There are always moments far in the past that remain forever engraved in our memory. The last decade of the 2000’s was chock full of unique memories – memories of The Little Tigers, The Bund, and the Four Heavenly Kings that brought us great emotions now rest with the dust-covered journals of our youth.

Born in the 80’s, Tong Hua has brought together a classic youth book that reminds readers that those timeless memories of our youth are only so precious due to their brief nature. Bring those memories back once again with this memorable read; though we are gradually aging and leaving our past behind, our warm, child-like spirits will never fade!

I loved this author's work previously - Lost you forever. I really thought I have stumbled upon a great writer - which still I hold on to... However- the crafting here is a bit off key -- Yes, It is too angsty - though realistic for the teen years and hence acceptable - the age when you doubt yourself as well as everyone around you...I am fine with that angst and unresolved messing up of relationships due to that.
I can accept open ending under some circumstances... Not here though - I came to listen to your story - this ending looks like a writer's unresolved dilemma and she conveniently left it to the readers!!
Spoiler

Xu Bo is so decisive in everything so far. In the epilogue- he sleeps through the day (even though his friend facilitated that!) and leaves it to our interpretation in the end!! Nope. Not acceptable

This is character inconsistency.
Some authors do write very realistic stories and do leave an open ending. Here - the actions of the protagonists are sometimes too OP and yet this is the ending. Can't accept it.
I still feel that this author writes beautifully - Just this unresolved ending after patiently bearing through all that angst - feels very unsatisfying.

I can relate to this story very much. I grew up with my best friend (*my only crush) until he move away during highschool years. After reading this novel, I want to reconnect and check on him if he is doing well now. This novel really bring me many memories.

Beautiful. But also very sad at several points. And very open ended. Although with a lot of hope in the end. I like very much how the whole story is so down to earth and how the main characters are like real people. I cry my eyes out at how the negative childhood experiences make their lives so difficult

and ultimately hinder their great love to blossom.

I found myself frowning while reading this novel. I was thinking why does this FL doing this or that? She was so unreasonable. But she was 15-17y/o. The age when you beg for love and your brain haven't fully developed yet. I warn you guys this is pretty heavy read. Prepare yourself.

Spoiler

To be honest, ZJ is fickle and acts like a cliché domineering CEO with a mind of a 10y/o that bullies the girl they like. His arc hurt my soul lol.

I can't say I like the ending either. XB's brother make it seem like FL never waited for XB. But I'm sure it is just Tong Hua trying to create angst or something. That part left a bad taste in my mouth.
