At first, ML is really small minded or at least, really stubborn and skeptical. But I won't blame him. Realistically, I would also be like that if I were him.

But I really wanted to more know about his pov specifically the last but alas.

he was literally not as good. By good, I mean kind and all that stuff other protagonists are known for. He's like... Just human for me. He's really like a puzzle. At first, you'll think: Oh, he's nice, helping others.

But later on you'll be: Oh. Oh!

He's not as nice as we think of. I mean it's already obvious from start. That he isn't that nice.

Reading the story, you can see that it feels like he was blank to others, feels like he has no feelings, completely detached.

He is. And it'll show in the ends of the story, he's not lawful good, neutral good or chaotic good or whatcha.

He's Chu Ruochun. The Celestial Master who suffered five hundred years waiting for his peace.

And that came in the form of his senior brother.

This is the basically the story of his happy start and not his happy ending.

It was mentioned (aka not written as flashback) he did many thing that can be called an Evil act 'just' to resurrected ML.

Idk... just, I really liked the ML at the beginning and MCs interaction and relationship with him... suddenly he turned into a cold type person, only softening with MC... and MC revealed his „dark“? Side? Idk, but like wanting ML to live etc... I feel like, even though we know their background and their relationship in the past, their sudden love for each other still came too sudden for me and didn’t make much sense... Also many things were glossed over... I liked the progress, before ML „regained his memories“, but after that... idk :/

Also... I like how MC respected the original body’s wish to act (even though, wasn’t it actually all for money for OG??) I wish they wouldn’t have forgetter the part of him taking over the body... I was waiting for the moment that the little brother realized MC was not his brother, but still accepted it, but this moment never came :/ tho not surprising, it rarely happens that this topic will be mentioned

One instance of this that I can remember off the top of my head is when the story said that Chu Ruochun's appearance was changing to his original appearance before rebirth. Literally one sentence spent on that detail. Not even an attempt to provide us with some imagery.

From the very beginning, he looked like a nice person. He was helping others and had a kind smile, so I never expected that he would have a really dark past. Some may even call him a villain. There is a tag for unreliable narrator, but still, because everyone was praising him and he always acted so gentle, it was a big plot twist. The true story behind the ML curse was also shocking.

So Chu Rouchun and Feng Qi are disciples under the same master in the same sect. FQ's family was mu*dered when he was 3 or 5 (I still don't know) because of some terrible emperor. New emperor comes in and years later 18 year old FQ decides he wants revenge. As a result he becomes the grand tutor (?) of this emperor who reveres Daoism and wants to be immortal. Old, shady, less competent 'Taoist', specialised in the dark arts (the bad kind) comes in. He's not even half as good as FQ or CRC, who's somehow EXTREMELY overpowered for some reason (feels like this needed to be explained more instead of only chalking it up to talent.) but he's got a smooth tongue and overflowing ambition that he doesn't match his ability or talent. So emperor likes this bootlicker more because his ego is stroked and starts to suspect FQ because of him. Dodgy 'Taoist' digs up FQ's past of being a survivor of the Feng family massacre after his family hides him in a cellar. He's rescued by his current master because of some debt. Emperor decided to get rid of him and FQ's tortured (?) before being publicly executed and his body fed to dogs (yikes). CRC only hears of this after his senior brother is mu*dered and goes mental. Don't remember much but he mu*ders the ENTIRE imperial capital?? By taking/sucking/stealing etc their souls? (Finish this later, tired)

the whole reason of the MC's rebirth was briefly mentioned, their origin story explained in several info dumps, the ML's personality change was perhaps the most confusing thing, since the question of where the ML's old personality become. It's said that it's like a personality in DID, in which it becomes dormant, but it's just a really lousy explanation.
