Akuyaku Reijo Nanode Rasubosu o Katte Mimashita

Description

Due to the shock of having my engagement broken, I was able to recover the memories of my previous life. This is the world of the otome game of my previous life, is not it? If so, then as the villainess I’ll get caught up in the battle between the heroine and the demon king and die…… please tell me this is a joke! If this is so, then I’ll avoid that death flag by conquering The Last Boss (Demon King)!

This is the story where the villainess gives the heroine, her former fiance, and childhood friend their just deserts, starts her own enterprise, increases subordinate (manservant) count, and gets loved by the Demon King.

The start was promising, but eventually many aspects of this novel starts to deteriorate after a few chapters. The dialogues are often incomprehensible and confusing since you can't tell who's talking half the time and what they say sometimes doesn't even make sense. The author also doesn't do any proper research since an Emperor is ruling a kingdom instead of a king. At first I thought the kingdom is a vassal state of an empire but turns out the author is referring the emperor as the ruler of the kingdom.

The... more>> pacing also became very slow at the middle part of volume one since there are next to no progress made towards the main story arc. Luckily, the pacing eventually picks up again and you're not trapped with filler chapters that pretends to be main story chapters.

However, the reason I rate this novel so low is because how it handles antagonists and how it pretends the protagonists had a huge victory even though most antagonists only get punished very little in comparison to the atrocities they commit.

Spoiler

The crown prince Cedric, for example, committed infidelity, false accusation, breach of contract, breach of the peace treaty, assault and battery, attempted rape, and are basically the role model for tyrants and incompetent rulers. It was one thing if he committed all these towards a random commoner but I find it hard to believe that after doing all these to the daughter of the most prominent duke in the kingdom, he's still fine. And the fact that's his willingness to murder another member of the royal family for the throne got ignored is also absurd. What's more ridiculous is that his cohorts that are of far lower standing than him managed to get away scot-free.

While Cedric gets demoted to second prince, Lilia gets to keep her engagement to Cedric despite her low standing and many crimes she committed with and also without Cedric. Max, the nobody that's not even a knight doesn't seem to get punished at all while in reality he'll probably be executed as a scapegoat to save Cedric's ass and preserve the "imperial" family's reputation. But nope, having their plan foiled is punishment enough, so the author decides.

Edit: Wait scratch that, the prologue of volume 2 reveals that Max got promoted to a Holy Knight. Lol wtf?

[collapse]

The main problem of this novel is the plot armors vs plot armors thing it has going on. The protagonists and antagonists both have plot armors so the status quo doesn't really change too much. The antagonists are still fine even after they willingly jeopardize their own future because the author probably didn't want to come up with an entire new cast of antagonist. Couple this and the fact that everyone that are against the protagonists are the biggest scumbags that humanity has to offer, and some of the protagonists' allies are borderline scumbags as well, you'll actually feel more tired than entertained since all you feel after reading this is frustration and disgust. And the fact that that the protagonists just decide they've won after foiling the antagonists' plans doesn't help either.

I rate this 1/5 doing evil stuff is fine. <<less

ohohohh, my time to shine has come! I've read over 80+ chapters of this story with google translate!

firstly, eileen is cool! She's a cool female lead! I admire her!

secondly, I really like the main couple's interactions! They are cuteeee! I ship it, ufufu!

in general, the story is not too overcomplicated, but reading it definitely makes me want to find out more about the development and the couple wheee!

the story continues even after the main couple gets together, currently there are 3+ arcs.

Why doesn't this get a higher rating than it should? I love this novel, funny yet not too overly quirky. There are hundreds of isekai novel out there, mostly with the same theme, but this novel is a breath of fresh air for me. The female lead is funny and stubborn, kept trying to hopelessly seduce the last boss and miserably fail to do so. Ahh, can't wait for more translated chapters. I will diligently wait for the manga to be translated as well..

Was not worth the read.

The premise started off well but began to drift. What started as cute prods and jabs from the antagonists (Cedric, Lilia, and Ma) ends up being ridiculous and almost omniscient harassment. They cobbled together with a slowly degrading translation quality makes it an overall frustrating read. By the end of the story, the concept has lost most of it's original appeal, the rules set by the author are blatantly ignored, and there isn't much satisfaction in the resolution.

