Ou Renjin likes keeping beautiful young men because he likes watching the drama.

Watching them be arrogant and conceited; watching them be obsequious and sycophantic; watching them have ulterior motives and fight with each other, seeing all the evil side of human nature.

Until, he picks up a poor little guy.

The poor little guy is ignorant and helpless, treating Ou Renjin as his whole world, spending all his salary to buy him gifts, standing in front of him in times of danger without hesitation, even…

…saying to him in the calmest and lightest of tones after knowing that their heart matching is successful, “I am very grateful that you have been hiding it from me, but I have long been ready to give my heart to you.”

* * *

036 was born as a test subject, without parents or friends.

As the only successful “petri dish of renewable organs”, he had every organ in his body cut out and transplanted to the rich and powerful countless times.

After getting used to the pain, he met the most special person in the world.

This person was so good that he wanted to cut out his own heart immediately.

A good book! The story was unique and the plot was amazing. I first thought that the novel will be some kind of a story with red flag characters, but here I saw the greenest flag ever! President Ou was a good lover who gave opportunities for little lover Ou Shaowen to shine and made him feel loved and cared. A very healthy relationship!

The story was well written and the storyline was addictive.

Highly recommend!

sad angst sweet heartwarming good end....

a good recepie cooked perfectly. there were loop holes as how MC came to present times and how ML transmigrated to MC original time. well it was not made clear and ots ok coz these matters didn't interrupt to original story flow.

Translation was good

I seriously cannot recommend a story more. Just like the first two sentences of the summary, Ou Renjin is truly a top tier Scum (Bad person) goldmaster (Rich person supporting artists in the entertainment industry), but with morals and 036 really feels like a holy mother (Person who is a saint in both actions and personality). The summary and tags also sound like there will be sadness and bitterness but the story is more in line with dark chocolate covered ice cream. It tastes bitter, but there is a very... more>> deep and refreshing sweetness once you break past the shell.

The story's theme can be condensed into the phrase "Strong Love". Expanding from there would be, "If you truly love someone help them grow, and you will find that you have grown alongside them". While the backgrounds and feelings of characters outside the couple are shallow, you can still get a sense of other different kinds of love that are being depicted whether it be Familial love, Career-focused love, and Obsessive love. It makes you really appreciate the love that Ou Renjin and 036 developed, because it wasn't instant love like other BL novels, but a slow dance as they walked together out from under their past and discovered what kind of love they shared. Their love might be strange to us, but the ways people show love is very different. ALSO a very important point is there is communication, and I mean actual communication with words and conversation and not "body language"

Don't worry about if you can get past the bitterness as well, because the author does a good job on dispersing comedy and sweetness throughout the story. I especially love the Weibo (Chinese social media site) netizens (People interacting online, network citizens) they are very cute.

all-in-all, I'd say this is a good introduction into the world of BL before getting into the more dogblooded (Drama-filled) stories

Spoilers:
Spoiler

036 quickly gets a new name so no worries about Ou Renjin calling him by number, he becomes Ou Shaowen! Not really imporant to the plot, but still put it under spoilers.

It was surprisingly become one of good web novels I have read till now. When I read the description I wasn't hoping for anything great yet unexpectedly, this was a gem. Their relationship was gem.

But I genuinely like it. ^_^

I enjoyed this novel as the two leads are very sweet to each other especially at the end. There were times where I got a little bored reading about the entertainment industry. There were also times where I wished for a little bit more angst, but there were still a few good angsty moments. The MC wasn't really my cup of tea (a little too pure and goodhearted for my liking), but that's probably just my personal preference.

I already made preparations when reading the novel to anticipate the worst, , , but THANK god..

Although the ending was a little bit anti-climatic. But all in all it was heartwarming. Shed a few tears. Especially on the hospital scene.

Spoiler

I thought ML died after slashing himself and the doctor trying to be vague about where he is after MC woke up.

[collapse]

And I know it was just a lesson from ML to MC to prove a point but I was honestly thinking that this would be so unfair if he really did.. Ya know, die Haha

Spoiler

although I couldn't have understood why that kind of flasback scene was put in between out of nowhere.. But I guess they were trying to justify the transmigrating thingy.

