I love the story so much but I heard the translations stopped at ch 879, currently the raws are 1500+, if I'm correct the last time this was talked about was 7 months ago which is March 1, 2021, I hope someone will pick up the translations soon.

Anyways, I will talk about the novel, it's amazing, Merlin is a demon lord and Alice as a Holy Aide is a weird chemistry that works, because their personalities are lovable, we see Merlin and Alice hidden sides, and despite the introduction of... more>> more characters we never deviate from these two, after all they are the sole male and sole female lead.

The story at the beginning is a little forced, however I can accept that because if it didn't we wouldn't get a fast introduction and understanding of the personalities of the characters, you might feel a bit turned off with the terminilogies used but keep in mind it's all humor, it's rarely dark humor. I can the story a solid 9.5/10, since I somehow can still remember the names of every villain, and that's a rare thing especially when I forget every characters name in every novel I've read.

The deconstruction is very impressive, since it can do world building very well, the author is also very interactive with his/her own audience giving notes on how they constructed this plot line and giving the readers suspense on how long it would take, the anguish, anxiety, the build-up.... let's just say you won't regret reading this.

And when we reach to that chapter, where they finally reach a common ground, you will find many hilarious and cute moments, and I can guarantee you would be pressing your own chest to keep it from screaming "cute", it hurts your kokoro, if you get what I mean. <<less

I have yet to read too much into this novel, And I will update my review eventually.

But I suggest reading the Manhua/webtoon version of this if you are lazy to check the webnovel from the start.

from the Title of the 40th Volume as well as the last chapter's title, the story should be finished.

The story is pretty fun romance comedy adventure. Nothing too special but also less than the usual cliches so it's a pretty good read overall.

The relationship actually progress, although it's slow, but it does progress and there doesn't seems to be any kind of harem at all. So it's a pretty solid romance.

I also don't completely agree with the other reviewer's spoiler.

He said the character have negative braincell coz otherwise they would be married before 2000 chapter but it's not like the whole story is just based on them realizing their feeling for each other and they do make progress and realize their feeling and actually call each other husband and wife way before the 2000 lol,

plus it seems they even have a child named Chris L Clodia (Clariss is better Translation but author typed it Chris in English lol) already. Although it's probably made between them with some magic shenanigan or something and not normally, you can see her from the official pictures that the author posted as well.

Regardless of that, I feel the relationship so far, had a slow but decent growth and development and well, the novel is already ended at 40 volume with them being together for real and have a family of 3 with their child.

This novel would find its place in top 5 percentage of novel I have read. But it sill had potential to be tapped. There were many plot holes in the story like how did the elf God know demon prophets true identity. Who was the first prophet if Merlin went back to past for Alice and where did first merlins sword (I don't remember the name but m talking about the one that steals life) come from, and also the clearly rushed filling of the plot hole of the... more>> so called mistrious east swords man and many that I forgot while immersed in the story. Overall I would say it's a pretty good story clearly different from copycats and has a new vibe in it as it's based around western fantasy which is rarely seen in modern web novel community <<less

Was reading raws and got so bored that I fell asleep at c59. You know a novel's not great when you can't even keep me up to the paid section. Well, this novel may be good for 'new' readers, but the pace is so slow that it's obvious that the author is just waffling. otherwise they would easily get married within 10 volumes and so the author wouldn't be able to drag the story out to 2000 ban*l chapters. Or the author's writing is just plain bad (more than likely as his spelling/punctuation sucks in raws.
