This is a novel with a dead link, and I don't really recommend mtl-ing it. It's still a really good novel though, if you're familiar with xiang sheng (crosstalk), or speak Chinese. Its a novel with a lot of things introducing the traditional art of xiangsheng and traditional Chinese music, it also introduces stuff like kuaiban and liuhuo.

The romance isn't in depth, but it's very cute and comforting. Not much drama, and I think the main part of the novel isn't the BL, but the xiang sheng part.

Even so, I... more>> can see why the review isn't really high. It's a traditional Chinese art, and oversea viewers probably can't find comedic moments in it like we Chinese do. There's definitely a culture barrier so it might seem boring or different to oversea readers. Perhaps something like how foreigners might be able to laugh at comedians, but how some people here in China don't really get the point of why they're laughing. There's also the problem of translation, since you can't possibly translate the Chinese in a xiang sheng to English forcibly, and it would be just too weird and unnatural if a bad translation group were to do it. This is also reason why I don't recommend using an mtl to read this. Of course, there are really comedic moments that are understandable for oversea readers, but it would be hard to translate the xiang sheng parts.

Basically, I'm here to persuade to you to give this book up, and don't think about reading this unless a good translation group picks this up or you know Chinese. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

Actually this isn't too bad as MTL now with the improvement of the AI translations. Using Google's inbuilt translation in chrome, for example, the story is very readable on places like shubaow. Even the extras are available on some other websites if you googuru using the Chinese title of the work with the word for extra (just copy paste it from the Shu website after reversing translation).

MTL has come a long way in a short time 👍
