Rensley Maelrosen, the prince of the warm southern kingdom of Cornia, disguises himself as a woman to take on the role of Duke Gezell Jivendad’s bride in place of his missing sister. He embarks on a journey to the northern land of Aldrant, where an icy chill, both in body and soul, awaits him.

“In the end, you did ask me to save your life, didn’t you?”

Arriving in the northern land, abandoned by the royal family, Rensley faces the unfamiliar extreme cold that freezes not only his body but also his emotions.

The warmth of the people in this harshly cold land, akin to grass finding its place in unexpected places,

and the indifferent affection of Duke Gezell, who orchestrates a fake wedding ceremony,

cause Rensley’s heart to blossom uncontrollably.

“After the journey is over… I hope you come back.”

Even with the clumsy confession of the young Duke, conflicting emotions arise as Rensley, who loves him, must depart.

“I love you, Your Grace.”

In Winterfield, the coldest land on the continent where all the warmth in the world gathers,

there is someone who welcomes him with a comforting embrace.

This was interesting and entartaining enough. I did actually download Tappytoon just to read this novel and I'm not upset for the money I spent reading this.

It has a really interesting setup in my opinion. I also like slowburns so slow development of a romance while establishing the world and it's rules was very enjoyable for me. I've skipped almost all of the "steamy" scenes cause they are not so interesting for me as an actual story, but they were okay and I appreciate that they are actually quite nicely... more>> justified by the plot. The plot is entertaining and convincing and works quite well all the way through, even though the characters sometimes make decisions very out of their line :). The only thing that was a bit off for me is the pacing - it stretches the setup and development parts quite a while, even a bit more than it needs but when we get to the highest point of culmination it suddenly resolves very fast and easy. It could have been done a bit more creatively from my perspective, and give the reader a bit longer moment to savour the moment of plot conflict in

between the main characters, but it seems for me that characters were still acting along their plot lines and charactes establishments, so it didn't completely fell off.

I found the plot line of ML much more interesting than the MC, cause it felt like an actual change and development of the character, which was interesting to follow, cause the character was established well in the beginning. MC on the other hand doesn't actually develop or change in any major way, he actually stays the same character, as he was in the beginning, which upsets me a bit, as he was actually quite nicely driving the plot by himself in the beginning and made me wonder "what's he going to do next". His culmination plot line felt lousy and unconvincing, for me personally, especially contrast to the ML's line which was very well justified, though both their plot lines leading to the cultivation were establishe quite well -

what I mean is his really sudden decision to leave in the moment and reeeally out-of-nowhere part with another world\dimension and magic wolf interaction with following part of deciding to return as suddenly, as he decided to leave. You could say "yeah, but he is such a character - he's emotional and makes sudden on the spot decisions, and it was justified at that moment", and I'll say "yes, but that takes away the sense and importance of his decisions and its' consequences and doesn't feel like an actual flow of where the story was heading".

I had quite a lot of fun reading this, though after main conflict resolves it became too boring for me and I didn't find it interesting enough to read until the very end, though it was quite sweet and romantic and was establishing a quite good new plot conflict. It's just that after main plot conflict was resolved, it felt like culmination point was to high and it cooled out too much to be interesting enough to read forward for 50+chapters.

P.S. Also the novel cover ML's illustration is really good, I like it more than that in manhwa, but that's just me blabbering, anyway, can easely recomend for a fun, entertaining read, especially if you don't want to wait for manhwa updates. <<less

Step into the enchanting world of "Winter Field, " a literary gem that seamlessly weaves unexpected alliances, charismatic characters, and a touch of whimsy into a delightful narrative, much like a burst of confetti! 🎉 At its heart is Rensley, the protagonist whose life takes a wild turn when he's coerced into cross-dressing and marrying the northern grand duke, Gezell.

This fairytale-like story set against the backdrop of a medieval castle promises a unique and captivating experience! 🏰 The slow-burn romance between Rensley and Gezell is a central element of the story,... more>> advancing at a natural pace that tugs at the reader's heartstrings.

In the early chapters, Gezell discovers Rensley's true identity, leading to a beautiful relationship that evolves from allies to friends and then to something more. 💖 Gezell's character stands out for his hella respectful demeanor, particularly during intimate moments.

His care for Rensley's well-being, demonstrated by an immediate stop at any sign of discomfort, adds a heartfelt touch to their relationship.

Despite the challenges faced during the editing process, this aspect of their connection is a testament to the depth of their bond. ❤️ The character development of Rensley is a highlight, transforming from a figure of reluctance and awkwardness, given his unique situation, into someone who confidently voices his opinions, teases Gezell, and initiates physical contact.

Meanwhile, Gezell's gradual shift towards favoritism for Rensley unfolds organically, adding nuance to their evolving dynamics. 🌱 "Winter Field" is not just a romance; it's a tale of two individuals finding home and comfort within each other, set against a backdrop of a great magical adventure that promises to unravel in later volumes.

Volume one introduces readers to a world akin to meeting a bunch of cool friends, each character contributing to the narrative like pieces in a captivating jigsaw puzzle. 🌍 The drama-fluff combo in "Winter Field" doesn't compromise on the juicy storyline.

With its quirky characters and medieval vibes, the book feels like binge-watching a favorite sitcom in literary form.

The emotional rollercoaster experienced while cheering for Rensley's character growth and the relatable evolution of the relationship between Rensley and Gezell make this journey a memorable one. 🎭💕 The author's writing style is a revelation, characterized by simplicity and calmness, sprinkled with humor.

The battle scenes are not mere clashes but epic dance-offs, hinting at the promise of more adventures in subsequent volumes.

"Winter Field" is not just a book; it's a symphony of growth, witty banter, and a plot that unfolds like a blockbuster movie. 📝🎬 As the translator, I might be a bit biased but I also insist that within the pages of "Winter Field, " bias goes out the window.

It's an invitation to experience a world where characters grow, relationships evolve, and the story unfolds like the sweet melody of raindrops on a window.

This review is not just a critique; it's a heartfelt nudge to embark on the magical journey awaiting readers in "Winter Field." 📖💖✨ <<less

I honestly took a chance on this as a whim, and I was not disappointed. I really thought I would get bored, since there was so little angst and so much affection. However, I was entertained the entire time. It was a beautiful story, and it was refreshing to have characters that loved and respected each other so much. Wonderful translation as well (all emotions and scenes were vivid). This story was definitely a hidden gem.

First of all, Thank you for translator sama for providing this wonderful work❤❤

Having been tired with Gary sue MC and yandere ML this novel is a breath of freah air☺

So expect a free spirited and super proactive MC with his innocent 99%IQ / 1%EQ ML (there's gonna be improvement in that aspect so don't worry👌)

... more>> Coupled with Tut and many tut tut tut scenes is a super bonus that I love so much ❤❤

It might seem like its gonna be a short story but no since every chapter is super long despite translator sama splitting them a lot. I'm still half way through the story and things might change but so far its been a well balance story and im definitely camping😁 <<less

MC is a wild soul. ML is a sweet nerd.

ML's way of comforting is very unique and 100% in character.

When MC couldn't sleep because he was afraid of lightning::

Spoiler

Thunder and lightning are just natural phenomena. There is no evil in light and sound. And as long as we stay in the castle, there will be no risk of accidents.
