One day, Yuto Mamiya, a salesman who used to be an addicted gamer, was pulled into a mysterious space with the words, “I found you”.

He discovered that it was a gateway to another world, but the only two otherworldly abilities he gained were the ability to “become young again” and “see status screens”.

Without any cheat skills, he found himself thrown into a completely unknown world.

Why exactly was he “found” and brought to that place?

In a new world where weapons, skills, and magic were at play, he had the game knowledge and perseverance to play to the point of earning the dishonorable title of “God of Ruins”.

And with the knowledge from his working years, where he had never neglected his efforts even though he had no talent, he took the first step towards survival.

This just plain bad.. I don't know why the other reviews like this but its bad..

The MC is an adult 32 year old at that but acts and thinks like that of a brat.. I thought this series would be different but I guess not.. the way he just always apologizes is irritating me to the core, don't misunderstand me apologizing is not bad but this is just excessive.. the goddess tried to kill him but he just shouted, whined and dogeza, and he still felt lust towards them. Like... more>> ew... And for christ sake he complaints that he was kidnapped and dragged to another world but he immediately gives information to these goddesses that tried to kill him.

My english is bad so I cant explain much how I feel about this series but the mc's personality and character is just plain bad and irritating to read <<less

Okay so in the first 60 chapters he managed to say sorry for existing to about every single character in the novel introduced up to that point. He also behaves like a 13 y.o kid. Supposedly a functioning member of society a rather successful 32 y.o man that got "rejuvenated". Just make him a kid if you can't portray an adult. I don't know what the other reviewer read but it 100% wasn't this novel.
Spoiler

His first encounter with the goddesses went on like this. He though to himself they are beautiful and got Darth Vader force choked for it as a form of divine punishment then started screaming sorry. That was in a form of an oracle. Then came the second meeting with one of the goddesses this time in person and in about 10 sentences he did dogeza for even daring to breathe (small exaggeration unfortunately very very small).

So yeah please stop giving me false hope in the reviews I was duped into reading this because I thought he wasn't your typical japanese protagonist.

Translation is okay.

I read the Raw novel until the the last released chapter (438) and it's pretty good, the protagonist is not a naive, dumb, lucky, optimist brat that somehow, by the power of deus ex machina and plot armor can survive anything and get away with it withever thinking about it.

He have some cheats, I don't know if it counts as a spoiler because how early they appear in the story, but I will post as spoilers below.

Spoiler

He can steal skills and skill exp from what he kills, he can see his own status as numbers (normal people and gods can't see them, they can only know their skills) and he can freely allocate skill points (for normal people is auto-mode and only in the church), but in exchange he can't gain or change his job.

[collapse]

Heavy spoilers below.

Spoiler

He later gain unique powers from the goddesses, that from start were just observing him because he is an anomaly, but later started to like him because he is the only one that is not below them and he talk to them face a face like they were normal people and not a target of worship. So he made a goddesses harem.

[collapse]

He think before acting, have a sense of danger (a questionable one, but still exist), and do not hesitate to crush whatever bullsh*t the people tries to do and to retaliate with brute force without a single drop of mercy.

Heavy spoilers below.

Spoiler

Like when he was betrayed during a dragon boss raid battle because less people=less money to share, he annihilated the entire betrayer group without batting an eye.

[collapse]

He has a strong sense of justice and do not hesitate to hunt down whatever being that he considers "evil" and the best part is that he know that he is just self-justifying himself just to remove what he finds unpleasant and do not give a shit.

Mildly? Spoilers below.

Spoiler

He actively hunt down any bandits that he can for skill exp.

[collapse]

The story takes a bit of time to the protagonist go to the OP mode, but every step can be felt, and in general it's a pretty good novel to read

I can't say anything about the translation quality because there is only 2 chapters now, but for now it is okay? <<less

I hate harem with a passion, but this isn't really a harem. The "harem" somehow sticked to MC, but they mostly do their own stuff without him, so I find it much more tolerable. Plus, the mc's group has some male characters, so it balanced everything out.

