Since the Description is rather sparse and no other Reviews at this moment, I feel like letting you know about it.

Just some sentences in and you might feel like knowing this story... It is a slap down danmei version of "warm bodies" (a novel/ movie with Nicolas Hoult). The whole setup including rescuing the ML, bringing them to the airplane, freshing up, danger due to "the bones"... well if you saw the movie, you get the gist. Edit: It starts to differ from around chapter 15.

To everyone... more>> who hasn't seen it... this novel is written in first person through the eyes of a zombie. A rather strange zombie, since he started to have somewhat of a personality. He tells us about his daily life and how zombie "live" and eat, when he meets this one person.... somehow he doesn't eat him but disguises him and brings him back to a hideout. The little zombie starts to change and realize some things... he understands more, start to be able to form words and his wounds heal? But the person, that he doesn't want to be eaten, doesn't belong to his group and himself not to the living ones... even worse, the "bones" are stirring up... so the little zombie brings his human to the other humans... and a strange journey begins.

Edit: In the post-notes the writer admits to drawing inspiration from "warm bodies". You can clearly see it in the world building like the bones/skelletons are those zombie that rotted and lost hope and are purely evil, while other zombie might have hope to become "human" again. The writer also pretty much copied the humor of the original and did a good job there.

Though it started like the drawn from movie, it begins to differ from around chapter 15 and goes a whole other way. It's still a happy ending but also kind of open.

The story is short and fast paced but OK to read. Nothingspecial but also not bad.

I'm just irked by the obvious similarities to the movie and therefore always see the movie version in my head. <<less

This is a fast paced heartwarming bittersweet danmei. Good to read when idle or taking a break from reading long stories.

A bit confusing when it comes to transitioning from different settings, which I think some are deliberate because the author mixed in flashbacks and dreams mid scenes. And at some parts I can't distinguish which pov I'm reading.

The writing is not that bad. Overall three stars plus one star because I enjoyed this danmei and I'm satisfied with the ending (⁠｡⁠･⁠ω⁠･⁠｡⁠) ⁠ﾉ⁠♡
