A dungeon suddenly appeared on Earth, granting humanity newfound abilities. However, these powers were confined to the inside of the dungeon. The use of magic and the manifestation of supernatural abilities were only possible within the confines of the dungeon, leaving the real world largely unaffected. Despite this, the lives of many people continued unchanged.

In the midst of this, the protagonist, a high school student, awakens to a skill known as “Gate,” a teleportation-like ability. With a displayed level in his hands, a new adventure seemed to unfold.

On his way home from school, the protagonist decides to test the Gate skill at a normal street corner. In an instant, he finds himself standing in a different dimension, surrounded by unfamiliar landscapes.

In this modern fantasy world, the protagonist levels up, learns magic, and hones various skills. He faces the mysteries of the dungeon, encounters new allies, and immerses himself in adventures different from the real world.

Tried reading, but the translator employed a method of “defeating” website readers. I like using the reader function cause it makes it easier to read site, but I do understand that some “thieves” steal content through it.

The real issue is that it affects the site even in normal mode. Everything is basically treated as one endless line, yes, even the space that makes it look like paragraphs. It’s why word become “broken” at the end of a line. And that makes it just that much harder to read. Words like... more>> “granted” being split to “gr” and “anted” is one example, but it can get worse. <<less

The story feels very flat and the elements of magic/level system are rather poorly displayed. The protagonist seems to more a player in front of the computer rather than living within the story. If he feels nothing when his magic points are 2/60 and he oblivously can call forth without any problems and consequences magic it makes it seem more like button pushing rather than using a skill.

Its a decent read about a kid that makes bad decissions and actually pull through at what he does, without considering that he might be doing it wrong. (Cant blame him for being clever exactly.)

As for Story Seedling, the group that release the chapters. Eiter they are using an older machine translation program, or they like to mess around with the chapters. For example: Any men or women will be described as the opposite gender all the time, and sometimes the gender-mix gets combined with some poor translation that... more>> you cant understand a thing at whats going on at times, and both jobs as well as skills can change names from time to time in the story as well. (Making even more of a mess of the story.)

Its a confusing read from a group that doesnt have any proofreading nor someone checking the chapters for quality drops. (At this point in time, Im not even sure if they even know any english after reaching ch160..) But as long as you dont have any expectations, and are prepared to skip a few details here and there, it can be a good time-killer to read while waiting for any of your other main novels to update. <<less

So, I managed to get through 25 chapters of plot armor, with many indications that it would only get thicker. I was torn between 1 and 2 stars, I decided to generously give it 2 stars, which may have been overrating it.

As someone else said, the story is very flat. It's like he's playing a computer game.

The setting itself defies all logic.

... more>> If your government suddenly has gates showing up, would they truly let completely untrained individuals go in to die?

Seriously? A One day training session on how to use the dungeon and then have at it kid!

And the author's thoughts on mages? That's when I started to bail out. <<less
