The Imperial Princess Accidentally Seduced Her Husband

Description

Ah……..she was married to a Marquis, yet he only had intent to treat her as a concubine not as his first wife, a princess (princess refers to a person’s first wife, it is a position of power among the wives and in the household). Now she overheard that he only married her for appearances sake?

It was just great! Not only was she forced to marry, she also lost her freedom. Since her husband was also unwilling to marry, they might as well not bother with each other…….

His newly wedded wife was so very strange!

A night before the wedding he caught her peeking shamelessly. She also demanded that the favor he owed her for having saved his life, two years prior in the desert was to not touch her?

Usually a wife would be sharing a husband with three or four other women. Thus they would be full of worry and trepidation, serving their husband to the best of their ability attempting to become the favourite and obtain the valued Princess position. Yet she actually tried to distance herself from him as much as possible. How was this a relationship?

Though it did not matter to him, for he long had the intention to separate himself from her, he was only marrying her because of the Imperial Edict after all. If he didn’t seize this golden opportunity then he was too dumb to deserve it.

Let her regret it!

She was very proficient in the art of Qi Huang. Even though this princess’ beauty wasn’t too outstanding, it wasn’t bad and her temperament was unquestionable. This Prime Minister’s Daughter even had a touch of feminine charisma. Her varying facial features made him forget about the other beautiful concubine completely and made him want to……..only care for her!?

Although he swore to the moon that he would not touch her, however tonight the night sky was cloudy………

I second the review below mine... The story indeed started out great; however, the ending was complete crap. The girl accepted the guy’s apology too easily and I felt that the love he had for her was really shallow... When “something” happened, he chose to believe another woman’s words over his lovers’. He may have repented, but he didn’t even beg for forgiveness.

Not to mention, he is a HYPOCRITE. Apparently, he hates jealous women but he gets jealous at the men who talk to the female lead. Furthermore, he indulges... more>> in multiple females while being angry at the female lead just because she was in the presence of other males. The female lead was supposed to be a strong woman! She is actually just someone in desperate need for love... ugh.

Towards the end, I was hoping the female lead would su*cide and make the male lead fall into despair and regret his actions for the rest of his life. Then, with that regret, he would live with the loneliness and emptiness that could never be filled because his other half is gone. God, the story would be much better if she su*cided... /) _ (\

4 stars for the story that was never written, but was hinted at in the beginning.

2 star for the actual story that was written. <<less

Just really!? I can't even begin to diss this sh^t. The guy is an a$$hole that gets everything he wants. Has absolutely no honor and treats the MC like his property. He is absolutely disgusting. And she is so unrealistic. This novel was obviously written by a misogynistic male. Even by the standards of that time period it is still disgusting. And I actually feel sorry for the antagonist. I mean seriously she wouldn't have become his concubine if he didn't promise to make her his princess. She went crazy... more>> because of him. My good he is an a hole. <<less

Well... that was a bit too r*pey for my taste.

As other reviewers have stated, the hero is jealous, hypocritical, and breaks every single promise he makes to the two women in his life. He shows zero regret for breaking them and zero sympathy for anyone other than himself and he doesn't change at all. The heroine starts off interesting and with agency and then basically gift wraps her agency with a nice little bow and hands it to the hero, who promptly stomps all over it and then throws... more>> it away.

And again with the r*pey.
Spoiler

He uses acupuncture to r*pe her. Literally the first time they have s*x, he uses acupuncture to make her lie there while he r*pes her. Charming. And he does it some more later after he's thrown her in jail for a crime she didn't commit. But he takes her out at night so they can have s*x (acupuncture aided r*pe). Only by then she enjoys it even though she's told him "no" multiple times. So I guess that's consent? Whatever.

