Huai Xingye had never thought about marriage, let alone coming home one day and being told he was getting married.

He dyed his hair, got into fights, wore earrings, and was a ‘punk’ in the eyes of many people, so he couldn’t imagine which family would want such a daughter-in-law.

He scoffed in his heart, but the marriage partner’s mother was too good to him, so Huai Xingye put away his sharp edges and treated her with respect.

But he didn’t understand, what happened when the marriage partner ran away on the wedding night?

Later he learned – the marriage partner Wei Xulan is a star, who have a lot of younger sister and wife.

The first day of their relationship, the two are polite and distant.

———

Wei Xulan: “You sleep on the bed.”

Huai Xingye: “No, you sleep on it.”

Wei Xulan: “How can I let you sleep in the living room? You sleeping here is fine.”

Huai Xingye: “…… thanks.”

Wei Xulan: “You’re welcome.”

Later, Wei Xulan, known as the high cold male god, actually also learned to pamper him ……

a good novel

sweet and really sad

the MC huai (shou) is a very nice person!
courageous, voluntary, but he lacks self-confidence when it comes to love or even to have the right to live...

the ML wei (gong) is very soft even if sometimes it is a little childish.
but most of the time he is serious and supports his darling.
he plays the child or plays severe because MC is too stubborn...
but luckily they're both super sweet.

for arranged marriage,
in fact ML is very happy from the start, but the wedding night he leaves because he has obligations...
and of of course he does not talk to the MC about it who feels rejected...
luckily ML recovers quickly because he wants a family, and this mariange does not bother him.
especially since he immediately loves his darling !
ML is very patient with MC because he is young and shy.

there are 20 scary chapters

Spoiler

from the r*pe of tao yan and his su*cide it's sad to the point of crying.
it's agonizing because he fell in front of MC...
MC doesn't want to live anymore...
MC wants to avenge his friend...
but MC does not tell her husband about it...

moreover ML learns the truth and wants to help MC to avenge the death of tao yan...
but because MC became "suicidal" and mutilated himself ML does not tell him...

so everyone works in secret.

the worst chapters of the author because it is very well written,
it's sad and stressful, at the same time frustrating because they don't talk to each other...

then MC wants a divorce... fortunately this problem is solved in two chapters.

thanks to MC, tao yan to other friends,
but the author does not write anything about their reaction to the death of tao yan,
it is too sad...

just two lines,
the one when the omega saved by MC tells him "it's been two days since he came to school"

and the other when one of MC's friends says "we learned about tao yan but you don't have to react like that, come back to school"

I think the author lacks tact
on the one hand MC reacts too strongly but he has every reason to be traumatized as a witness, and on the other hand everyone does not care ?!

[collapse]
but I didn't like this part !

another poorly thought out point

Spoiler

MC has only one big brother he loves and who loves him.

but they were separated during the divorce of their parents, and MC lived a horrible life until his marriage.

this elder brother comes back and does not look for him, they meet by chance.
that's also a little weird...

[collapse]

and the end I was looking forward to (because I had enough of all anguish) was rushed...

Spoiler

they had a baby, ok!
ML stopped his career, ok!
he told his fans that he was married and soon to be a father, ok!
MC never wanted to be introduced to the media, ok!
his fans were super adorable, ok!

but we never saw MC's friends again, yet he was very close to one like brothers !
and quite close to the other three or four...

[collapse]

I'm happy to have read it
but I'm glad it's over quickly

thanks to the author
thanks to the translator

The story is actually okay for me but before reading just a warning ⚠️

Spoiler

The story involves rape but it didn’t happened to MC but to his friend that committed su*cide (from my understanding)

apart from the fact that this is a genre I would usually not pick to read (omegaverse) it seems to be harmless, there is nothing about it that I found extremely outstanding neither is there anything totally offensive. The two main characters are in an arranged marriage and neither seems exactly thrilled about it just as the blurb implies. I mainly gave it a read because I saw that it had only been published for 3 min before someone gave it one star and have noticed this happening on all... more>> the newly released Yaoi themed novels and although I did consider that someone might have MTL'd it, this didn't seem likely as it was happening so frequently. <<less

I got really annoyed reading this, lmao so s*upid wtf is this..

i guess u get the MC psychology is unstable so he didn't say anything to his husband but I got really annoyed by that...

and the part when ML invite his friends to his house to introduce his wife I guess, he KNOW they will come but keep doing that to the MC, and when he try to COAX the MC to meet them BUT he did it again playing with the sx toys when he go up to the... more>> bedroom, u know how omega react to that and that pheromon things..

