    REMINDER: This is my personal opinion. No hate to anyone especially to the author/s of the novel.

    I really got hooked even though it's a cliché plot. Modern world with a bit of special powers. It's not the best, but it's still worth a try.

    Xiao Jinshen (ML) is from the most powerful royal Xiao family in the world. Ye Suxi (MC/FL) is from the wealthy Ye family who treated her cruelly. She has mysterious identities with many vests. FL is strong and can learn fast, but she hid her skills because... more>> she was instructed by her mother to be low-key for her safety. She eventually becomes stronger, injured, then high profile and invincible at the end. The novel focused on the FL becoming worthy of being the ML's wife by building up her power, exposing her vests one by one, getting revenge to all those who framed and tried to kill her, and learn about her mysterious family background and identities along the way. It's a bit fast paced. The entertainment industry is not her main career. Great! I'm tired of that career. It's not heavily focused on business management either. It's just on the side.

    The relationship between the FL and ML is smooth sailing with no misunderstandings. No angst. The FL gets healed by the ML with attentive love and care.

    What made me continue reading the novel was uncovering the truth about FL and there's actually action. Why do people keep on targeting her? As the novel progressed, the FL experienced many assassinations. Fight! Fight! Fight! Also, you'll think that this person is the mastermind but later find out that he or she is just a chess piece of that mastermind, then that mastermind is also a chess piece of a bigger mastermind. So on and so forth. It's a BIG net of connected troubles so uncovering those secrets, schemes, and conspiracies were fun.

    The author gave life to some of the side characters, such as the couples Ye Sulou and Ying Yinian, and Shen Ruoxuan and Wei Chenluo.

    I honestly didn't like that five-year treaty and the conditions. Anything without consent is not my cup of tea, but fortunately, they are just side characters or else I may have to consider dropping it. I didn't like that he would hurt her from time to time. I even wished that they shouldn't be together. The good thing is that there is noticeable progress in the character development of Wei Chenluo to treat Shen Ruoxuan better as well as the fact that he never harmed her father.

    Sadly, the author didn't write much about Tao Ziyi and the owner of the black market. I was so excited about her first appearance because FL and Tao Ziyi are best friends and it was hinted that

    she is a/an killer/assasin. She could have been a powerful ally to the FL but she only showed up again at the end of the novel. She did help the FL by giving her a high ranking token of the black market after they separated. The token helped FL a lot when it came to investigation and looking for information. It would have been great to know how Tao Ziyi and the owner of the black market become a couple.

    I feel that the ending was rushed because

    after saving FL's parents and grandparents, they both went straight to having a grand wedding. The ML could have spent more time with his parents then FL and her sister catches up with her family and grandparents from her mother side. Give them time to have their moments. It was mentioned that they did spend time together but it was so brief. I thought there would be more scenes about FL being with her relatives especially her mother because she loves her so much and thought about her a lot in the novel. The enemies are all gone so immediately proceed to the grand wedding, I guess?

    There are some parts where the author didn't explain enough (unless I missed it) such as:

    How did Ye Xinwan and Zhao Xiuye convince everyone that she committed su*cide by jumping off the building. They didn't find anything wrong with Ye Xinwan's "corpse, " so how exactly did Zhao Xiuye do it? It was mentioned that there is a medicinal plant that can make people "dead." Did he use that? It wasn't mentioned. I'm surprised that FL didn't even investigate deeply about her "death" when she knows best that Ye Xinwan is not the type to kill herself. I know, it's probably to make the story longer but at least when Ye Xinwan showed up again, she's still the same weak person or else it would be really irritating. The situation where you could have eliminated the enemy early on to prevent them from growing stronger and bringing bigger problems in the future. Fortunately, it didn't happen.

    What happened to that designer who used FL's designs then became famous internationally? The FL didn't go after that designer? Her personality shouldn't allow that but there wasn't a continuation about it.

    We'll never know unless I missed it. If someone knows please tell me which chapter it was explained.

    Overall, I do recommend reading the novel. I will only consider reading it again if I totally forgot about the plot, because reading it won't give me the same enthusiasm since it is a cliché plot and I know all the mystery and stuff. <<less

    it’s a 3.5
    It’s a cliche novel with satisfying face slaps and revenge plot. Though the story sometimes develop in an awkward fashion. Liked the ML and the fl. The FL has some character progression but there are inconsistencies and the ML is flat. Still the romance between both is sugary and fluffy like cotton candy.
