The only thing carrying this entire story is the ML and the translator, because one is pure and amazing and the other is hilarious and amazing.

The MC, sadly, didn't meet expectations well enough in my opinion. She was just kind of bland but I guess I shouldn't have hoped for more.

It's a good story if you want to read about an ML that isn't an a**hole!

Too sweet!!!

Cough, cough, the emperor really really pure! Too pure! He is the epitome of gap moe. Dang, how can someone be as pure as the emperor? I will always cheer him on!!

I can understand the embarrassment the princess felt. I mean, if I also can read someone's heart, and the contents in his/her heart like that, I will die because second-hand embarrassment lol. No kidding. The emperor's heart is too precious!! Very precious!! He is a rare goods!!

Recommended for light and cute read. ???

At first, this was a solid, very fluffy story. However, the author really should've just ended it at the first arc.

If you read this, I recommend stopping after you read the first arc; then you'll get a nice, fluffy story with a bit of tension and development, and a good ending. A story I'd give four stars.

After that, the story becomes inconsistent, with the author seemingly forgetting or retconning a lot of the character development and scenes that happened in the first arc. (Tbh, if you wanted you could probably... more>> even read the second arc as an alternative first arc).

Another problem is the main character, Tistye. While the male lead is actually fleshed out and given a personality, all Tistye is is just... a shy, dutiful wife with a sad backstory who falls in love with Gaizel. That's it, the whole sum of her being.

Other than one or two exceptions in the first arc, we never see her do anything other than wait for Gaizel, spend time with Gaizel, follow him around. She just... doesn't do anything! Not even paperwork.

The only preference she expresses is "this color because it's the color of Gaizel's eyes" or "I like this because it's a gift from Gaizel".

Spoiler

That whole scene where they're designing her tiara is basically sums up this problem. Once she realizes she can't pick whatever's cheapest because everything's expensive, she basically can't choose. Even Gaizel expresses a preference for diamond and tourmaline in his thoughts. And then the stone that she does choose is basically described as modest. And all she can say when asked is to not make the tiara too flashy.

[collapse]

Her whole being revolves around being the object of Gaizel's love and affection.

And though she can literally hear Gaizel's inner thoughts (which are all about loving her) she still doesn't seem to understand that he's going to be happy that she took the initiative to visit her, after a year or two of knowing him?

The best thing about reading this was the translator; they did great work in translating, and those translator comments were both thoughtful and funny. Thanks for your hard work!

Basically, this story suffers from a severe lack of story and character development. If you want to read the kind of fluff where the main character struggles to kiss her husband (who she knows is madly in love with her and takes her as his reason for living) for 20 chapters, then this is the story for you. If you want a nice story, read the first arc and then forget about the rest. <<less

The only things carrying this story are the ML and the Translator.

Seriously the T/N notes make my day-

The MC is about as interesting as a blank paper. She’s written as a sort of trophy wife who waits for her husband (Fiancé in this case) all day. I don’t think we’ve even read about what she does in her free time, besides thinking about the ML. She also hasn’t performed any Queen-ly duties yet, the ML takes all of that burden. I would love to see her actually handle some responsibilities... more>>
Spoiler

like how she found and accused the perpetrator behind the coup in the first arc. That was such a great moment. But after they resolved it, it felt like it never even happened and they all go back to square one with her courage

[collapse]

Nevertheless I would recommend this for the pure fluff of it all. The ML is just adorable! However all the developments that happened in the first arc (?) /half of the story conveniently disappear in a second half. The author became really inconsistent and progress slowed to nill, quite annoying.

Thank you to the Translator for their work and funny notes :) <<less

Like many others said, the translator and the ML are the one carrying this novel. I absolutely love the translator. She's hilarious and humorous.

The ML here is pretty great. I love him. His character has substance and he's more than just a typical tsundere prince. The FL is not up to par with him but I've seen worse. She definitely disappointed me in more than a few cases but she was also pretty good in a few of them. I don't have many problems with her personality but she was... more>> just not written well. There were some inconsistency, some loose ends and not much impression of her. She was just kinda... empty.

But, BUT! My main problem with this is the world building. I saw some efforts to enhance it but the problem was in the basic stuff! Rather than kingdoms and empires, it felt more like clans or tribes. The scale was too small! They went from one kingdom's capital to another kingdom (Verscia→Isiris) on a horse in less than a day. They travelled from another kingdom's capital to their main capital (Lacie→Verscia) on a horse and it took them only a few days (a week at most). When our CP was chased on a horse from the capital to a cliff (It definately wasn't too far), they fell off there and woke up in another f*cking kingdom (Verscia→Isiris). Wut?!!! Then a neighboring nation (which btw has the whole kingdom of Isiris, even if it's small, and a hill track between them) attacked their capital without attacking any other cities between the border and capital with an army. It was a FREAKING ARMY yet nobody noticed them coming. Even if there was a betrayer it ain't possible! It was as if the capital is the entirety of the kingdom, there were no other places. Then they requested reinforcements from other friendly nations. Don't they have their own border armies? Or a second army other than the ones in the capital? And you call it a powerful conquering nation?! WHAT ARE THESE?! THE CITY STATES OF ANCIENT GREECE?!! Also, they dethroned the emperor labeling him as a rebel. Fine, I will ignore it. But, their was no mention of anyone else succeeding the throne after this. When he went back, only some nobles from the court and some royals opposed him. Even if the other emperor was a puppet, there wasn't even a cameo of him. So, a kingdom was being lead with no king in the time in between? f*cking hell! You call this world building?! I dropped this novel entirely for this illogical and dumbfounding world building!