Basically, it's a story of MC travelling to different countries to hunt and get stronger along the way, meeting new people too. Some of them become somewhat relevant characters, reasonable characters.

World building is.... well it's there, it doesn't feel like a one of a... more>> kind fantasy world, but it's definitely not just "japanese culture+magic". I can tell the author put a lot of thought into the geology of things, maybe he can go deeper in terms of culture, but the MC mostly focuses on hunting monsters and the only foreign people he interacts with are adventurers. It's logical tho, the world and background makes sense, it's just that I would appreciate it if the author goes further. But MC only travelled a small part of the continent, there are still many opportunities

Power progression is nice, the author makes it almost impposibly difficult to max out skills, which is nice since maxxing out everything early on takes away the tension in fights. And up to the newest chapter there is still no fight between MC and one of the strong countries or people from those countries. So basically MC still can grow stronger even when he is somewhat op, which is awesome <<less

I have read this novel from start to end, it was fun, although it did have some harem elements it is not the typical one where his harem follows him all over the place.

Main points for:

He started at Zero, struggled to survive, and though he did have a very broken skill which was at first thought of as just status display, it turned our that it absorbed the experience points of skills of anything he killed, be it monster or human. It is not a plunder or steal skill but... more>> more like depending on skill level he gains XP from skills possessed by his targets and gain it after killing a certain number of targets that have the skill.

It was also told by the goddessess managing the world that the way he gains skills is not far from what normal people from that world gain skills, and the only difference is that his experience gathering is more optimized and unlimited.

He also is not an unstoppable monster that usual MC's of this type of genre become. He had to face challenges and monster far too powerful than him that despite reaching the top levels of power, he is still over and over told by the world that he is still not at the top.

All in all, it is a fun story that do follow some of the usual tropes but blend it in a different way. <<less

I have read the raws and find this novel interesting...

In summary and a little bit of spoiler:

Spoiler

The MC didn't start with anything other the things he carry, barely surviving and doing his best to live, after learning that he could become stronger by defeating monsters, he continued to grind until he could do things on a stable state. He is a hard core grinded and focused solely on his grinding in the early part of the story, until a certain encounter.

The managers of the world, the Goddesses summoned him on their realm and was about to end his life, he was about to be killed without even understanding why, even after doing his best to survive, and slowly gaining power to live. Being the MC, he was of course allowed to live but not after pleading for his life.

After that point, it was a continuation of challenging stronger monsters to gain more skill and adventurer work, he didn't become an almighty existence like every normal MC become after a few chapters but actually doing the work of painstakingly hunting what he needed.

And the most interesting part is that the world is not so lenient enough to simply let him become the strongest, as he encountered people and monsters far beyond what he could understand and with a power that he couldn't even fathom to reach. He would definitely reach it one day but as the story had gone so far, he is only on a level that he would be strong against normal humans, definitely among the strongest.

Rating is for the original not the translation.

The novel is pretty nice so far, I like the MC espcially in the revised version :)

Cant say much about later chapters yet.

... more>> Translation is ok I guess, it just seems off on some parts. Also chapters are weirdly cut without telling readers...? Chapter 19 in translation and chapter 14 in raws end at the same part. Made it hard to switch to raws after reading a bit so I had to start from the start : (

I will edit as I read further.

Edit:

1. As I reread I have to say translation is only less than okay.

2. I wanted to add that the review by nightbringer has blatent lies? Or they didnt read the same novel. Considering their other reviews it seems to be an issue of perception.

Spoiler

Eitherway, the example with the goddesses, the maincharacter was seen as a danger so one of the gods used full power to supress him so the MC apologized out of survival instinct, but immediately after he lashed out on the gods. 3 line of apology vs 10 lines of lashing out and insulting them.