and when he tell his friends he act like he is confuse how should he do, and cancel the meet up for later LMAO...

i got really angry at how s*upid that was, that's why I write after reading that... I rarely write a review myself T.T <<less

I was kinda bored during the first half of the novel. It felt like nothing was really happening and everyone was just living their boring lives and interacting with each other superficially while keeping to themselves. Honestly, the main CP's relationship progress also felt kinda off to me, mainly on the ML's side since he switched from neglectful and uninterested to doting and smitten real fast. The MC just followed suit, falling for the other because the ML is the only one who shows care for him. Both of... more>> them are weirdly wired, imo.

The MC is self deprecating, introverted and quiet, doesn't open his mouth to talk to solve misunderstandings even when he is aware of them. But then he is bold and sharp-tongued with his friends.

And the ML doesn't send the MC to the hospital immediately when he finds the other injured, covered in blood and in pain. Nope, bathing him is higher on the priority list. Don't doctors always say not to get wounds wet? Dude seems to be lacking common sense.

Either way, I slowly got bored during the first half of the novel, then BAM, the dog blood angst starts. And so do the flood gates in my eyes (which doesn't really mean anything since I cry everytime I see, hear or even read about someone crying). From that point onwards things become melodramatic and depressing. And unfortunately, I am not in the right mindset to read these kinds of heavy themes right now. I did not see the su*cide and depression tags. Foolish of me, I know. Thus I decided to stop reading at chapter 55 (part 120 on the site I read it on).

As far as the quality of the novel itself goes, I can't say I am impressed by the writing style. Oftentimes I found myself confused since the author skipped transitions so the MC being in one place in one paragraph and then in another location and time in the next paragraph without a word of warning is not that uncommon.

I was also confused when the MC was suddenly in the hospital in the next chapter when the chapter before that ended on a positive note after a friend gathering. It had me double-check whether there wasn't a chapter missing in-between. There wasn't. Instead, I got a brief explanation through a half summary/ half flashback. This wasn't the only time the author used flashback/summary to explain past events. It kinda breaks the reading flow and confused me even more when I was already struggling due to the mtl being so bad.

So yeah, had to drop this novel before I became even more depressed. <<less

Overall enjoyable thus 5 stars for me.

But there were a couple of things that the author slipped on...

  1. The whole brother thing felt forced (apparently they both missed each other very much but the brother didn't seem to be looking for MC at all...) - you'll know what I mean if you read the novel;
  2. The MC's friend's love story was kind of stuck in there (I mean the one who was aiming to be a doctor, not the playboy Wang Ye, or whatever his name was...) Actually both of their romance bits felt kind of useless... One was mentioned like thrice, and I don't even know what was going on with them, it was not well grounded at all. The other with Wang Ye (?) ended abruptly with no real explanation as to why??? There was one extra regarding this but it also didn't explain anything which kind of made the whole extra pointless to me...
  3. The author clearly doesn't know what state a body is in after hitting the ground from a height (such as after jumping off a building...) I bet if they did, the bit about MC holding his friend's body (?) would not appear. Unless he scraped him off of the pavement beforehand.
  4. I don't really understand why the ML didn't take the MC to a psychologist or anything seeing the state he was in. Or why he didn't suggest going to a hospital right away when he found MC in their home. Like "Oh, you look very hurt and in pain... Let's take a shower and go to sleep." .... Why???
Aside from that, it was a nice read. I liked the atmosphere, and if I ignore the slip ups I really enjoyed it :>

It's was interesting in reading this. (The novels flow like a bell curve, the peak was when MC loses control of his feelings.)

Spoiler

At first, MC was insecure, with little self-esteem towards himself due to his parent's divorce and lack of mother's love. Slowly, ML builds up his confidence, yet the death of tao yan in front of him resulted in his su*cide tendency... Afterwards, it's about MC recovering, gain his confidence, loving himself more and starting a family.

The cons were not describing MC's mother at all! MC's stepfamily is only described in the beginning, the later chps did not have anything to do with them. Moreover, there is no more description of MC's friends at the later chps, only have one of MC's friend's perspective at the extras. The side pairings of MC's best buddy and Mc's doctor with their lovers are implicitly described. Other than that, I feel that the way MC and ML handled Liao Ke could be done more better. I mean u should put the rapist to jail, not just saying sorry to the victim and the family.
