A [How to Be a Parent] program was popular, and the hottest female star of today, Yu Shuying, appeared.

She accused her father of being so lazy that he had killed her mother and forced her to mature from a young age.

Interfering with her life choices, destroying her friends, forcing her to ask for a monthly pension,

She said that having such a father was really embarrassing.

Until her childhood was replayed, many people were prepared to condemn this evil father.

Then, she realized that the man’s seriously ill wife had left. However, he told his daughter that she had a good mother just to make his daughter feel motherly love.

He dispersed the girl’s friends because these friends had come with malicious intent.

He forced his daughter to learn music, and he opened up his daughter’s talents in lyrics and composition.

He wanted a pension for decades, but he didn’t spend a single cent. It was all for his daughter. He was afraid that his daughter would spend money recklessly and become poor in the future.

At this moment, countless tears fell.

Recently in China, there's been a rise of similar novels. Whether it's UnderCover Dad being caught by Cop Daughter or Scumbag Dad killed by Daughter. I've read them all (Free chapters)

But despite this one being probably the lowest quality writing or shortest of them all, I still prefer this one the most! Why? Because this one kept it honest with its message. At first, I was angry at how short-sighted and easily influenced by the audience this Daughter was but it took me a lot of chapters... more>> to realize 'Ah' so that's what it meant. Children will always be ungrateful and not know the strife their parents took for them.

    • The Author tries to depict MC as a drunk hidden-like Hermit who taught his daughter in a 'badass' manner but there's not very depth. I think it could be written better and even extended to more chapters.
    • Another good point is that, What if MC had a daughter with no System? The thing is that it worked and he truly created a 'Monster' in the industry but in return, he lost his daughter and his life was jacked up. It could again be written in a better way instead of making her seem too arrogant..
FLAW: The story is very depressing and gibberish/filler words. If I had to say, is that the Author did not execute this well. (Sad ending with No closure)

The other similar CNs will mostly have high Nationalism and try to justify it with serving the country. Serving the country makes all the damage she's taken alright... It feels like very twisted underlying meaning.

There a lot of fun "Previous Life Exposed" out there. But so far the best one I've seen is where people think MC is Tony Stark while he's taking the abilities of Iron Man. Maybe because it's the most concise in (Modern Times). I've seen others that are pretty good but most contain Nationalism. <<less

Wow, this story is exactly what the summary states. It's about a daughter who learns how much her father loved her and shaped her all while willing himself to live despite excruciating pain & certain death due to an incurable illness. I read the first 60 chpts, rolled my eyes quite a lot every time to audience was all no daughter did it all herself only to constantly get face slapped. Not in a satisfying way mind you, but considering the dad's diagnosis and inevitable fate it was face slapping... more>> tinged with sadness. I'm actually worried the daughter learning all this will shatter her confidence! Usually I love it when a character finds out they were wrong about everything, but here what's the point. Even if she learns it's not like she can do anything about it, not to mention the audience keeps trying to compare the daughter & her dad which can't end well.

This is a story different from what I usually read. As of c60 there's no romance, just the daughter talking about her tragic childhood and reenactment that are somehow super accurate. Like I know the dad's system helped but still, maybe it's the MTL but I didn't get how the reenactment worked, like they showed scenes no one should know about and clearly weren't acted out by actors but were moments from real life. Ignoring that I've enjoyed this story over all and look forward to finding out how it possibly is 161 chpts long. Surely it won't all take place in the show? Then again, it's been 60 chpts and the daughter is only about 7 in the re-enactments and she's like 20 or so so maybe it all does take place in that one setting! <<less

Well, I've read up to the end with MTL, this novel is basically a standard chinese online novel with the trope of everyone regretting of misunderstanding the MC when the MC almost died by showing his memory thing.

This novel as the title states talks about the story of how a man in his 30s was diagnosed with brain cancer, lost all his fortune after his wife failed an investment, and the said wife leaving him and their 3 year old daughter, and how that said daughter feels that the MC... more>> is a bad father.

To be honest I am a sucker for this kind of story, but the story is too repetitive for me, as in the story contains too much repetition that makes each cycle not have enough depth, and the reaction of the NPCs are idiotic, though when considering they are mostly hardcore idol fans of the daughter, it's kinda understanable.

The ending also leave a lot to be desired, for example the ending of the mother, and what happens to the daughter after everything is done, etc. Is not written at all (at least according to my read of the MTL).

Though if you want a quick father's unconditional love story, this is your stuff.

Btw those are the demerits that the novel have according to me, the novel is still a touching story about how a man could sacrifice anything for his daughter, the author wrote the emotions well, and personally I can feel the character of the MC, his hardships, his strength, and his love.

In short it's a solid novel, even with it's demerits. <<less

I'm gonna drop it because I can't stand it anymore.

I really like the trope of misunderstanding and the villain being in reality the good guy. But for me this novel tries to do it in an over dramatic way but fails because there's no characters you can care about.

Without spoilers I can say syntax is poor, readable but you will need to skip a lot to make the story continue. The only personally involved character is the daughter meaning everyone else will just agree to her opinion or change it... more>> with hers because they never experienced anything of it.

Not even mentioned how the involvement of the system is not only showing the past but altering the ability of questioning things of everything involved. For example, the producers investigated about MC past for the show, but then the show some things they could never know about and nobody ask about it, not even the daughter. Everyone treats the screen and whatever appears on it as the truth. <<less
