the reader and the ML realize that he's so good that what's more important is who he is now, and to let go of whether he is or is not the past person.

The characters are very well-developed and rounded with a lot... more>> of emotional depth. I adore the MC, who has extremely strong convictions and a sense of right and wrong. The author brings this out through his various struggles in the entertainment industry, and shows how his actions to not follow unspoken rules has actual realistic consequences on his work and relations.

The ML is interesting in that while being the Overbearing CEO stereotype, he also has that touch of realism and flawed psyche shown through his interactions with other characters, bringing him down to earth. His actions are either understated or kept in the realm of believability, and I find it fascinating how the author balances his sense of real power and influence with not falling into the Brainless CEO pit.

What makes this a special read for me so far is the lack of brainless cannon fodder (everyone feels very realistic and like people who you'd meet in life, especially the bad ones), and the depth the author takes in showing character relations in the emotional line and in the entertainment industry. There's a lot of detail that keeps the world vibrant and well constructed. I give the translator a lot of credit for making this such a smooth read, whenever there are dramatic moments we feel the characters' emotions so clearly, and whenever there are lighthearted jokes they land so smoothly and funnily. The quality is really there all around.

Although I haven't read ahead, at this moment this story is definitely a 5 star and worth reading if you like showbiz. Don't be fooled by the title, it's fascinating and entertaining and keeps you turning pages without any melodrama or dog blood! <<less

This is so soft. I’m tempted to MTL but I don’t want to lose the magic of the prose. Translator really did a good job of making me yearn like no other.

What I like the most about it is the maturity of the whole romance. They hurt each other and I love how realistic they are in trying to start anew. Every interaction at first is a risk and a chance and they took it step by step. The banter is not childish and quite sweet. The whole philosophical note... more>> in the whole story really adds icing to the cake.

I came in expecting a dog-blood melodrama but came out with a gem of a love story that I’ll probably reread as guide for how to handle feelings maturely. <<less