Real talk:... more>>
Spoiler

What started as cute jabs and minor political manuevers turns into Cedric declaring she'll be his consort, abducting, then attempting to r*pe her. Lilia blatantly attacks Beelz unprovoked, and the "treaty" just gets ignored whenever humans decide to ignore. Keith sold a bunch of monsters into slavery for reasons, and it's roughly laughed off because the monsters "agreed" to it.

Look, no one suffers any consequences for anything they do. Cedric becomes second prince. There are no consequences in this story.

The villainess type character remembers her past life during her conviction event. Her current world is that of an otome game she used to play. Her engagement with prince charming is broken and she realizes she will die if events follow the original otome game plot. So far, so clichéed. The villainess (Eileen/Irene) decides to change the future by proposing marriage to the Demon King.

As of chapter 4 Eileen has met the handsome Demon King, Claude, and his two male followers, Keith and Beelzebub. There is no insta-love and Eileen... more>> is showcased as a "strong female character" (whether this will keep up remains to be seen).

It is hard to describe, but the logical reasoning of the writer is similar to Japanese management-style novels or Japanese novels which feature politics. Because of the clichéed opening I was reminded of Common Sense of a Duke’s Daughter. Hopefully there will be more about the handsome Demon King and less clichées later. <<less

I really love the story! As of now, the only thing I hate is the father's personality. And the douche prince. Along with the so called heroine.

It's very nice to find a story where the MC is a capable (OP) woman ... more>>

I mean, with that set of followers, it's very clear that she has a very good leadership. Yeah, I can't wait for the prince to get wrecked.

, with a very unique personality that actually makes the novel funny.

The Demon King is so mmm handsome,

and it's really helpful that his emotions change the weather, since with that poker face of his, it's very hard to guess what he's thinking/feeling. It's fun guessing what could be the emotion behind those phenomena too!

It's a fresh read, since the MC has her own strong personality, and isn't like any Isekai Novels where the MC is immediately "Oh! I'm the villainess, for now I should just accept my fate and live humbly!" And then have men swooning for her after her change. Yeah, I've gotten tired of those harem stuff.

Can't wait for more chapters! Recommended if you want a MC with a very noble-like, headstrong, and manipulative (little)

-I came here from the manga & I can't say how much I love this story
-The FMC is really strong & determine. Eventhough she reincarnated & has a bit of memories from her previous life, she solve most of her problems through her own skills she develop from her queen training & the support from her talented aides that she gathered.
-I think she's similiar or a bit better than Iris from common sense of the duke daughter.. Maybe?
-And the ML, the Demon King!, I dont know why... more>> but he's really is cool & better than that crown prince
-His personality is also reasonable to his circumstances
-But what I like the most is that despite the demon king tsundere ness & cold attitude, he's true feelings tend to show by affecting the surroundings especially the weather.
which I somehow find it amusing and sweet 😍🖒 <<less

Translation was decent at first but then kept dropping in quality until it became a complete mess no better than straight up MTL. Often it's hard to understand who is speaking, or what they are even saying so I'm dropping this.

Isekai? Check

Villainess Incarnation? Check

Badass MC? Check

... more>> Good Quality Story + Translation? Absolutely Check

The Demon King is actually not that bad? Heck yeah check.

Seeing all of this and more, what is there not to love? Well, the main antagonists maybe, but I'll admit, these antagonists were written in a very well-written way that for all that they're kind of shallow, they're actually cleverly done.

The MC is badass, no contest on that, and the ML is also a badass, handsomely beautiful as well. The many good points of this story are centered around the characters. There's hardly ever a dull side-character, and even background characters are written well! The drama is also great, as well as the romantic development, most especially the character growth with a lot of characters

All in all, if you love these Otome Villainess type of stories, you're going to love this one greatly. There isn't much I can compare this with, and I honestly feel like it's the most well-done and unique one so far.

Go read this. (C1-c42 cover the whole first part of the story and is almost complete in a way so it's kind ofof perfect way to read this story)

And the manga as well. <<less

This is a delightful story. Well worth reading. While the setup is one we've seen before, it has greater depth of characterization than most 'reincarnated villainess' novels, and a charming romance. Reccomended.

5/5

I just finished the first story (first Arc), and I came from the manga version.

What I need to say is this novel is definitely one of the best reincarnation/otome game story.

