I'll not lie, I TRULY wanted to like this one, I started reading it after finding the manhua and since I enjoyed the MC and ML dynamic I was curious to read the novel

It's confunsing at first, but after 10 chapters you get the purpose here, it's really a lightly read, and sincerely I feel the author had no idea about what they was writing because after 50 chapters things get down to a VERY unnecessary direction

The issue for me is not the shift of tone that until then was mostly fluffy comedy with some angst, people complaining that suddenly it get dark are ignoring the war and that a conspiracy is happening behind scenes, so what follow up some events is not even a surprise in my opinion, but HOW it does happen is what makes this novel a complete waste of time

Now I'll talk about spoilers, HEAVY spoilers, don't read if you're going read this novel

Ok, first, I'm really annoyed with the lack of attitude from Jun Xuanheng, I can buy his naivety and his dumbness, but the way he don't do ANYTHING more after Ye Tan receive the Sect Leader title is ridiculous, it's literally his Golden opportunity, Ye Tan could give him the world, obviously leaving him behind was s*upid and instead of getting his guards and Qiqi and living the Old Whatever's territory for 3 months while Ye Tan is locked, it's his opportunity to build a safe place for him and his little found family, but nooo, he go back to where the enemy would attack him easily, HE KNOW HE WAS HATED BY THE OTHER SECTS, HE KNOW PEOPLE DON'T TRUST HIM, HE KNEW THAT YE TAN WAS THE ONE CAPABLE OF PROTECTING HIM, and he still choose to be s*upid!

I can buy a lot of bulls*it, but characters who can't think before acting for the sake of the plot is annoying AF

The fact that he didn't do the effort to learn how use the system and abuse it for his favor is another details that makes my blood boil

The plot of reicarnations hold no impact because at this point I just didn't cared about his character anymore

Still this is not even what was a deal breaker for me, oh no, what REALLY made me angry was

a random NPC killing the MC as easily as me killing a fly

The fact that Jun Xuanheng was killed in Ye Lan's hands not only SHOCKED me, it made me want throw my phone! Such thing could be a great twist, IF IT WASN'T UNNECESSARY!!! The fact that after such plot twist, I had to endure more than 5 chapters of boring Ye Lan and Ye Xiao backstory was torture, like sorry, are them the MC and ML of this novel now???? I DIDN'T asked to know about characters that was, until then, secondary!!!

It's not even that I don't like them, BUT YOU JUST KILLED THE MC, AUTHOR, I DON'T WANT READ YE LAN X YE XIAO, THANK YOU

Seriously these chapters SHOULD BE EXTRAS AFTER THE NOVEL FINISHED AND NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT

Ye Tan being killed OFF SCREEN, the ML LITERALLY died OFF SCREEN, and you only see it in a weird scene after reading 5+ chapters of s*upid side couple 1 backstory 🙄

That's and the amount of plot holes is the reason that makes me think the author don't know what they was doing here, it feel rushed, with almost all the important political things happening in the world being COMPLETELY ignored, the villains are forgiven and their crimes are forgotten for the sake of the HE, said HE that don't feel satisfactory because of the way these characters did get there

The novel was pretty interesting until the author did give up on writing it

The only thing I didn't frown up in this sad excuse of a plot was the relationship between

Ye Jun and Zhongli Zixi, the side couple 2, they had a good dynamic, both sadly suffer thanks the rushed development, I don't feel anything about them, but I liked their potential

This novel is GOOD and FUNNY

but watch out, cause the angst came out from left field. From down town, I tell you. I was NOT expecting all of THAT.

But no worries y’all. Everybody got a happy ending. Just keep reading. The author put in a real plot twist which I thought was gonna ruin the novel for me. Cause I HATE tragic endings for side characters. I care about them.

It’s actually a good read, but as said read the tags and warning. But you will kinda forget those as you read as it is really sweet and silly. But no worries its still HE. Now maybe I can go read the manhua now. Thank you

I'm not finished with the whole novel. But I'm at the last side story (I think) which is about Jun Wuwang and Ye Tan. To be exact I'm at chapter 101/98. (Because NU said they are only 98 chapters and now we are above it.

But I really just want to praise the author on how amazing they are in handling the characters. They are so distinctive, consistent, and round. Like when the flashback on the shadow guards' past happened, even though I didn't memorize their past names (except for Gui... more>> Mao) I still recognize them. And also the risky/unique part of the novel when the

Honestly when Jun Wuwang appeared I felt an existential crisis for me and for Jun Xuanheng but also I feel really bad for JW and for the first time truly hated JX's s*upidity. I even want to drop it because of the complex emotions brewing inside of me. Thankfully, it was handled well and did not ruin the novel. Super glad that they still got together, the perfect one for one another (even though it took goddamn hundreds of reincarnations) for the perfect match to unite. STILL, I'm not comfortable with them, everytime they appear in the extras I feel like not finishing the story (like now) because of my "complex feelings".

Fudgeeeeee. I lOOve themmmm. I love their individual characters, and how the author developed them from being confusing/mysterious characters from the MC's point of view or other people's point of view, they are also recognizable, consistent, and reasonable, and of course, I love their dynamics/chemistry (in truth I'm sometimes furious about their schemes, but after a while, I'll say Nah, schemes are the one they have in common in their DNA) JUST JOKING. I get how they became that. I wish them a long happy life in this life and their reincarnations and hope that they'll be each other's homes.

I think there are only a few chapters left but I cannot binge them so I'll absorb them slowly. Sorry for the spoilers btw.

Edit:

It turns out there is only 1 chapter or 2 (??) about the 2nd reincarnation. And the rest is MC and ML gosh the last chapters are so steamy. And in the end I binged them. <<less

I just want to say that I have a mixed feelings with this novel!! In the first half of the story, it made me laugh like crazy and also irritate me so much that I just want to smack the ML hard in the head goodness! I like that he is doting kind of ML but I hate it when he always mentioned his past masters with sentiment my goodness! But all in all I like the main couple especially the MC, he's so cute wtf but I'm sometimes irritated... more>> with his naivety too. WHAT MADE ME CRY IS THE LIFE OF THE SIDE COUPLE YE LAN AND YE XIAO THANK GOODNESS THEY'RE ALIVE!😭 But anyways I don't know why the ML still have some hesitant about the 2nd second master because I still don't finish reading this, I write a review here just to vent my frustrations!

I read the manhua and was very sad that the artist won't be able to complete it. So I went to look up for the novel and here it is. Although it only has 2 chapters I hope to be able to read it till it's completion.
