In a world where monsters dominate, and humans are but one out of ten thousand of the population, Gao Yang, having transmigrated to this world at the tender age of six and led the life of a normal boy until his eighteenth birthday, must seek the truth and survive against all odds—with the help of a mysterious system, a bottom-of-the-list Talent, and the companions he meets along the ways.

What is hidden under the facade of an ordinary city and its ordinary occupants? What are these different manners of monsters, and where is the line drawn between monsters and humans? Could relationship and love be true when all are merely playing their own parts?

Ride along on his journey and find out!

Official blurb translated from Chinese:

An orphan, Gao Yang transmigrated to a parallel world at the age of six, and he was given the gift of a loving family of five.

However, with the coming of his eighteenth birthday, Gao Yang found out by chance that this is no parallel world, but a strange domain where his family and friends can all be terrifying monsters! He almost got killed when he realized the truth, and he would, if not for the system and Talent he acquired at the last moment, Lucky—the longer he lives, the stronger he will become!

Now commenced the battle royale of a lamb among wolves…

Very funny banter occasionally like: "how can a man be a quick shooter?" (mtl)

Characters: characters are good, they are not brain dead. How this is a superhero novel, and it's the biggest crunch for this novel. The characters all blend in together (kinda), and their super powers allow you to identify the character, but on the other hand their superpowers are very limited, I guess? Like these aren unique powers so you won't see unique solutions to standard problems. Plot: smooth, logical, and nicely paced (for a chinese novel.... more>> A western novel would make a whole saga from the first 10 chapters or so). Not too amazing or mid blowing, but not brain rot either.

Worldbuilding: slightly lacking, but it's pretty nice.

the author has a wierd writing style, as in they incorporate themes and questions into the writing, so the characters seem so humane, but their superpowers overwhelm their own concerns, besides for the fact the concerns are barely shown

Overall, I think this is the perfectly average novel. Entertaining, morally ambiguous, doesn't cause brain rot. Good characters, plot and worldbuilding. Has a theme, kinda. There are no obvious or glaring flaws. I would not say its exceptional, but does everything correctly. <<less

Plot: The world has many monsters disguising as humans. Some are more intelligent than others, some are aggressive, some are too s*upid. When even one's own family is suspected of being monsters in disguise, only those who are awakened are guaranteed to be 100% human.

Even then, not all humans are good...

MC finds a companion and they navigate the dangers as they understand more about the world of monsters

A good story of being paranoid
