- The first chapter starts in a blast - Rebirth, Transmigration, Spirits, Showbiz related plot... And both these points can make a story go awry. This is because when we follow a story from a child's perspective it might get boring or we might be annoyed with the MC's choices and attitudes, but the author chose to center the story around her while developing slowly those who came in contact with her. Much of the plot is told in the eyes of those around her and so, we have the development of many of the side characters here. One weak point, but expected, is all the 'fan reactions' 'comments in the internet' and such, which are common to modern world showbiz settings. Ik that many people dislike reading that. But to those who join their crowd and like the MC's loveliness, you can fangirl together, it doesn't hinder much as it happens only to show how popular she is in her line of work. This is not a story where we watch the MC grow from a child to an adult. Its just a baby girl with her MC aura going around spreading cuteness. Another point is the short period in which the story is told (from chapter 1 to the end) - less than a year go by, and so this was made like a movie recorded on a short period of time about Sui sui's life. So, now I'm going to talk in more depth, but since there'll be spoilers, read at your own risk.
First, the MC is a spirit that is naive towards humans and what it means to be a human. You can see that she grew sheltered by her older sisters, both Nature spirits turned human, and one of them after turning human became an actress. And there's a reason for that, it seems that as they gain popularity it becomes easier for them to progress in cultivation. My guess is that it works like divinity. A god gains powers as more people worship him, our MC becomes more stable as she is loved and idolized by people.
Of course, she has a child's naivety and so she didn't do anything on purpose. She has clear likes and dislikes, but she is very sensitive towards those who want her good or bad.
I like that the parents had a proper development. The mother is just a common woman, she had problems with her family and then because of her lover going MIA she also went through a lot of emotional troubles. Although her daughter was scouted to be a childstar she was still thinking of other ways to find a support for both of them since she didn't want to exploit her 3 year old kid. She is solid.
This story doesn't have much dog-blood drama. The characters not always are scarred from tragedies, but from problems that are very much human. Like our Papa Ke, that had a problem - his personality, arrogance and immaturity. He also develops quite well, turning more mature and, albeit reluctant in the beginning, he understands his changes and is very happy with the results too. Sister Fu had a scar from the divorce of her parents and her mother's death, the shadow gradually clears but doesn't disappear. Lu Chi doesn't have enough screen time. If this story was longer i'd like to have seen it.
And the climax of this story should be when MC finally manages to get her father back, afterall she is a child, and a child's happy ending is to have a complete and happy family. After that I could see that the last chapters were mostly preparing to close the story and there's not much going on, but its ok. Just some final family scenes and a final look at the characters.
if you want to read a relaxing fluff story, this is just the book.
it’s true that there are some loose ends in the story by the time it ended, but I suppose we can imagine the endings for the side characters. overall it was cute and wholesome.
