【When we were in the heat of love you wanted to gift me an island, when we broke up, you made me pass out in anger.

When you’re in a predicament you folded a paper crane for me: come to my island.

Come to your —— is there really such an island?】

One night, my bed broke through the window and flew out, bringing me to this strange island.

On the island, I reunited with my ex-boyfriend went missing for many years. He turned into a rabbit. A white, soft, plump rabbit, (who) spoke with the low timbre of an adult male, “Save me.” His little head turned, I suspect that he is cursed by someone, and needs a true love kiss to turn him back. But, I’m unexpectedly his true love? When breaking up, he even called me a pig. I smirked, laughing gleefully, “Ha ha, saving this person, no I’ll never save him!

Tr*sh, you also have that day when you fall into my hands!!

Hi, I'm one of the translators for this novel. I just finished crying (my tears were well-spent) and I've come here to write a review right after finishing the novel on JJWXC. It's a realistic and touching story. Though you may find this story to be a niche one, if you read till the end, you'll find that it is a good story. Below is my review after reading the novel. I wrote it as vaguely as possible so there are no major spoilers.

PS: It's not all tragedy; the first... more>> half of the novel is quite lighthearted and it gets more serious in the second half. I only cried when I reached the very end of the novel. Nevertheless, the author doesn't forget to include cute/sweet and funny moments as the story goes and I laughed many times throughout.

PPS: This is not a full romance story per se, there is romance for a portion of the novel but I would say that it's does not take up majority of the novel, and this is not your conventional romance kind of story. Rather, as a whole as a whole it is about growth, not really character growth, but

growth from healing.

On the plot:

Spoiler

I can't believe I'm ending 2020 with a touching and sad story (it's already New Years Eve here). I don't cry a lot, but I cried twice while reading. This is a touching, realistic story about a couple and also their own lives/backstory. I really love the author's writing, not too lengthy, just right. The author made me cry with just a couple of lines (that's how good I feel the writing is).

She is also really good at building things up; what I mean is that everything written is deliberate, EVERYTHING the author writes has a reason behind it (she hides it and foreshadows really well, only once you read further it'll slowly be revealed, and you'll understand EVERYTHING when you reach the end).
I know when reading some of you may think that the male lead is "tr*sh" but please read further until Ch 42 or so. Without spoiling the plot, all can I say is that this is a very realistic story (it may not seem like it now but from around Ch 30 onwards the story and the things/situations the MCs face will hit home and tug heartstrings, hard, real hard.

Spoiler about the themes of the book:

Spoiler

For me, I think it is primarily a story about regrets, letting go; accepting, and growth. The book (to me) also portrays a realistic relationship of a couple, the quarrels, making up, their feelings, thoughts etc. It also depicts the hardships of life/working and a society that favors males, when the author touches on those topics my heart aches for them.

Comments about the ML & FL:

Spoiler

Don't hate the male lead, try to think from where he is coming from. I believe he loves the FL, it's just that he's that pragmatic and realistic. I too can relate to him, I'm also realistic and pragmatic (though not as much as the ML). Under those pragmatism, I believe he cares for the FL. Though I also think he doesn't have much tact.

As for the FL, she's so kind, really. Is there such an angel like her on earth? She's also very cute and loveable!!

And their romance is like a dream.

12 July 2022 update:
We have been busy with real life but we are still working on the translation of the novel (albeit a little slowly) just that we are not updating the chapters here. <<less

This is a novel with the same author "To Make He Yu Regret". With fantasy and mystery elements to restore ml's amnesiac memories. Like the previous story, don't judge too quickly a character. Maybe you'll dislike ML a little bit.

Spoiler

Since there is a tragedy tag, you have to prepare a tissue.

When I read this I felt art.

The story feels humble and earthy, a story that embraces flaws and integrate them into the characters to make them more human. The author is definitely proficient in transitioning, the pace, mystery, writing style, you got that here!---it's simply a masterpiece for me especially when I see its movie in my head.

As for the tragic part, I weeped for like 2AM in the morning XD but some stories were really just better off ending this way. The tragedy doesn't make one feel really heavy,... more>> instead it feels nostalgic, albeit regretful it was also liberating.

Recommended!

(PS. Photograph - Ed Sheeran didn't hit me as hard until I read this😭) <<less
