Anyways, would recommend. It's a bitterweet plot, and it isn't an emotionally, torturing inducing tragedy. Pretty typical but good. Kudos to the translator.

Definitely speaks the truth about life. That's why sometimes I don't give out too much hope and expectations for certain things I expect to give me happiness or luck.

Like in a test, acting like you're totally passive about your score just for it to result higher.

Great, I got here by accident and thought it would be a quick fluffy oneshot (didn't see the tragedy tag)... All I have to say is, it was great, amazing even, it's just all I have to say is "WHY?!", why you gotta do me like this making me sad and broken and crying, I am faint-hearted, the story was realistic which made me feel like it was real or maybe it really did happen and it makes me think of scenarios of what happened afterwards which just isn't all... more>> in all good for my heart and soul... But definitely 5stars would recommend amazing story except for the fact that its kinda sad which is not my cup of tea cos I have a condition called 'prone to crying'. <<less

I saw the tragedy tag and hesitated but I read it anyway because it was a one shot. How much pain can a oneshot do? The answer is: a lot. All I have to say is that now I have to go read something else to cheer myself up... after I clean up the pile of tissues I just used.

Same as everyone else, I read this knowing that it had the tragedy tag attached to it but my curiosity was great and I went in mentally prepared for the angst. Maybe because of that I couldn't fully enjoy the novel and felt I was watching a ticking time bomb and was helpless to stop it until it blew up in my face. Regardless I enjoyed it and hope the couple would be able to meet in another life and that xiaomei is able to find happiness.

This was unexpected and heartbreaking. For such a short story the blow from the pain was heavy. This is not even the kind of story where you can say “ you don’t know what tomorrow will be so make the best of today” because everything was so unexpected and I wan to believe that the only regret was the long distance that separated them.