The most disappointing thing here wasn't actually male lead, but her servants. I was filled with rage at the last chapter. Maybe it was because in many other novels like this MC always had a trusted servant, but it's still too much!!! I remember that one empress' loyal maid willingly became a concubine for a 80 something year old corrupted but influential fatty, damn, I was touched to tears but here they are, betraying her with the slightest threat, when even the most sinister villains had a devoted servants that... more>> wouldn't give up under torture... and treating that tr*sh as if he's a god, not even thinking of things he did to their mistress <<less

I am clearly disappointed with this story. Everything in the beginning was good. How come the MC became so s*upid just because of being f*cked by the male lead a few times? This was simply because of love? I thought she of all people knew what love is. It seemed like she's one of the common people who confuses love with lust. Her will wasn't strong. I over-estimated her. As for the guy, he's nothing good. He's just a male chauvinist hedonistic pig; also a hypocrite. He deserves to be... more>> abadoned.

Spoiler

I was seriously rooting for the MC to leave the guy and meet a new man, which will happen to be her "true love or fated one" as what's in the beginning she wanted. But then, boom. Simply because of an embrace accompanied by the good feeling made her stop. That angered me so much that I even bursted. It was ridiculuos! Absurd!! Preposterous!!!

[collapse]

I would have liked it more if they haven't ended up together where in the MC is happy with a new better man, and male lead is all alone, regretting. Or, MC has become a world-known doctor and single yet the masses adore her. On the other side, the male lead is still a regretting loner.

If we were in the ancient times, and this was a play, the author of this book would be definitely considered as one of your common lowly scholars... <<less

It started off with potential – 2 people who end up on the wrong foot but tied together and genuinely interested in each other is the basis of any feisty romance story. However the development between them was rushed and ended up warped. In order to remain short, they thrusted all the trust issues between them towards a third party (a concubine who had genuine grievances with the male lead and could’ve been made into a deeper character with hateful and pitiful elements), rather than having them gradually develop feelings... more>> and trust. And when her plot was resolved, the author just assumed all the problems in their relationship would go away.

Consequently the male lead (Qi Er Lun) ended up acting abruptly, becoming unreasonable, possessive, and... well you can throw in a whole bunch of insults here, and instantly becoming a hated character. While Fang Yun Luo (female lead) could only suffer through it, and eventually accept his love again, pretty much making her a weak character with bad judgement.

Overall it had potential, it could’ve been better, it could’ve been longer, but rather than dislike the male lead (which I do because I’ve read the story) his character only became unreasonable and bipolar in order to fit in the story and length. While it’s so easy to discredit a female character through her taste in men... <<less

Definitely not worth reading.

This story was highly frustrating and disappointing for only being 10 chapters (which is probably the biggest blessing). The synopsis is a bit misleading because the characters and the supposed romance does NOT live up to the hype. The beginning chapters were quite entertaining, but as the story progressed, the story took a nose dive.

One of the most disappointing aspects was the main couple of the story. The MC is built up to be a strong, independent woman despite her ordinary appearance. Unfortunately, she doesn't stay this... more>> way for long.

The ML is a horrendous character with no positive characteristics or qualities. How the MC loves him at all is a true mystery. Also, the ML does not seemed to be a well developed character on the author's part. The ML seems to be very contradictory (supposed to be superior and smart, aka the ideal man, but still dumb enough to get tricked by a petty scheme). <<less

