the way author goes about with the plot is amazing, and the #1 most appealing part of orv is definitely the characters and their characterization. literally, this novel comes alive thanks to the characterizations. their emotions make up so much of the story and so many things wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the characters themselves. although it’s obvious for any story, but orv’s characters  are just so especially integral to the story’s progression.

i find myself so deeply connected to the story, because it was written with so much love and meaning into it. this novel is basically a love letter to all novel readers out there, to everyone suffering just to say that they are there for them. it’s so beautiful, and i hold the main trio dokja, joonghyuk and sooyoung so close and near my heart. especially joongdok, and especially more dokja himself. i love them so so much. <<less

lotm is an AMAZING read. unlike orv, where the story is built on the characters, lotm is mostly built on the excellent world building and all the intricacies that come with its world. author really makes us feel that lotm is its own proper world. i’m impressed with the detailed economy system too, which took a while for me to understand… i eventually did pick it up, but it took a lot of examples before i completely grasped it, like i was actually a kid learning the usage of money in real life. it’s amazing.... more>>

i cannot stress it enough, but lotm’s worldbuilding is just so so fantastic. author really paid a lot of attention and care towards making the world and it really shows just from the first chapter by how they introduce everything so naturally that it’s boring. but of course it gets better later on, and i mean by a lot. from the living world, to the astral world, the underworld, the sequences, the pathways, the deities and just everything, they’re all introduced neatly and it just gets sooo much better.

and by making the world so alive with all these intimate details, the characters come to live, and it makes them very easy to get attached to. the novel touches on many issues we have irl directly, and it’s heart breaking. by the end of volume 2, i was devastated, hopeless, and even more sad that i knew what happened in that volume is a reality to most people. the characterization doesn’t fall behind the worldbuilding, and i really must praise the author on this. they’re just THAT good…

this will get too long if i went on and on, so i’ll end this on the note that i am very attached to klein like i am with dokja and i love them both dearly. <<less

where do i start? a friend of mine recommended this novel and i'm super grateful that they told me about this novel. i already loved at the beginning how the mc cale was adamant on living a slacker life and tried to avoid trouble. the classic "smart guy acts dumb to avoid trouble" trope. he's also an unreliable narrator, but it's done well where i don't get angry at him for being unreliable lolol.... more>>

this novel's characterization and plot twists are so good..!! one of my favorite things about tcf/lcf is the fact that the author always brings back characters from the earlier chapters, so nobody is really a cannon fodder and they manage to appear once or twice in the later chapters. heck, even a character that was mentioned once in the novel could be such a huge plot point.

although the writing isn't amazing, it's still good enough to read and aside from that, the story and characters will draw you in. i especially love choi han and cale, and as my original nature is a shipper, i obviously like to ship them together... ahaha. if characters could be bias wreckers, alberu is mine.this is super recommended to people who just want to read some good fantasy story!! especially if you don't want romance, as tcf/lcf doesn't have any of those and the closest you'd get is bromance between choi han, cale, and alberu. <<less

inevitably, this novel has its flaws. something that i don't mind but others might is that xiao yuanmu and song xuanhe has a few dubcon moments, so if you're going to read it, i'll warn you about this first.

other than that, this novel is also a slowburn, xiao yuanmu and song xuanhe's romance doesn't occur in the span of one day. it took a hundred chapters before xuanhe acknowledged his feelings for yuanmu, but it was worth the wait. they're one of the top comfort ships i have.i'm definitely going to be re-reading this in the future when it's finished translation. wish there were more than three extras, but i'll take what i can get.. <3 <<less

this novel is really, really well made. i'm really in awe of xie lian dianxia and hua cheng's relationship... i don't know what words are good to describe it, but i just feel the love they have for each other especially hua cheng towards dianxia. a lot of the things he said to dianxia broke me and made me sob like an ugly mouse.... (not ashamed to admit)

aside from these two, the plot is also amazing and i love the side characters too. by now, i've forgotten the contents already, since i have a bad condition of remembering things (lol), but if you asked me how i felt about this novel, it would be definitely "amazing". <<less

a part of me died a little when i finished this novel. i absolutely love xie yang's petty and arrogant nature, although he acts like that, he's super caring for the people he loves and always works hard to care for qiu xing. the ml qiu xing is also nice, he seems cold at first but once he opens up he's super warm and affectionate towards xie yang.... more>>

though i have to say i kind of didn't like how xie yang never told qiu xing about his transmigration, it's not something that bothers me a lot though so i could just let it go. <<less

i had expectations for this novel, and it definitely did not fail me. by the time i had read about ten or more chapters, i had gotten hooked and read all the released translated chapters in one day. i can positively say, i love song yu and xie sui and how they interact.... more>>

another thing about this novel that i really like is how song yu and xie sui are both strong enough to fend for themselves. i'm not a fan of weak and naive shou, so this is a super pleasant read. it also adds cuteness, a gap moe is always great~ <<less
