That's why I'm really sad it's on this list, because of the sheer number of issues I had just with the ending. I can say, it's mostly pettiness because the story really is good but to me, those issues were tantamount to the disappointment of being on this list. My first of many beefs with this is MC's tears. To this day, I still don't know why his tears are so all-powerful and magical (even given who he is, it still didn't make much sense)? Not only that, but in most instances, it seems unclearable without the use of MC's tears. MC and ML use his tears repeatedly, but shouldn't the instances be clearable without them? It just seems like a lazy overly-convenient cheat, when this was supposed to be an intellectual, problem-solving-type read. How are other people without his tears supposed to survive then? It would've been best to show the scenario of the instance in full to prove fairness of point distribution and to show the logical and plausible way to solve the instance and survive. My second biggest gripe is the author FORGOT my two fave characters that really made this story come alive and I am incredulous. Hei Cha and Tang Yu are the people I were most invested in, but we don't even get a snippet into their current lives to see if they remember MC nor if they survived and are well. Not even a small side story, nothing. Speaking of which, those were the worst side stories I've ever read. Why even write it? It didn't add anything to the story and weren't the least bit entertaining. The random love confession was NOT felt, bro, especially since MC said he'd probably already long been in love with ML, but when and how did he decide that? The last arc was flat, boring and lacked any real danger factor, so what was the point? It was unraveling MC's past mystery, which was cliche as hell (and still didn't clear up how Nightmare World and the system came to be), but I digress. Gay rep, trans rep and lesbian rep. It was really giving me life for the first 3/4 and I still recommend it. <<less