What I'm really most curious about is the accident of MLs parent. Was it really premediated? Or not?

I do want some extras of their married day-to-day lives. All in all the translation was chefs kiss. I'll give this 4.2 stars. ⭐️ <<less

I was a little hesitant to read it, but it’s so cute. Are the characters flawed? Yes definitely, but the author writes them so well that you’ll love them regardless. I do kinda wish there was more closure though.

Spoiler

I would have liked some explanation about the secretary and if the ml’s uncle and aunt killed his parents

The story was short but it hit so many points. I love them both as individuals, I feel heartache for both of them and enjoy their conversations. I wish this was stretch out more in a way so we can enjoy them a little longer, but it was a great story that will have a place in my heart (Ah I wish for more bed scenes hehe that's my biggest regret). I wholeheartedly recommend this novel it is a good read and great translations!

It was good... bt some facts are really unsatisfying... the face that the whole novel seems to based on a misunderstanding... its quite frustrating how they are not on the same page at all... and when u think this misunderstanding will be resolved satisfactorily, it drags on and on as the ML doesnt blv the MC... ML thinks MCs thinking of regrowing organ is caused bcz of some hallucination tricks or something, basically denying the whole past of MC, all his suffering, his past painful experiences...I dnt knw why everyone... more>> treats the MC as some kid! Yes he is naive and innocent as he never interacted with the world bt he is not some mentally inacapable person who cant think at all.... weird...

For me I was anticipating when will the misunderstanding be resolved, when will MC and ML have a really equal mature heart to heart talk... bt no, its all their funny way of implicit interaction where they talk important things in their brain without explicitly saying it out loud...i was simply annoyed... ugghhh... <<less

I really enjoyed this story. Sweet and easily digestible. Awesome premise and setup, pretty satisfying ending. It has good themes and an overall message and it makes for a great read when you just want some sweetness but with bit of sourness.

It is however as a full story, quite flawed.

It is honestly very underdeveloped and both the MC and ML get quite inconsistent in the middle to the point of annoyance at times. It is weakened by the author inabilty to push the envelope and do more. Its biggest pros... more>> and biggest cons is it simplicty.

I will forget this story in a few weeks. And I am sad about that. <<less

I don't know what to say, this book is simply fenomenal. I was a little reluctant to read at first based off the summary alone because I thought that this would be another book in which the MC is a naive, submissive, and insecure person that would find nothing wrong with the way he is treated while the ML is a playboy scumbag that backs up his scumminess with his tragic past. I have never been so glad to be wrong.

For starters, there is a fine line between being s*upid... more>> and being uneducated. The MC might not have know much about society or about people in general, but he certainly wasn't s*upid. It was clear that he knew what he wanted and he knew what made him happy and that is the main reason I came to like this story.

As for Ou Renjin, he is... I'm not too sure how to explain. He's not a bad person, don't get me wrong. In the beginning, it's no surprise that he was a scumbag that had ulterior motive, but as the story progressed, I was pleasantly surprised to find that he did not limit the MC much like other MLs. On the contrary, he encouraged 036 to continue to communicate with people and find out his likes and dislikes, and that is what I like most about him.

Spoiler

Ofc the scene of him "paying back" Ou Shaowen (036) for giving him his heart was also a main reason I liked him. He is literally the definition of "an eye for an eye" and that scene had the perfect amount of angst.

[collapse]

All in all, if you want to read a bittersweet book with a happy ending and a sweet loving relationship, by all means go ahead as I heavily recommend this book :)) <<less

I really enjoyed this novel.

It had a very unique premise and was a great take on an entertainment / showbiz style novel without being too much cookie cutter like the rest. Normally I'm not a fan of too naive/innocent MCs, but this one was super endearing instead of annoying. Even though he was pampered, he was still pretty self-reliant and capable.

The ML is also super unique. I really like this type of pragmatic ML instead of overbearing CEO.

The author also did a great job with the arguments and misunderstandings. I... more>> love that the ML also made mistakes because he's human. And that the ML continued to encourage the MC to think for himself instead of agreeing with other people (even people he loves) over himself.

Even though their biggest argument (related to upbringing/worldview) was fictional, however, the way the author set it up as neither were right or wrong, strikes very true for RL couples as well. In many disagreements, it's not about who is more right, sometimes it's about communicating properly and giving empathy to the other person.