But, if you want fluff, it's there. The couple is cute. The romance is good. As long as you totally ignore world building. Author should've just focused on romance. The more they wanted to show off the world building, the worse it got. Their details were great though. But like I said, problem was in the basic stuff. Its 2.5/5 but I'll round it up to a 3 just for the ML! <<less

The story isn't bad, but it's not that good either. I mean, the highlight of the story is the gap between the Emperor's words and thoughts. And that's it, nothing else.

Read it for the fluff, but if you're looking for some deep story, try somewhere else.

This was fun. Basically, the emperor loves her to death but can not be sincere, thank god she (future empress) can hear the voice of his heart and understand that his frowning and seeming cold attitude is due to his social ineptitude.

This gimmick gets old after some chapters (actually is hard, it gets kind of downplayed after some development, but in the second act the gimmick gets back at full force and more), but anyway is kind of fun and heartwarming at points, it would just be better if it... more>> was resolved for good at some point (spoilers I guess).

But the funniest bit is how the emperor gets c*ckblocked (well most of the time is kissblocked at the start but eh). I get that this may leave some pissed off at this novel, but I find it hilarious, and the non-resolution till the end made me laugh hard as f*ck.

It would be an almost perfect shoujo novel if the leads had at least one or two chapters of the full resolution of their feelings, in the sense of an open talk about how they feel at each other, and what are theirs preoccupations and stuff (like normal and functional human beings that hope to have a functional life with each other), but that is not the case and all is resolved by the FL just understanding the ML unlimited love and adoration (that is obsessive, but not to the point of psychosis and he himself says that he should not be such a control freak), and that is a sh*t solving point for a relationship (think about the future children you will put in the world if you can not talk as appropriate adult humans that talk about theirs feeling to each other and have conversations). Another point is the fact the FL is kind of a prop, she pushes the plot and all, but her development is kind of be capable of finally giving him a peck in the lips, oh my take the children out of the room please), it would do wonders for the novel if she gained some courage and certainty to show how she evolved and will be capable of being a fine empress (some minor resolution for how bad her childhood was would be nice too).

But even with those problems, I gave it 5 stars as the author had the audacity to troll and c*ckblock the ML for 68 chapters, I can not stop grinning at how pathetic this fellow life is. I recommend it if you like vanilla fun love-dovey chill-out love stories. Jut know that there is not a major resolution, and be prepared to have your expectations toyed with <<less

The first half of this was absolutely adorable and I really enjoyed it and got some chuckles out of it. It was quick paced and didn't really spend time really fleshing out characters but I thought "eh that's fine it seems like it's going to be a short but sweet story". I was completely satisfied when it wrapped up.

THEN the second arc started. It was like every bit of character development that happened in the first arc completely disappeared. Everything that happened and changed just *poof* gone and back to... more>> square one. 90% of the big plot points that happened in the first arc are either barely mentioned, completely forgotten about, or hold no weight to the second arc. At this point the MC is started to grate on my last nerve and I've lost interest in continuing.

I will, as always, give my props to the americanfaux translator notes as they are always hilarious or have interesting comments about the story. Extra points. <<less

I really didn't want to be too harsh but seriously, this story was so boring. I didn't know how I could gather a resolve to finish this story in order to give a fair review.

Spoiler

First, FL's personality was so dull. She couldn't do anything and merely acted as decoration throughout the story. Well, to be fair, she indeed helped ML once when she used her power to find a traitor among the noble but that was it. All she did after that was helping some spirits getting intimate to each other and helping some siblings to resolve their problems. Were they very important to the plot? Not really. What about her duty as an empress? None whatsoever. Also, after several months together and even professing her love to ML, she was still too shy and awkward in front of ML. It might be cute for once or twice but definitely not if it happened for too many times.

As for ML, he was quite adorable in the beginning but they way he exaggerated about FL in his heart became repetitive and a bit too much after that.

Next, about the flow of the story. The rebellion should be a climax in the story but somehow, the author put the rebellion troupe in the ealier chapters and it resolved rather quickly. After that, the story became very boring becasue it was only revolved around FL and ML's wedding preparation. And, did the author hate his/her own ML? Because he/she kept getting FL and ML's intimate session interrupted. At first, the kiss seemed about to happen but somehow it didn't. After they successfully kissed and wanted to advance to the next base, they never successfully did it till the end for various reason. It's because they're interrupted by others or FL got scared or ML thought that FL wasn't ready etc. AND IT HAPPENED UNTIL THE FINAL CHAPTER. Seriously, it's so tiring to read the interruption after the interruption throughout the story. I'm not even going to be suprised if they end up being in a platonic relationship until they're old.

You know how some cold male leads say some rude stuff to the FL and we are ambiguously left to hope that he'll be kind and compassionate later on? Well nope, not in this novel. Since FL has awesome powers, we can peek into snippets of the cringy ML's thoughts. I can't help but laugh. (/≧ω\)
I love this novel so much not only due to the author's butter-smooth writing, but also the endnotes from translator-san and the comments. C:

This is a good break from tense, distant ML and FLs.

Edit: Now on latest chapter. I'll wait it out if there are more releases. I feel a need for a spoiler. It's a bit empty right now, but still worth the time checking out.
