Her water based magic makes her feel cold a lot, and makes her a good choice for a career as a doctor. Until a one night stand with Ishid, the ML. She figures she might as well enjoy a relationship with a super hot guy (in more ways than one) and then step aside once his romance with Rael, the novel FL, starts. As long as she doesn't act in jealousy against Rael, she should be fine. However even though she wants to keep her distance, she's got a caring heart and can't help but get annoyed at Ishid's behaviour and teaches him how to treasure himself.

He always feels too hot, and summer is the worst to him but he's learned to never show it. He noticed Juniper long ago, but never got close to her until she jumped him at a party. Now he's worried that he'll lose her just as easily as he got her. He does all sorts of outrageous things to please her, and it's just too kyute!

She was deeply hurt when Juniper whom she wanted to be friends with was avoiding her in school. An offhand comment from Juniper gets her to do her best to break off the relationship with the prince. I dislike her more on principal than anything else. In some ways she's a bit like a female version of Ishid, drawn to Juniper's confidence and steadiness. Interestingly, Ishid and Rael seem to dislike each other though they've hardly had any interactions. There's a little backstory there I'm eager to learn more about.

Beyond being a prick to Rael and being the only person who seems to interact with Ishid in a non professional manner (I'm not sure if I can call them friends. Though I think they're cousins) he hasn't done much at the point where I am. He seems like a straightforward a**hole character, but there's been a couple of scenes with hints that maybe he has a reason, and maybe he's not as much of a jerk as he pretends (?is he pretending?) to be. A scene with his father, the king (definitely an a**hole), in particular where the king tells him and Ishid that it's very dangerous to care for things... I don't know.
