First let me say it's a very good translation, and a very big thank you to the translator for the marvelous job.

Unfortunately the novel doesn't seem worthy. It's very shallow and what should be big plot points get short shrift before the reader is jerked away to the next big plot point that won't be handled well. On the plus side it does do a very nice job capturing the classic characters. You have the shameless family, the people that look down on the MC, the garbage father, the Mary... more>> Sue MC and the sickly ML who is even more powerful.

If you are going to read for just the characters but not the plot or pacing it might be your cup of tea, if you like a good plot it's not so hot. <<less
