I thought the girls who hated the hero would surely be pleased, but their expressions are strange.

…But how do I get home?

Oh my god, this is a masterpiece. I have a thing for tragic MCs that suffer in pain, so I gotta admit this was right up my alley. ;) At first you don't know what is special about him at the start—he seems weak, the setting seems like the cliche hero summoning, and the mission he has seems simple too—"just" delivering letters. But not everything is as it seems.

As the mystery unravels, you realize just how broken the MC is and just how screwed up the world is. He's also... more>> not exactly weak... but his body dying, so fights are not easy (which makes it exciting in my opinion). But despite the tragedies, I just can't stop reading because I wonder what will happen next and how things will end—will he make it back home? Will he finally find solace in death? Or will he, somehow, (unlikely as it seems) regain his will to live... ?

This is truly a masterpiece of a story filled with emotional turmoil and surprising twists. If you're looking for a power tripping munchkin story or a fluffy lighthearted story, this ain't gonna be your cup of tea. But if you enjoy tragic MCs, a good mystery, and a non-cliche story, this is truly a hidden gem.

Edit after finishing: The journey was really exciting, but one thing is that I felt like the ending was a bit lacking. To be honest, it ended quite suddenly. I wish there were more after the ending to wrap up the unresolved issues, but it was a good read nonetheless. <<less

This is a beautifully depressing novel. With each subsequent chapter, the story moves in a more depressing direction, revealing the protagonist's dark history and showing that seemingly small things (for the recipients of the letters) can lead to tragedy.
The protagonist himself acts as an ordinary errand boy, which is a nice change from the usual heroes in isekai. As written in the description, his only goal is "I want to go home" and he pursues this goal decisively without regard to the results of his actions. He doesn't play nice words and always mercilessly points out the mistakes of others, while sinking deeper and deeper into the mistakes of his past.
I'm very curious how bad this story will end because there isn't much hope for a happy ending. I recommend to anyone who has had a good day to read this story because it can instantly make you feel melancholic/sad and shake off the excessive joy.

This is different from other isekai. It's not what I thought. I expected a morbidly narcissistic wallowing in self pity and reveling in others regret. So far, I'm hooked on a story that's similar to that on the outside but more like a ball of jumbled wired behind your PC. The MC isn't the hero, after all the hero is dead. Is I read about the characters I want to know more about the MC. The author slowly teases it out. I'm impressed. I was hesitant to read it, now... more>> I'm waiting for the next chapter. (Edit: At C56, I'm still reading. It's still good, still different. It hits hard. I'm taking a break. I'll come back when it's updated to the 70s. Very dark, but good. <<less

Don't be fooled by the synopsis and the first few chapters, this novel is different from the common isekai story. Every chapter you read reveals a bit more about the decrepit world, showing twists and turns that may make you question the sanity of the author to come up with what he has. From the not so bright beginning to the story where the hero dies, the novel slowly delves deeper into both the protagonist and the the girls, each story concluding oddly tragic.

The story is written pretty realistically given... more>> the plot, and is pretty well written, conclusions to the characters, including the protagonist, is a bit off putting.

If you enjoy reading unique stories with maybe a slightly depressing turn, this is a novel for you. <<less

The story becomes more depressing as you read on. The author is unveiling the protagoinist's past at an approtiate pace. The writing stlye makes you want to keep reading even though you fell nothing will go right or things will not end happily (it's just my feeling).

You've got feel-good novels, and then I guess you've got feel-bad novels. I didn't know those existed, but now I know.

This novel is rather well written, with some amount of world building. The characters are... Deeply, deeply flawed, but they're not boring, to say the least.

The thing is, there is nothing but misery in this novel. Characters misunderstanding one another to catastrophic proportions, people dying with their dreams shattered... This novel is not even revenge p*rn (as it is presented) since you don't even feel good.

The writing is good enough... more>> that I held for 65chapters, but I had to drop it since there's no point in continuing a train-wreck story <<less
