Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Ah……..she was married to a Marquis, yet he only had intent to treat her as a concubine not as his first wife, a princess (princess refers to a person’s first wife, it is a position of power among the wives and in the household). Now she overheard that he only married her for appearances sake?
It was just great! Not only was she forced to marry, she also lost her freedom. Since her husband was also unwilling to marry, they might as well not bother with each other…….
His newly wedded wife was so very strange!
A night before the wedding he caught her peeking shamelessly. She also demanded that the favor he owed her for having saved his life, two years prior in the desert was to not touch her?
Usually a wife would be sharing a husband with three or four other women. Thus they would be full of worry and trepidation, serving their husband to the best of their ability attempting to become the favourite and obtain the valued Princess position. Yet she actually tried to distance herself from him as much as possible. How was this a relationship?
Though it did not matter to him, for he long had the intention to separate himself from her, he was only marrying her because of the Imperial Edict after all. If he didn’t seize this golden opportunity then he was too dumb to deserve it.
Let her regret it!
She was very proficient in the art of Qi Huang. Even though this princess’ beauty wasn’t too outstanding, it wasn’t bad and her temperament was unquestionable. This Prime Minister’s Daughter even had a touch of feminine charisma. Her varying facial features made him forget about the other beautiful concubine completely and made him want to……..only care for her!?
Although he swore to the moon that he would not touch her, however tonight the night sky was cloudy………

Warning: I'm basically ranting because this was so frustrating to read! I couldn't even drop it because it was so short (which is the best part of this novel) and I held a tiny hint of hope it would improve. The beginning had so much potential -- their meeting and circumstances were interesting and the characters weren't one dimensional. Or so I thought. I was waiting for it to get better, but instead it went down; as in the story plummeted like the temperature in Canada. The main character was smart and was supposedly stubborn and strong. The *quote* hero had the capacity to grow as he is living in a society where polygamy is virtually the only relationship and meeting a woman who wasn't just a pretty face, yet feeling attraction to her charisma, should've slowly changed him. Yes, cliché, but still a nice story to read. The antagonists had understandable circumstances that could've helped us feel more sympathetic or more hateful towards them. SO. MUCH. POTENTIAL. Then I don't know what happened. I guess the author decided he needed to end the story ASAP, and as I said previously, the plot just fell. Everything that COULD'VE happened... didn't.
MC was so unwilling to be with the guy in the beginning and I actually respected her for it, yet after a few kisses, she kept on compromising with the selfish jerk, who was basically attracted to her because (1) she saved him before, which is a the perfect example of the suspension bridge effect, (2) she was only "unusual" to him because of her initial rejection of him (how can anyone reject such an amazing specimen of a man!) and he was mystified of her fairy tale belief of a one true love, and finally (3) he had this alpha-male single mindedness that refused to let him be considerate of anyone but himself and his self interest of conquering any woman he sets his eyes on, like the animal he is.
Then his concubine, who he knew was jealous, claimed the MC was to blame, he immediately believed her without investigating the issue or respecting (hah respect, as if he had any of that towards himself or other people) the promise between him and the MC. I've read Peach Girl before, and one thing I absolutely hate is when a person who is supposed to trust the one he or she loves instead believes another person's words.
Never mind about the author ranting she ventured the world with her master to perfect her medical knowledge, etc (all the good natures crap). Her brain stop fnctioning when she interacts with him. The male MC is an as*hole with capital A. A warning to reader that there is a dubious consent if not r*pe (I would call it r*pe).
He sealed her pressure point, you can guess the rest what happen next..