Translation was very enjoyable. Flowed well and immersive.

Spoiler

I only have VERY SMALL small nitpicks:

The biggest one is the use of the word "Good." In Chinese, "good" and "okay/yes/I agree/sure, " are the same character (hao). For the most part, when characters are answering phones or replying to a sentence with agreement, they are saying "Yes, " not "Good." eg. John said, "I will move back your meeting to tomorrow." Jane said, "Good."❌ -> Jane said, "Sure/Yes/Please do/Go ahead." ✅ would be much more natural response in English than "good." (Ironically, "great" would work better than "good" in nearly all situations here too!)

The only time "Good" is a natural response happens when the responder is asked to evaluate an object, like "Do you think this shirt looks good?" hao kan bu hao kan? "Looks good." hao kan.

Even when asked "Sounds good?" hao bu hao? The normal English reaction is "Yep!" or "Yeah" or "Yes, " not "Good!"

The key here is "Good" in English is used as an evaluation or moral standard (good vs. Evil; good vs. Bad) and not a term commonly used for agreement, and thus should not be translated literally.

And that ends my lesson of the day. Otherwise, fantastic translation!

One of the few times I’m actually excited for angst. The premise—it sounded like a hit or miss. I had no idea how this story was going to unravel, but one thing I knew: it was going to make me feel things.

MC has a special body that can allow him to regrow his organs, subjecting him to unlawful & inhumane organ transplants to rich buyers. He escapes his lab & is transported to a different world/space that is also modernized but a little behind in terms of technological advances. No... more>> lab, no harsh experiments here... just one hot golden thigh CEO who enjoys spoiling pretty boys & watching them on his many installed cameras at home. LOL

The plot was interesting enough, the characters made it more worthwhile. I like how despite naive-seeming MC is, he’s actually very straightforward & not as weak as you’d assume. ML is also not your typical CEO playboy archetype, but he’s actually kind of a unique weirdo who I believe only MC can love. This novel’s cute, bittersweet, & even crazy at times. Hate that the ending was too fast; it could’ve been paced out better. <<less

The story's plot is okay (non-sensical but at least not boring) and the MC has good moments, but I couldn't get invested in the main relationship because ML was quite a piece of work (in a bad way).

Not only did the relationship feel like ML was always keeping MC at arm's length, but also near the end when they began to get "closer" and MC made the ultimate sacrifice for him, ML's response was really cold and I couldn't imagine being so cruel and distant to the person you love... more>> during such a vulnerable time. I'd be worried to death and be unable to leave my lover's side until I could confirm they were fine. Instead, ML was focused on being spiteful and punishing MC for what he did for him.

All in all, I wasn't a fan of the chemistry between the two leads. ML came across as cruel and insensitive too often. <<less

The translation is great and the translator really cleared up a lot of confusions. The MC and ML's characters are really interesting, their character development is also good. Overall, it's not boring to read but... I guess I'm looking for something and I didn't find it here. I read this thinking it's some healing novel considering both MC and ML had very tragic backgrounds, but it's a little underwhelming for it to be a healing novel so I guess its not.

Heck ton of plot holes.

Spoiler

the sudden transmigration took me off guard and I think it was placed there because the author dug up a plot they couldn't fill. The mu*der of ML's mom and whether the real culprit is the uncle is also not explained well. The addition of the phonecall chapter is unnecessary and not placed where it should be, I'm thinking it could be an extra and not put it in 3 chapters before the end. I also think that the entertainment subplot could just go, I didn't really feel it's relevance in the story but in a way it also makes sense because the ML is an entertainment company chairman.

3.9 it's sweet and had righg amount of sadness so itla ok.. but... I began to doubt that thia novel was actually seme protagonis, Idk.. it gave same vibe as ''I famous after died'' the gong and shou so vague and it became problem for me, in first part it say that our ou shaowen (mc?) Is shou but in the story.. the characteristics seams blurred (u know typical gong on danmei, tall, had more stamina, etc...) in synopsis our MC more likely is ou renji.. but I don't... more>> feel like it.. at first the MC was both of them and Somehow gradually it become ou shaowen I really need translator-sama to clarify this <<less