[collapse]

Afterwards he apologizes to the gods for some stuff later on twice up to chapter 120. Other than that he apologizes to his friends for lying about himself. But that was also way later than chatper 60, so idk where he is supposed to have apologized to everyone ever mentioned. <<less

it's not about being hero or demon lord the story is about MC helping the goddess develop the world also get stronger, very focus to world building, adventuring, hunting, and new country explorations.

so as you espected the story is very slow with a lot of chapters to read.

MC got kitnap by misterious god and just thrown into random forest without any skill and explainations, MC try to survive, grain skill also level up.

i like the interaction MC with the 6 goddess, like the goddess so much they are best girl... more>> and have unique characters " waifu material "specially alicia you will feel sad to her later.

what make this series good is MC and every goodess get character development, but very slow, until reach chapter 170. MC learn not to be naive using earth common sense because it does not working in other world common sense, the goddess learn more how bad the underworld situations.

the real plot of the story and thing getting very serious until chapter 175 that is why I said the story a bit slow to start.

Spoiler

the world si abandon by Ferza God of Creations because he give up, loki was summon for the last rezort because how mess up the world is because Enless War and the s*upid Evil 4 Heroes ruling the world doing anything they want, so be prepare for tragic story suddenly coming be cause it hit really really hard (you will not prepare to see a very angry loki).

It's OK, definitely NOT 5 stars at all, even for an isekai.

Typical Japanese excessive internal monologuing and explaining. The MC is sorta just adventuring around, monologuing about the monsters, attacks, having other characters info dump about the world. Really REALLY not 5 stars...

Good your bored read though.

Well for the isekai trope this one is a bit of an odd one. To start with the MC is not the only person isekai'd instead the world this is set in is littered with people from our world and not just japanese are being reincarnated but everyone is.

Some on the background kinda spoilerish for the first 50ish chapters.

Spoiler

Basically the setting is that the world is a so called "abandoned world" where the great creator god made a world and filled it with different races and made it dependent on statuses and skills then left 6 goddesses in charge before leaving. Earth being another world created and controlled by the creator god is connected to this world and the goddesses in an attempt to help their world and make it progress have been randomly reincarnating people from Earth. However, their way of reincarnation is truly random in that they just randomly pick people who wanted a new/better life and then gave them whatever skill they wanted at lvl 10 (which is a big deal in this world) but if the person in question nagged enough they would be given 3 skills at lvl 10 and even blessings + decide where they were reincarnated. The people who didn't nag were just randomly reincarnated and most of them ended up as s*aves to the natives. But because the goddesses had such a hands off approach they had no idea until the MC showed up.

The MC on the other hand is a "transporter" someone who is seemingly grabbed by the creator god (or at least implied to be) and then directly sent to the world instead of reincarnated. Then dropped inside a forest filled with monsters it's implied many before the MC has been transported but the MC is the only survivor. The MC's "cheat" compared to people reincarnate is that he got his youth back, was given an extremely detailed status screen (basically everyone else can just see their skills and skill lvls, while the MC can see stats, lvls, skill points, skills + skill lvls, what bonus stats skills give and the skill tree.) on top of that he is also able to absorb about 20% of the skills of anything he kills. This includes monsters and bosses who holds skills exclusive to them and are impossible to gain normally, though he can't use all of them like for instance since he doesn't have a tail he can't use a skill called fire tail but he still get's bonus stats from it.

His only weakness is that he doesn't get any skills at the start and he's unable to get a profession, getting a profession gives +1-2 lvls in X skills while also making it easier to lvl up X skills and in some cases gives skills exclusive to that profession. Example being a witch would give +2 in all magic skills and make it easier to gain and lvl up magic skills, while being a Miko would give you the exclusive skill divine message which let's you directly talk to the goddesses for a few minutes per day.

So the MC's growth potential is through the roof compared to anyone else especially because of the monster skills so he can get skills like white fire that makes his fire burn on a different lvl or how normally the bonus stats skills only give something like +5 in a stat per skill lvl the same type of skill for monsters give them +3% in a stat per skill lvl.