... more>> It was not just the plot that was better than the other story of the same genre, the Characters, too, are so like-able.

Our MC is not your annoyingly stupid Marie Sue kind of character. She is brave and clever. Our ML is cute, somehow. Their relationship development was sweet fufufu~

The manga version was a fun read, but the novel version was sweeter.

Anyone who likes isekai, fantasy with cute demons, noble/royalty, great MC and ML, nice plot, this novel is definitely for you. <<less

Ch42: The MC should have kicked the 2nd prince between his legs during the attempted r*pe since the MC chose not to retaliate afterwards (just stripped of the title of 2nd price as crown prince 😅) . I feel that her move is so.... STUPID. And publicizing the wrong doings of the 3 could strip them off of their position. Also, from the evidences she could use the power of their ducal house + being neice of the queen dowager to punish accordingly the 3. 😅😅😅

The story is okay (idea... more>> is unique, but the construction is common) , though not truly good and not really bad <<less

An amazing heroine who takes things into her own hands and doesn't leave it to others to protect her or help her out!! The only thing that confuses me a little is the part about her past life and how it played absolutely no role in her current life except the knowledge of the game. Other than that, I really enjoyed her intelligence, persistence and strength!

Behold, this miss came to this one for it having an interesting strong MC in the manga!

The MC is a strong and tomboy woman who's shamelessly tease the Demon King. Though in the end it was her who embarrassed...

I love the supporting characters 'cause they truly show their concern towards her...

Hopefully it can keep the story as a refreshing, slightly different, but fun plot.

FS would highly recommend this for first time 'Isekai', 'Villainess MC' tags readers.

Our MC (Irene-sama) is not a damsel that had and has to be rescued by Male lead whenever she encounters problems. She has a strong sense of responsibility. She's smart enough to figure out threats before anyone sees them as such. She's also wise enough to find solutions to them. Strong enough to control her emotions and not let them destroy her future regardless of how painful her life is. She's really a gem for an MC if you will compare her to other MCs of the same novel genre and tag.

The Male lead (aka Demon King-sama) is a bit lacking in development right now in FS opinion but he seems promising. He, like our MC, doesn't like showing his emotions but he's very caring and attentive to those under him. He's a bit of a 'dere' once you get into his inner circle but if you're his fiancee then he can have an 'S' tendency. He seems to have a lot of room for improvement as well. Specially since outside of interacting with Irene and his underlings, he seems to only have either coldness or he will full on ignore your existence. At one point he would need to change that because of some plot development.

The other characters are pretty good as well like the Demon King's attendants, Almond-chan and Irene's 'lackeys'. To be honest, there doesn't seem to be any love rivals although every male character (except for the villainous ones) cares for Irene as a friend and benefactor. They might have a crush on her but what stands out most of the time is their admiration and not some jealous wish to be her partner. It's quite refreshing.

The Villains (Binch Sword Maiden, 2nd Prince and bakaMax) are well, just not up to it. The heroes and allies of this story are really good but the villains aren't really anything amazing. They're very petty and not even cunning which, sadly, is already a bit better compared to other novel's villains. Author-sama is still better at making villains just that, it would be nice if the next villains wouldn't be capable of only petty tricks.

The story is really good. Take away the common variables (engagement annulled, game protagonist is the enemy, everyone from high society is on the other side etc.,) and it still has a good setting and plot.

So yes, No complaints from this lady.

One of the better Otome titles out there. Interesting premise, main protagonist’s are well fleshed out, and story flows well. The female protagonist is a pretty badass character and her love interest is relatable as to why his personality is the way it is. The side characters all have vibrant personalities as well, and I found myself laughing at various points. My only criticism of the this WN is the villains. Not really well fleshed out, typical bad for the sake of being bad, and somewhere around chp 40 there... more>> is a situation that just baffled me why two of the villains would just stand around and allow to happen regardless of how much you hate the protagonist. But, in general, really like it. Would have given 4.6 or so if I could. <<less

Cute little story about the transmigrating into an otome game. More emphasis is on the love story and cuteness of 'monsters' than on detailing business proposals/deals etc. By mostly summarizing the dry economics/investigations, the story is made into a very light-hearted/comedic read. The ML's ability to express his emotions via atmospheric effects is really cute.
