The demon king, who was betrayed by his relatives, was taken to the lair of human beings. His heart was full of humiliation and resentment towards humans.

“Despicable human beings, how can I be their servant? I am the great demon.”

“Shameless human being, how dare you touch my tail? When I regain my power, I will tear you to pieces.”

Surprisingly, the woman took him in for several days, fed him fragrant food, brushed his hair, bandaged his wounds, and brought him back to the mountains. The human released his restraint, touched his ear, and told him, “Go. I’m setting you free.”

Yuan Xiang had just completed her Taoism studies and entered the Demon Forest.

She wanted to capture a little demon as an apostle.

A wolf demon was injured by the attack of other demons. He was lying on the ground with blood stains all over his body. Yuan Xiang couldn’t bear it. So she took him home, tended his wounds, and took good care of him. The wolf demon was untamable and often growled at her everyday, extremely vicious. Then she let him go.

Thereafter, at times when Yuan Xiang returned from outside, she would find some strange gifts by her door.

The demon king, who was hiding secretly, was tickled with hate: That woman made a binding contract with a demon cat! Besides that beautiful face, the cat is useless! She actually touched that fox’s tail. It can’t be better compared to mine. My tail is the best!

You know I always like a good romantic story. But more than that, I really like it when the story also revolves with the relationship between the MC and her friends. It was touching, sweet, and lovely. So among all the plots in this story, what touched me the most is their friendship, the love story is only second. Also, it has been a while since I've read such genre and I was glad that it didn't disappoint me. Regretfully, there's no extras as I really would be very happy... more>> if there's some side stories. For example, Yu Yao's rebirth, or even when Yuan Xian died and then got reincarnated.

Aside from these, this story will also let you ponder over the heart of humans. Yes, maybe demons aren't real. But clearly, the demons here were just a standard of what's supposed to be evil. However, it depicts here that humans can be more evil than them. But still, it also tells us that not all humans are like that. Humans are capable of being good or evil. Anyway, I really like it. 10/10. <<less

This was... a masterpiece. A story of love — in all its forms. Great romance, friendship, family. The summary is a bit misleading. While there’s a wonderful romance between ML and FL, the story is so much more than that. We get to follow along on a journey of growth and adventure, meeting foes and new friends, solving mysteries, experiencing the myriad of human emotions (love, loss, grief, anger, acceptance, etc.). I love how each character has their own growth arc, how even the antagonists have great backstories and are... more>> often morally grey, not black or white. None of the characters are OP, everyone has weaknesses (even the great villains and protagonists) which make them so relatable and realistic. The pacing was perfect, nothing dragged on and nothing seemed rushed. The author gives us a deep sense of closure by the end of the story (which is a HE). <<less
