I think this is one of the author's weaker stories, but still good. It's about lovers who get separated while they're young and only get together later, which is a theme the author likes to write about, but for that reason this story felt a bit repetitive to me since I've read all her other works, and I think some of her other novels with this theme were a lot better.

Not to say this one isn't good, and if you're reading Ka Bi qiu for the first time, you'll probably... more>> like it more than I did, the author is great at writing heartfelt, minimalistic, 'sweet and sour' stories with lowkey but heart wrenching angst.

The MC in this story suddenly wakes up and finds himself in the body of a lego bunny. The toy is owned by the ML, who it turns out is his former boyfriend that he hasn't seen in years.

Together the MC and ML has to try and find out why the MC's soul has left his body, and how to get him back to his body.

During their quest, they gradually grow closer once again, and old wounds from the past resurface, particularly the reason why they broke up. It also becomes obvious that neither of them are over the relationship even though it's been years.

Sadly, this is one of very few stories by this author that doesn't have any explicit chapters. <<less

A story of reunion between MC and ML who parted ways back ten years ago. Due to an accident, MC's soul transmigrated into ML's Lego rabbit. MC's hot temper in the body of a rabbit figu**ne is just too adorable. You can imagine him kicking his tiny legs in anger. ML was very gentle and patient towards him even though this meeting was very surprising - finding your ex in your toy rabbit. This meeting gave them a chance to work things out again. MC kept thinking that ML moved... more>> on without him but was thus avoiding ML. However from the interactions, you'd find that ML still loves MC very much. The reason of their separation was painful and sour. I kept feeling that pang of sourness throughout the novel. The story was gentle and heartwarming. ML is a really nice person and MC has a great personality too. The only disappointing part is there is only a very tiny bit of smut. This one also felt a bit bland compared to her older works. Overall I still enjoyed sweet stories like this. <<less

It's WORTH IT!!!

The story flows, plot, drama, characters, and ending was well executed!

Sure I won't call it Perfect, but it was Satisfying and makes me Content!

... more>> Everything Revealed in the end. No secret between them. Not Plot Hole whatsoever. It was That Good!

Enjoyable and Lovable Characters!

Both Love each other Unconditionally, Pure, and Eternal. Things in the past was well written in realistic, heartbreaking, but not horrible Horrible. Shows their Youths and Struggles. Their Helplessness. Shows their flawed characters... But that certain scene has it own charm. Sad but Understandable.

They both each other Great Happiness. ML's Soft Obsession toward MC was also Understandable.

It's really hard to say with words how the Story was not too Light nor Heavy... But well Meaningful and somewhat Wholesome!

I'm Truly Absolutely Adore this Novel and Really IN LOVE and Forever Loving it For Eternity and BEYOND!!! <<less

The plot is nice, but there was kind of a lack of tension between the main leads that even when it lead up to the climax did not give me any particular emotions. The personality of the leads is very well fleshed out though. Their pasts, their motives, etc are very well described and there is also a sense that not everything can be solved by love, even after they fell in love they still had their own struggles and getting into a relationship didn't solve everything. If there was... more>> anything lacking it would probably be dialogues with other characters apart from the male lead and I wish the author would have fleshed out the relationship between Xie Min and his brother more. I give this a 3.5/5 <<less

Really lovely writing and translation was fantastic as well.

I enjoyed the way the author utilized "show" not tell, crafting a beautiful story of the two main characters, their heartbreak / breakup and mutual pining over the years. There was just the right amount of mystery and tension and clues to piece together.

However, the main source of the breakup was something I wasn't a huge fan of

Spoiler

ML unilaterally wanting to protect the MC even though the MC really wanted to leave everything behind to join him and wasn't some snot-nosed kid; he made the decision with full awareness. These kinds of breakups seem more common in CN stories where people hide things and lie to family members in the form of "protecting" them.

[collapse]

It especially s**ked because

Spoiler

it was strongly implied that the MC would have been way more happier making his own way with the ML and building business empires while being together. Instead, the MC suffered through a decade of loneliness and being mentally/verbally ab*sed by his awful father and working for pennies for his awful dad, wasting years of his life. He also suffered from sabotage and near-mu*der working in his father's company.

Eventually he leaves his father to start his own company, but one can't help but think how he would have been so much happier if he'd done that much earlier.

[collapse]

That's why I wish

Spoiler

the ML had grovelled a bit more for his unilateral decision back then. He also didn't do anything you'd expect like apologize to the MC for breaking his promise like a few days? A week? After they had gotten together and him agreeing when the MC said they should be together forever.

I get that the ML felt like he was dragging down the MC and didn't want the MC to suffer with him, but guess what? The MC suffered a shitton anyway! Which always happens when you make decisions for other people!

[collapse]

On the other hand,

Spoiler

the ML isn't to be blamed for wanting to protect the MC. I liked how he, unlike other CN MLs, knew his behavior was stalkerish and bad and he tried very hard to maintain boundaries, work on improving his psychology, and not stalk the MC.

[collapse]

Otherwise, it was a really touching story and a pleasure to read. <<less

4.4 out of 5.

Silly and cute, with just the right amount of angst for its length and overall vibe. I would have liked it better if it was more fleshed out but it was still nice.
