The medical parts are mediocre at best but thankfully both that and the MC's superhuman strength is not that big of a focus here.
seeing as people were complaining about the ML being somewhat of a pushover, a nice guy is his set up but he's never over-the-top nice. His uncle is an absolute pushover but managed to somehow care for ML in his own way, doubtfully with the aunty's approval. More likely, she's why he wasn't brought up at his uncle's but at his grandpa's. But seeing as it's his uncle's family, he never would say no to them out of gratefulness that he's still alive today partially thanks to the uncle. It's good character development that he managed to say no more often and be more resolute in decision-making towards the nasty side of their family.
Besides that, the fact that MC was rather foul-mouthed towards her child is not that bad. She was resolutely strict towards the son in order for them not to be spoiled. Ofc the main protagonist's children are never bad guys but realistically speaking, if both played good cop it wouldn't be a surprise for a child to turn out like the village chief's son. She's merely verbally strict and would humble him when people are over-praising him. It sure is a nice change compared to other child-caring novels where kids are unconditionally mommy's boys and are obedient and caring from birth and the father constantly fights over the mother's attention with his own kid, that's just creepy.
where MC opted to su*cide after ML's natural passing without a word to her children and grandchildren. Felt like she should've stuck it out a little for them, let them show some filial piety since they didn't have much time to do it because they spent their retirement traveling and the values in ancient times for filial piety were high too. I feel like it would've given them a lifetime of doubt in some parts of their children's hearts despite knowing how deeply their parents loved each other, their mother's love for them didn't measure up which shouldn't be the case.