TLDR: I might sound like earlier reviews, because I'm assuming everyone became disappointed too. There are parallels with Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang, and I wholly encourage those who are interested in picking this up to alternatively turn to the latter. Or better yet read Empress with No Virtue, it's funny and there's actually a development.

~~~~x~~~~
Warning: I'm basically ranting because this was so frustrating to read! I couldn't even drop it because it was so short (which is the best part of this novel) and I held a tiny hint of hope it would improve.
The beginning had so much potential -- their meeting and circumstances were interesting and the characters weren't one dimensional. Or so I thought. I was waiting for it to get better, but instead it went down; as in the story plummeted like the temperature in Canada.
The main character was smart and was supposedly stubborn and strong. The *quote* hero had the capacity to grow as he is living in a society where polygamy is virtually the only relationship and meeting a woman who wasn't just a pretty face, yet feeling attraction to her charisma, should've slowly changed him. Yes, cliché, but still a nice story to read. The antagonists had understandable circumstances that could've helped us feel more sympathetic or more hateful towards them. SO. MUCH. POTENTIAL.
Then I don't know what happened. I guess the author decided he needed to end the story ASAP, and as I said previously, the plot just fell. Everything that COULD'VE happened... didn't.
Spoiler
MC was so unwilling to be with the guy in the beginning and I actually respected her for it, yet after a few kisses, she kept on compromising with the selfish jerk, who was basically attracted to her because (1) she saved him before, which is a the perfect example of the suspension bridge effect, (2) she was only "unusual" to him because of her initial rejection of him (how can anyone reject such an amazing specimen of a man!) and he was mystified of her fairy tale belief of a one true love, and finally (3) he had this alpha-male single mindedness that refused to let him be considerate of anyone but himself and his self interest of conquering any woman he sets his eyes on, like the animal he is.
Then his concubine, who he knew was jealous, claimed the MC was to blame, he immediately believed her without investigating the issue or respecting (hah respect, as if he had any of that towards himself or other people) the promise between him and the MC. I've read Peach Girl before, and one thing I absolutely hate is when a person who is supposed to trust the one he or she loves instead believes another person's words.
[collapse]
Nope. The romance tag should be deleted since I didn't feel like I saw any love in this. Someone said it before, everything and everyone was so shallow. (.5/5)
It started off great, getting better, up to the climax, and then... nothing. IMHO, the story ended too abruptly. Although the story’s premise and character personalities are interesting, but then they are not well fleshed out. Too many holes in the backyard left unattended, so even though this is a fun read at the start, you’ll left hanging when it ended.
And the MC love interest is so hateful, the author should make him beg for forgiveness and suffer a couple of beatings!
Still, this is a good read, able to make... more>> readers feel involved with the plot and everything, so many thanks for the translator :) <<less
This was by far one of the worst books I have read. The synopsis here led me to believe the MC was someone who had her own notion of love and loyalty and refused to compromise them just because she was a woman and society expected her to conform with her husband's behaviour (whatever it would be). I was expecting to see a determined, normal faced MC bring down all the delusions of a privileged ML. Ugh. What a waste of my time. As I read on, an insane amount... more>> of rage welled in my stomach.
Spoiler
The ML is arrogant, sexist, a rapist and believes he is entitled to whatever he wants. He has no shred of compassion or understanding of what it means to love someone. The MC clearly stated her intentions, and he was (understandably, considering the era) bewildered. Did he think there was a need to take one night out of his r*pe sessions to have a heart to heart about what the MC believed in? Of course not. Because love is pampering her and having s** everyday. WTF. I am appalled at how casually he forces himself on her (by incapacitating her nonetheless) in the name of love. That is just all sorts of wrong. If there were awards for most loathsome male lead, QEL would be a direct finalist
[collapse]
The characters are so shallow and have nothing endearing to speak of. The MC was promising at first and then turned out to be such a disappointment that I just couldn't bring myself to care.
Spoiler
I pushed myself to read to the end hoping there would be a deliverance of some kind. I wanted to see the ML suffer and lead a miserable, lonely life and finally see his ex and child living a free, happy existence with a better man she encountered on the mountain. Author, I am so disappointed in you.
[collapse]
Honest advice, don't even bother.
PS. I think the translator did a good job despite this series being what it is and I really appreciate their efforts. My one star is only for them. <<less
This is like reading a tr*shy harlequin book.
Here I thought I'm going to read an awesome female MC based on the desription, but no, as soon as she met the male MC she turn s*upid.
Never mind about the author ranting she ventured the world with her master to perfect her medical knowledge, etc (all the good natures crap). Her brain stop fnctioning when she interacts with him.
The male MC is an as*hole with capital A. A warning to reader that there is a dubious consent if not r*pe (I would call it r*pe).