[collapse]

Most of the story is focused around the MC and him growing stronger and honestly the story is mainly about the MC growing stronger and gaining more and more skills. While the MC especially in the start appears fairly naive and a bit like a pushover he quickly turns into a bit of a psychopath and while he keeps spouting and thinking that his main will is to grow stronger, fight evil and beat villains the way the MC does this is closer to a mad demon king then anything else.

To give some examples, spoilers ahead.

Spoiler

The country Lagrese that the MC starts in is explained as being a human supremacy kingdom that has been discriminating against anyone non-human for generations and turning anyone not human into s*aves or straight up robbing/mudering them. Because of the kingdoms location and how the continent is made up they have also been blocking the trade routes of their neighbouring demi-human kingdom named Waltz. Because of this Waltz is suffering a lot and war has been on the horizon for 10ish years between the two countries. Then Lagrese tries to make the MC their retainer / secret weapon since the otherworlders are seen as such, basically the 4 countries with 4 strong otherworlders are the main rulers of the world so every country wants their own strong otherworlder to become a superpower. MC of course refuses but somehow accepts to meet Lagrese powerhouse who turns out to be a decent grandma who is nice to the MC and helps him.

He then get's asked by the grandma if Lagrese should change their policy on demi-humans to which MC agrees and then for little to no reason the Grandma + King decides to remove discrimination from demi-humans and the trade blockage of Waltz. Still to start with it's hard to imagine how all of this that has been going on for at least hundreds of years in an instant but the MC goes off the grid for a few months to go hunting monsters and when he returns he finds out that Waltz still declared war on Lagrese and invaded some 10 days earlier. Lagrese is easily beaten and is about to lose but then the MC joins in cause the Waltz no longer had any reason to start a war since the discrimnation + trade blockage was now removed and also MC created maps that the Waltz used in their invasion so he feels guilty. Basically the goddesses made it so that no one would create maps by giving a mental block when someone is born because maps where used to wage war in the past but now the MC wants to spread them to increase trade. So now Waltz are equal to villains so the MC has to stop them. Then it's explained that Waltz being on the brink of going broke didn't have money to pay it's army so it instead promised loot and land so the armies are looting and pillaging while exterminating the humans. So even though the war is almost over already the MC charges in and kills most of Waltz army on his own something like half a million soldiers.

We are also then told that most of the soldiers didn't even have a choice in joining the army but all of this was to blame on the royal family of Waltz since they in their dire state started borrowing money from Marie (another powerful otherworlder) while their country was in poverty they lived in excess.

Stuff like this goes on and the MC easily kills people in the tens of thousands but he's oh so kind because he will mostly give them 10 seconds to surrender before he kills them cause a random teenager appearing telling everyone to surrender in 10 seconds makes sense and if they try to surrender after this he won't care.

Or like how when crushing an illegal s*ave company doing human experiments then one of the s*aves who doesn't know he's there to rescue them tries to take him hostage to escape the MC cuts of both his arms and then leaves him on the ground slowly bleeding to death as a punishment for trying to take him hostage but also to experiment how his skills works and to see if he will still get the kill reward if someone slowly dies because of his attack.

Like I have no idea how we get several chapters talking about how evil these people are and then the MC does close to the exact same thing without batting an eye. At the same time he almost always have one of the goddesses following him and they all always goes raging mad at what people are doing but they don't bat an eye or even comfort the MC whenever he does the same thing.

[collapse]

Basically if you like reading a story where the MC just goes around growing more powerful and there is a large focus on this while the MC also starts a harem while killing people left and right and pretty much strong arming or even killing anyone who doesn't see things how the MC wants then this is for you. Also I can't stress enough how much focus there is on the MC growing stronger since most of the chapters are about him gathering skills and explaining how the skills works. <<less
