It's a novel that's interaction heavy with the plot focusing on what the Hero party does with the demon king defeated. The Hero party is full of eccentric characters, including the protagonist, Sentimental. That being the case, it becomes a slice of life yet the mundane things they do couldn't be farther from normal. It's a goofy story, with a goofy plot, and goofy characters, essentially a parody. It's not a profound novel that tells of grand tales, philosophical sophistication, or anything deep. In fact, it's quite the opposite of... more>> that, and may be the reason it's entertaining. The story is told and focus on the MC's point of view but you can derive each of the character's thoughts on their dialogues alone. Still, it does occasionally shift the POV, albeit scarcely, but it's precisely that scarcity that makes you curious about each character's story and what they really think about. Despite being a light read, there is somewhat of a serious undertone that it tackles like self-conflict, unsaid feelings, inner flaws, and such other things - though downplayed due to the comedy aspect - as is the case in every relationship. To conceptualize this aspect better, basically,
    Spoiler

The party has remained in a platonic relationship for the duration of their adventure, yet the women of the party harbors feelings for the MC, Sentimental. It having a somewhat romance theme specifically, makes the platonic relationship for them to be bittersweet at most, desiring a deeper connection. Although that's the case, they hesitate to confront it in fear of losing both the chance of a deeper connection and the platonic one. Sentimental being as aloof, doesn't make it easier as he interprets their motives other than the intended one. He's not dense - well, mostly... - but simply has an already established familiar relationship with them; comrades, through all hardships.

There is another point for note on the self-conflict part on one chapter but it's too soon and maybe merely an assumption about that,

    [collapse]

It's also because of this undertone that gets pushed around since it's comedy, that it remains engaging despite being a light read. It adds depth to their character and further has you thinking how they'll come to resolve this. The story is a mixture of misunderstandings, fluff, friendship, absurdities, eccentricities, and romance. All of these combined gives off an idyllic, rambunctious and yet peaceful feeling while reading.

As for flaws... well, with this kind of story, I don't think flaws would even be considered.

One thing I'd like to point out though is the translation quality. It's readable enough and even somewhat makes sense, but that's it and it could really be improved a ton. The way it's translated is if you read the passage, you'll be able to grasp the general idea of what it's trying to tell but leaves off the undertone it wants to convey; nuances, for one. There's also the fact that you might not know who's talking as sometimes it's a back to back dialogue, sometimes it's a continous monologue... in a dialogue... I guess that's one of it's flaws, but with the varied personalities, and sense of context, you should be able to know who's talking.

-It's a light read that's engaging enough to not be stagnant, comedy with enough seriousness, characters that looks shallow but is quite fleshed, and well... just overly chill, hahas. You could even leave it in your reading list, come back, and it'll still remain interesting. It's a parody, I tell you, PARODY, hahahas.

Went in for the premise, stayed for the laughs. Then again, humour is subjective and interest is an acquired taste, so, why not give it a try? :) <<less

I'm enjoying so far, the protagonist Sentimental wanted to break free from the Hero's party but couldn't do so and tried various means only to backfire at him and also he seems dense when it comes to his party members and to other females he met along the way