Spoiler
He sealed her pressure point, you can guess the rest what happen next..
I was reading hoping she smarten up and give this a hole a lesson, sadly I have to look for another novel for that.
Where do I even start... what even was the author thinking...? This novel is so terrible that I can’t even function after I finished reading it. The female lead is such a disappointment, and I’m starting to think she is a victim to Stockholm syndrome... It was a breath relief seeing her run away from him, and then she freaking returned. She runs away, but comes back for her maids happiness? Be selfish for once lady! You’ve been through so much, but still want to stay back in your unfortunate predicament. The main character woman saves a man's life and they separate, not knowing one another's identity. Some time later, an edict makes them marry, but the guy was already tricked into thinking some other woman saved him, so wanted to marry her instead and hates the main character woman. The main character woman overhears this and doesn't really care, making a rule that he can't touch her and he can have all the fun he wants with the other women, and he agrees. Not even a chapter later, he's already... more>> trying to force himself on her. He ends up raping the main character woman because he's attracted to her anyway. This is where I stopped reading this because it disgusted me. Doesn't matter if a man is married to a woman, if he forces himself on her when she's shouting no, it's r*pe. I despise r*pe in stories, even if she ends up enjoying it and they live happily ever after. Also disgusts me how easily the main character woman crumbles when it comes to her own convictions, saying she would only be with one man and have true love, then after being r*ped agrees to be with him even knowing he has a concubine already, one he's had BEFORE they even got married. I would have given this zero stars if not for the fact that I was worried someone might think I just didn't give a score at all, rather than the lowest possible score.
I'm sure the lying woman, the concubine, ends up doing something jealously s*upid, trying to kill either just the main character woman or her and the male lead, but the duo comes out victorious. However, it doesn't matter as I'm already disgusted by this. <<less
Well, it's not that bad, but I can't say I like it either. At first, I was relunctant to read this because of the reviews, but worry not. If you only want to read something light and just wants to read something (?) try this.
I actually like the beginning, and I understand how the ML is that way since, HELLO (?), the setting is in ancient china where polygamy is the common sense whereas it contradicts our, us the reader's, principles and ethics of monogamy.
Though, poor LanYun, she betrayed her country for a man, yet that man is not really sincere in his treatment towards her. But, after thinking about it, LanYun is the character which I can say is the MOST closer to a real person. She betrayed for love, but because of growing up spoiled her mind is muddled with jealousy that all she sees is her husband and his loveydovey intimate interactions with his princess.
You should not expect too much from the leads. Other reviews are right with their judgement
ML about being unreasonable, possessively wrong, hypocrite, and for me, he is cynical. As for the MC, she's also a no good. Though she's determined to not allow herself be suffered, she still easily welcomes him back as if nothing happend
so read at your own risk.
Overall, it was ok. I understand the plot, but it seemed rush and just like the ML, so unreasonable, that the author seems like putting this and that and ends up in HE (!?)
especially, the ending. The heck happened to LanYun? She was not mentioned anymore! The heck is with the ML's head!? Just because he believe what he see, then wouldn't every plays in front of him is what he believes!? Just like LanYun accusing MC, and not investigating anymore and did some self pity, yes! SELF PITY! Drowning with beautiful women and alcohol won't solve anything.... And lastly, THE HECK with MC!?? She's too emotionally weak! Easy to be swayed by love, and do not have resolute decisions. With her like this, I would prefer those naive idiots and airhead protagonist...
I would advise it only for those who like disappointments or those who love to live things for imaginations and food for thought. The story starts well but somewhere in between the author loses it while in a rush to finish yet it has a lot of potential for more twists and turns. I would rather have a long novel with a flowing story than a short one that looks rushed.
The plot goes awry immediately the ML r*pes the MC. The normal reaction would be to hate the ML but... more>> NO she falls for him instead, going against her "strong" character.
After suffering in prison with her so called love not doing anything to investigate or exonerate her but was so eager to r*pe her every night, the least the author could do is give her time to think by letting her escape to go back to the mountain and have her baby peacefully without the ML's interruption. The ML was not even ready for the baby news since he was still mourning the other baby and punishing her for it.
The separation would have done both of them some good as the MC would have had time for herself and to get back her strong chracter and the ML would have at least felt some regret and sincerity before being brought back together. That is if they really had to get back together.
As it is, the story is so male chauvinistic like "As long as you are male you get away with anything since girls forgive even almost getting mu*dered with just a sentence about a dream and all broken promises can be justified." <<less
