Thank you author, for killing me again and again and again. I died, reborn, died and reborn again to feel the neverending stabbing pain..

This story is far from perfect, it wasn't my first angst, i've read lots, more tragic, ++++ dog blood than this one but never was I fell so deep, so in pain.. So hurt. I cried, damn right I cried for FL soul, for all humiliation, sadness, unfair treatment she went thru. The feeling is so vivid, so real so heartbreaking yet I can't stop. This... more>> is a story about a pair of immortals lover 'Qin yun and Yuan lei (Lan Ling & Ling Chen) who went through 'love trial' in mortal realm for 3 lifetime. I admire MC, she isn't strong, nor does she weak. She's pure, all she did was trying to stay far from the chaotic harem, trying to live in peace. She love Ling Chen and she shows it in various way. She never cower, she ran away when she feels the palace life will kill her, she protect her own person, she just a straightforward person who says 'i dont like' if she dont. I couldn't hate the ML, he got his reason of why he acted a dumbass. He bestows pain again and again to FL, failed in protecting her in his harem. He thought he love Wen Hen (childhood friend later his concubine) but later on realized Lan Ling is his true Love.

my favorite character in this story is Huo Jingyun (side character).. I so love his character, strong, protective manipulative, a true lover. I've hurt due to his unrequited love. He loves MC since he was 17 but had to hide it and act just as MC senior brother. He confess to Lan Ling upon gaining the throne and wanted to marry her despite her pregnancy. It hurt when he said this ' have you never consider me? You have given him half of your life, the rest of your life, can't you stay with me?' My poor sweety, damn I love him more than I like Lin Cheng😪 really wish author can write more about him

Plot is alright, none heavy, aint that perfect either. A good read for those who wants drama, unheavy political scheme, bittersweet romance. 4.3 stars for me.

Oh..i add 'rape' to the tag because it really did happen to MC (both time in her last day in prison- in her previous life and current life) <<less

Finally I've finished it. Wow. This is one of those novels that you start for fun and then it hooks you and you have to read to the end. I could see it being made into an extended drama.

At times it's hard to read because the characters keep making the same mistakes over and over again. It's frustrating and upsetting like why can't you guys figure it out?? But at the same time, if you can put that frustration aside, it's what makes the story more realistic. Some people never... more>> learn, some people learn too late, and some people it takes a while.

I loved the eventual character growth. It took a long time to get there but when you look at the character's ages why it takes so long makes sense. I adored the ending, it gave meaning to the angst and sadness that went on for 2/3s of the novel.

I wouldn't recommend it if you want romance or harem drama (for the most part its set outside and the FL doesn't fight back).

I would recommend if you want to cry or feel somewhat frustratingly real relationships. <<less
